Watch me struggle to set up a my NEW Wolf Walker Tent and Camp chair. I think both of these are going to be serious quality of life improvements when camping. Really can't wait to put these to the test!

to be honest, i gave up trying to camp from the bike. i bouught an enclosed trailer for my bike and ALL my camping gear .At my age and size (6ft 2inch@270 lbs) i need a full size chair , a stand up tent and a cot . the cost of camping hear in the north east has gotten expensive and with needing reservations now at most places even cancelations are expensive. i like to able to trailer my bike and set up a base camp and take daily rides to explore the area. if the weather turns bad, i can always take my truck for the day and still enjoy my trip.i also carry a large tarp with poles to make coverage over table, i have a table top grill , a coleman stove , coolers etc..the costs for Quality camping gear thats small enough and light enough to fit on a bike can almost cover the cost of a small enclosed trailer!! $500.00 tent , $200.00 sleeping pad , $200.00 sleeping bag, $400.00 for paniers etc, and you still wake up feeling like shit, and it really cant be that fun riding all packed up with that gear. thats a great looking tent , but i wouldnt want to have to tear that down and set it up everyday on a BDR trip. Im also able to carry spare tires and more tools if theres a breakdown, or tow the bike to a shop if needed. i also use the trailer for winter storage of my bike. i just mention all of this so maybe you will save some money , time and aggrevation before you go down that expensive rabbit hole of bike camping.... Can you imagine mounting under the rain ?

Thanks for posting this video. I would love to have the Lone Rider tent, but it is extremely expensive and I just don't go camping enough to justify the purchase. I was looking into the Wolf tent and it does looks like a really good option!

I think the Wolf Walker is an awesome alternative for 1/3 the cost. Though I haven't camped with it yet I already know I'm going to enjoy it more than the other tents I've used.

Glad it wasn't raining when you put this thong up. It seemed to take far to long, but will probably get easier with practice
@NothingAtRandom5 ай бұрын
yeah it took a little long to put up because i was fighting the wind. I've learned a few tricks to putting it up that have made the process faster.

did you use 100 waterproof silicone and mineral spirits to waterproof bottom of inner tent? ?
@MrBulli698 ай бұрын
Ps its much easier to get all three poles inserted before flexing any into position. I dont own this tent but ive had several tunnel tents over the years including one at this price point and one nearly 3 times more expensive. Peg the rear down.before you start too or if its windy youll be chasing it across a field.

Nasty weather is when you want to test out a tent. Don't really need it when it's nice out.

Hey, Aaron! Looks like a good value for what you get but IMO, it's a little too bulky and heavy for long distant adventures. Also, I've never had to waterproof a tent. The only exception is when you buy a tent that needs seam sealed. But with that said, perhaps these budget tents need extra DWR applied to them. Have you officially used the tent yet?

Good value !!!!!

I would buy this tent except for two thing. #1 No bug screen on the back sleeping compartment door. #2 Completely closed vestibule. These two lead to no through air flow. So the tent would be a sauna.
@NothingAtRandom3 ай бұрын
If you keep the Rain fly closed there is a lack of air flow, that i can't deny. The two door ways to the "Cabin" compartment from the Garage have a lot of mesh. The "Cabin" rear door does have mesh for the top half. You'd just need to keep the Rain fly compartments open if you wanted air flow.

@@NothingAtRandom thanks for that info. You must have a newer version. I borrowed a buddies Wolf Walker two years ago. It did not have a mesh on the cabin back door. I tired it for a night and said never again. My buddy donated it to a boy scout troop. He waited too long to get a return. I will look into the new models.

I like your video. Is there a mesh door on the end of the tent away from the garage or is it just the solid fabric door on that end?
@NothingAtRandom Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the like! On the Cabin/sleeping part of the tent all the doors have mesh. The Outer layer is all Solid. So you could leave the outer doors open to get some amazing air flow

@@NothingAtRandom Thanks for answering so quickly. I've been debating this tent or the $599 Lone Rider. Your video and answer might have saved me about 400 bucks! lol
@NothingAtRandom Жыл бұрын
@@russellduke7379 No problem, I'll actually be using it this weekend, 7-9th, and will likely talk about it in a video I'll be making. I think for the Price it would be hard to argue the reason for the Lone rider when this exists.

@@NothingAtRandom Enjoy your trip this weekend. Looking forward to a video of you actually using this tent.

As someone else said waterproofing a new tent? Why? Where's this rubbish come from? If it that badly made it needs waterproofing on day one-don't buy it.

I have the lonerider tent, its the same concept and design. But the problem with these kind of tent are too big when packed and the weight is too much for moto adventure.
@twowheeledadventuresuk273910 ай бұрын
Too much if riding off-road or just too much anytime? The lone rider is only 5kg so if you’re just on the road then that’s no issue surely?
@ADVdiary10 ай бұрын
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 true, its a fantastic tent if you do roads only., but when offroading, i struggle too much with the weight, i bought the other lonerider tent the smaller one, its only 3kg and packed really small,.
@firestorm9967 ай бұрын
The weight isn’t an issue for road riding. Pack size on this tent is smaller than the Eurohike 3 man tent I’ve been using for the last 2 years and have toured around Europe with. I think for basecamping over multiple days this tent is superb. For 1 night stops or touring I would go with something quicker to pack away.
