"As mentioned in his article on poverty and income" here mentioned is use as verb or what and is not used in present as the second form shows is in past kindly guide. Such sentences are used in research articles

Respected Sir. What would happen If.we are writing about past . For isntance I went to Lahore to.meet my doctor. He showed me my reports. The reports were stating sone dangerous facts. Now how can I write that the report shows ? Thank.u
