It is sickening to these student groups signing the letter and no word of empathy for those human beings who were butchered for no reason. Gaza is governed by the Palestinian Authority, but its foolish citizens chose Hamas as their leader one time , no recent elections and have made no economic progress and always fighting in the name of Allah! My understanding is that they all hate Jews so much that they want to wipe out Israel. Don't feel sorry for these middle eastern muslims who always blame others but their rich Arab masters don't help them to progress in life. Look at Lebanon, Syria and wherever the muslims go, once they outnumber the natives, they demand separate land like in India (it was divided pakistan, Bangladesh and now terrorizing the natives for Kashmir).😡. These so called intelligent students cannot differentiate between freedom fighters and barbaric terrorists only due to their internal hatred for Jews and religious fanaticism.

The extreme Left always assumes, as you're stating here, that there is always a question of "power" at hand. That there is inherent inequality that somebody *caused*--any discrepancies between, say, whites and blacks, is proof of oppression, caused by somebody with "power." This is just not how the real world works. Jewish students who have been insulted, threatened, actually discriminated against in class by an extremist, pro-Hamas, professor at Cornell, I believe . . . yes, these students are facing raging anti-antisemitism fueled by university-sanctioned student groups AND faculty. If you want to talk about "power," the forces attacking students who stand for the exact things President Biden has articulated are weilding quite a bit of power right now. Dangerous time for Jews. Well, it's always dangerous for Jews. But especially now that the extreme Left has teamed up with vicious homicidal antisemitic & anti-American terrorist forces.

Harvard, and US education in general, needs to take action against the rise of narcissistic compulsion to superficially pursue moral and/or intellectual superiority. Academia should not tolerate the slide into one-sided, entrenched, thinking based upon an indefensible level of understanding. Understanding the Israeli-Palestinian situation demands the intellectual capacity to hold opposing perceptions simultaneously in mind. Harvard seems to have woefully failed to develop that intellectual capacity amongst its students.

It’s just politics. You only speak the way you do because of which side you’re on. How would you feel if you were on the other side and had your home stolen? I have seen atrocities on both sides and so have you, therefore, acting like one side is wholesome and the other is evil would be dishonest. There are consequences for colonialism. Are you aware that Israel sided with the European South African government during apartheid? I suppose you think the Africans who were wronged are also evil for wanting their land back too huh? The situation is much more complicated than the media is portraying and those of us who have been around more than 40 - 50 years know that. I remember Israel fighting the Obama administration over taking more of the Gaza Strip and displacing Palestinians. Every time they do that it puts the rest of us at risk for terrorist attacks out of shear anger. Militants might wage war in a different manner if they could, but they are poor and don’t have access to match superpowers. And lastly, consider the millions of innocent civilians living in Gaza under the control of 30,000 Hamas militants. Do they deserved to be bombed? There are many innocent Palestinians living in Israel and suffering discrimination, many of which are children who have nothing whatsoever to do with Hamas. @@LAWOODSTORIES - The West is ok with it because Israel is our planted ally and spy. It’s an indefinite business deal. The U.S. initiated the displacement of Palestinians after WWII and the U.N. Subsequently joined the cause. Israel can pretty much do what they want because of the benefits they offer us in the region. I remember when Obama actually had the balls to challenge Benjamin Netanyahu when he began encroaching on more Palestinian territory and Netanyahu gave him the finger. That attitude makes peace impossible, but when was the last time you heard it mentioned in western media? Pay close attention and you will notice how western news outlets and governments are refusing to acknowledge Palestinian suffering. Why not use military intelligence to strategically target extremists over time like we did with Bin Laden? How does bombing women, children, and innocent civilians in general make Israel any better? It’s a legitimate moral question that deserves an answer.

We are much more cool-headed over here to come up with a solution than they are over in the Middle East. Also, without a debate, how can we disabuse the Harvard students of their beliefs? Convince them that those barbaric crimes Hamas is committing are simply unacceptable no matter what? I mean, CEOs are trying to blacklist harvard grads that wrote the letter? Wow. That's *higher than most African countries, Asian countries like India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, etc. Even neighboring Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iran were only a few hundreds dollars better* and those are supposedly "free" people. Perhaps one reason is because the *US/EU have been sending BILLIONS of economic/humanitarian aid to Palestine for decades which should immediately stop until ALL Israeli hostages are returned* safe and sound. Obviously, if Hamas can afford "thousands upon thousands of rockets" to attack Israel, they can afford to feed their own people.

I guess the Harvard kids can be so "bright" with minds so sharp and quick that they don't need to go through the laborious process of critical thinking, apparently their brilliant Harvard minds are so accustomed to arriving at conclusions and solutions to problems simply by their giftedness and advanced "circuitry" that is so unlike the rest of the human race who have to actually take some time to think through things. The rest of the human race can only sigh and wish we had such brainpower of the Harvard elite - on second thought, glad I don't have what it takes to go to Harvard.

The only problem here is that nowadays people have a little bit of better understanding on what's going on and therefore are able to judge by themselves instead of just listen to what a group in power has to say, and obviously, the group in power doesn't like that.

What "group" is in power? This is exactly how reactionaries think

All groups can say what they want, as long as they pay the price for their opinions. By all means - voice your radical violent anti -Semitical opinions. That will give others a chance to understand who they are dealing with and react accordingly.

@@reapthewhirlwind4166 Just goes to prove once again how hollow Harvard students really are between the ears, not to mention useless pricks between the legs. These universities have exposed the low calibre student output that they are able to produce. What a disater for America. Clearly american corporations will no longer employ these misguided clowns but - hey - those burgers aren't going to flip themselves.

Quoting former Harvard president Summers: “Many in these groups never saw the statement before it went out. In some case(s) those approving did not understand exactly what they were approving. Probably some were naive and foolish.” So I get it, naive and foolish Harvard students, you know, those who have endured the most rigorous academic preparation to meet the demands and criteria for acceptance into probably the most elite university in the US. Oh well, I guess critical thinking skills are just for the students still tethered to their training wheels in the lower - tiered colleges -- as critical thinking is "beneath your Harvard level". I guess you can be so "bright" and your minds so sharp and quick that you don't need to go through the laborious process of critical thinking, apparently your brilliant Harvard minds are so accustomed to arriving at conclusions and solutions to problems simply by your giftedness and advanced "circuitry" that is so unlike the rest of the human race who have to actually take some time to think through things.

Well done Harvard - at least the intelligent can see the truth! Cause and effect! As JFK said - “Those who make peaceful revolution, impossible make a violent revolution, inevitable!”

American institutions of higher learning should not be expected to pick a side. That isn’t their role. Students on both sides are undoubtedly losing people and that is something they have in common. Despite their grief and being a world away from home, they still need to be able to sit in the same classrooms, learning the same material, working on the same projects, and finding a way to talk to one another. That is what the school should be supporting and encouraging.

Doxxing people is a low blow. It's what you do when you don't have any good argument so you resort to insults and intimidation. If you want to hold those students accountable for their words and their freedom of speech, then you reply back with your own flyer, article, or letter, with your own facts and challenge them to present theirs. Threatening students because they think differently from you is a weak move.

What facts challenge what they say? They are being attacked for speaking forbidden truths. It's against the law to criticize Israel or to refuse to buy products or services from them.
