What's wrong with you? Nothing! You're a beautiful, sensitive soul who reacts to beautiful, emotional music like this moving masterpiece, I cry every single friggin time I hear it, Floor's soft voice gets me every time, the poem/speech with the boy who resembles young Tuomas is everything

One of my favorites. The meaning behind this song is so beautiful and filled with sadness. "Tuomas has said about this song, that it's about if he were to die tomorrow, what would he want to say to everyone that he loves, and that love him..." The boys voice is saying the things that Tuomas wants us to know. Also Nat, Did you notice the image of the small boy on the screens reaching out to the flying Swans? The swan if Finnish mythology is the guide to the Afterlife and the boy represents Tuomas imploring the Swans to take him with them. What a beautiful and hypothetically sad song. The last vocal part is so powerful. What more can you say about Floor's ability to emote vocally. Tuomas is such an incedible lyricist and poet. All I can say is; If you read this line Remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse Songmaker's cry, the one without tears For I've given this its strength And it has become my only strength Comforting home, mother's lap, chance for immortality Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew The sweet piano writing down my life Teach me passion, for I fear it's gone Show me love, hold the lorn So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me I'm sorry Time will tell, this bitter farewell I live no more to shame, nor me, nor you And you I wish I didn't feel for you anymore A lonely soul An ocean soul A lonely soul An ocean soul

I was there, I cried and sang the whole show, the atmosphere that Nightwish creates is from another world, an unforgettable experience, luckily they recorded it, it is sad that they have mutated the audience especially in this song, anyway one of the best shows that I went to, I love all your Nightwish reactions!! Greetings from Argentina.

I'm so late to the party, but I have to say, it's so refreshing to see someone let the emotion of the music take over. Exactly how I felt the first time I heard this song. A true masterpiece. Great reaction. Thank you 💓

See now this is why we watch you mate... you wear your emotions like a neon light and this song is perfect for that. Never apologise for the way music makes you feel. You know that is right. What's wrong with you? Nothing. It's called the Holopainen-Jansen effect. The music and the lyrics leave you defenseless and then the voice and the performance finishes the job. You end up being a messy ball of tears and snots with a dagger through your heart and the only thing you can think is "Please. Do it again. I want more".

I think this song ia about a young boy who is abused, or at least misunderstood. He never has anyone to talk to, so he puts all his thoughts and feelings down in song. The song becomes his best friend, and he puts all his strength into it, so it can give him the strength he needs to get through life. The song shows all the parts of his soul. Eventually, he tries to make his life better, but no matter what he does, he could never get back to the childlike innocence he used to have. So he tries to learn and he reaches for wisdom, but things are just too much, and the right choice unclear. He can't be God. And he says that people shouldn't sigh and wish for a better world, because the world's song, with all its different parts, has already been written and done. He is doing much the same thing, only for himself. During the spoken part (in quotation marks), he tells people not to remember "him", the silent, misunderstood boy, but the song that iss his soul. Deep down, he wants to be loved, to sit on his mother's lap and feel his heart has a home. He could live forever in that. But instead, he wrote his life and soul on the piano. Since he can't get his wish, and can't fix the problems in his life and the world, he has no passion for anything. He cares about the world, and people, but feels he is wasting air since he has no love, no passion, and nothing to give. He is like the ocean -- necessary but often abused and misunderstood, and terribly, terribly lonely.

"Walk within my poetry" If I write poetry, my poetry is my world. So if I invite someone to "walk within my poetry" I'm not just offering them to see a part of my world, I'm inviting them to become a part of my world. I want them within my existence.

Don't be sorry you feel it so close, so raw, so intimately. I know it must be feeling even vulnerable to feel like a dagger is oping you in front of a camera. But that ability to be so open is what makes me come back to your reaction channel. There's such a level of sincere in you that can't be faked. And part of my respect comes also from seeing you fight with it. Maybe you want to also hide that raw reaction - I get that: I want to hide those reactions, not to crash in front of curious strange eyes you don't know you can trust. Sometimes even in front of people you trust, it's hard to be dissected open. So it's a level of bravery we witness in you that very few are ready to enter. Feeling weak you're actually strong.

And I also like your smile when they start to pay homage and cheer for the boy in the interlude with the horns, ramping up the atmosphere. Such respect, honouring the sincere suffering little boy.

Hi! First time commenting (also just subscribed!). I think your reaction channel is quite unique. I think it's probably the combination of your style and the (for a first timer probably often a bit surprising) way you react to music. I love how emotional you get. I think that tells a lot about the music and about you as a person. Since you like Nightwish, I'd really love you to react to Marco's (the base player) solo album Pyre of the Black Heart. It's an album he did in both Finnish and English. The whole album (both versions) is pure gold, in my opinion, but good songs to start with would be Stones (the English version) and Isäni ääni (Finnish version of Voice of my Father, you should check the English lyrics for that).

This is one of the few songs in NW catalog where as much as I love Floor, the original version just speaks to me even more. Another one is Deep Silent Complete. It's just that they soooo perfectly fit the other singer's particular inimitable instrument, that anyone else has to create a different version, with almost unavoidably subtle difference in feeling. And that subtle difference makes quite an impact. All that to say, check out the original, when you get a chance, cause there are 2 great versions of this song... And Deep Silent Complete is a gem too....Also, could this be a great example of song's title really affecting your perception of the song itself? If there were no dead boy in the title and you just listened to the song and read its lyrics, I wonder if it would have as powerful an impact? That title inflates it with a meaning and interpretation, one that is personalized to the listener, as opposed to necessarily conveying the songwriter's intent... This is an old song and "dead boy" is a running reference in Nightwish lyrics, including Poet and the Pendulum and "Song of Myself." I have not come across definitive explanation of its meaning, but lyric "everything I WISH for the NIGHT seems suggestive...

'Dead Boy' is one of the pseudonyms Tuomas used when writing about himself, along with 'The Poet' and 'The Oceansoul' : "Wishing that the tide would catch me first and give me the death I'd always hoped for" So yeah, kinds of linked, it was his outpouring at that point in time, about 2000. Obviously the complete collapse of his world was still a few years off that lead to the P&P to be written.
