there's a guy in one of the music covers of the Terminator themes that writes a "what if" scenario of50-60 years in the future and John finds some remains that didn't get destroyed of the Terminator that protected him and reminisces about those days. it's actually very hard hitting as you both read and listen to the music at the same time. he did a great job at it.

The T-1000 is actually getting damaged by ever bullet it takes. It's just very small damage that would take tens of thousands if not more bullets, but it would stop working getting hit enough. Obviously the stronger the bullet the less you need. It's CPU is a part of the liquid metal so every hit is a hit to the CPU as well, it can reform and heal to ALMOST as good as new. The movie shows this at the end of the extended edition when he walks in the steel mill his feet are shown to melt into the steel floor, and his hand touches a railing and melts into the metal turning into the railings color. HE shakes his hand to make it go to normal, but they are implying that he has taken damage.

In the first movie, Kyle Reese says that the terminator is a "Cyberdyne Systems Model 101". At the end of the movie, the sign outside the factory where they crush the endoskeleton says "Cyberdyne Systems". The story was always intended as a double time loop: John is conceived because Kyle is sent back in time, and Skynet is built because Cyberdyne copies the terminator's processor.

Arnold once commented in an interview that his grandmother had complained to him that he killed so many people in his movies, and that she didn't like that. So when the sequel to "The Terminator" was being written, he worked with James Cameron and the writers so that *his* terminator didn't actually kill anyone in the film.

They say James Cameron is very meticulous on his movie sets and being that way possibly saved a stunt performer's life. Cameron wanted a roll cage installed in the cab of the semi-truck for the scene where the semi rolls onto its side. Stunt coordinators assured him the stunt has been performed before and no roll cage was required. Cameron got his way. During filming, the cab did indeed collapse and the roll cage saved the stunt performer from serious injury or worse.

Movie is so legendary cos if most of us were to make a sequel, we'd probably just add another bodybuilder with the same metal skeleton but perhaps a lot bigger and write a story. But they completely reinvented a whole new kind very distinct, and spent and developed so many new technologies to make it come onto screen. Say what you want about James Cameron as a peron, but he really spares no expense to try and give you an experience you can't forget.

I think the T-1000 is even more fearsome than the T-X. It's basically invulnerable to physical impact damage, whereas T-X has a solid endoskeleton, much like the T-800. You can absolutely destroy a T-X with enough firepower, but a T-1000 can only be affected by extreme temperatures. Maybe acid or EMP's too.

@Dusty Rhodes there was a website called Eterminator tied in to the release of Terminator 3 and it tied together all the lore from T1 and T2 together with the original Terminator novels. It said that the T1000 was made of billions of nanobots and that those on the outside handled appearance while those on the inside handled movement , shape and repairs. Together they contributed to a kind of hive mind CPU as the T1000 had no conventional CPU.

There are 4 more "Terminator" films (total of 6). T3, T4, and T5 were made by the film studio without James Cameron or Linda Hamilton. James Cameron came back to write the 6th movie, "Terminator Dark Fate" (2019), which ignores the other 3 and picks up right after the end of T2, and Linda Hamilton came back to play Sarah Conner again. So you can skip T3, T4, and T5, and go straight to "Dark Fate" without missing anything.

But it totally clicked when I saw the scene with Sarah dressed in all black trying to kill Dyson for a split second I thought it was the 2021 Mortal Kombat. I thought Sonya was just Cynthia Rothrock. But now I think she's a combination of Rothrock and Sarah Connor. Because Liu Kang is Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan. Johnny Cage is Van Damme. Raiden and Shang Tsung are straight from Big Trouble in Little China. The heart rip is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I'm not sure what Scorpion and Sub-Zero are. Just a note to say how much I love your channel and the way you complement each other in your reactions As to the sequels I highly recommend if nothing else you see the next installment, TERMINATOR 3 - RISE OF THE MACHINES. And i say that because they obviously did not stop judgment day, as if they did, John would not exist and there would be a major paradox. I also highly recommend you avoid like the plague the recent reboot TERMINATOR 3 - DARK FATE, where James Cameron decided to just ignore the original T-3 and rewrote the ending. It is horrible.

I think all the sequels were hopeless but T4 had some pretty good visuals.

The problem with time-travel movies is that every single disturbed dust speck or mosquito bit SHOULD ripple outward to the present day as it does or doesn't happen. It's generally-agreed that people in a time machine are not affected, but there's no time machine, here. I think the odds are heavily against them causing any change in the past and immediately recalibrating the present day, which would have to put a lot of pressure on the timeline. But it's an awesome movie.

The chip is gone but all the guys working with Dyson are still alive and will have the knowledge. There was also Arnold's arm which got torn off by the T1000.

I always thought it would have been great if the movie ended the way you edited the video. Showing the Terminator's vision going out and then just credits. But at the same time I'm questioning no other than "James Cameron's" decision. He seems to know a thing or two about movies lol.

No, I agree, I've always thought the narration was unnecessary and that the credits should have rolled when the T-800's vision cut off. Now that I've seen it that way I have to say it's a big improvement.

Focusing on the gun is a clue--that's actually pretty good, and true most of the time. In this case, it was more to highlight that the T-1000 couldn't liquefy anything that wasn't a part of him, so he couldn't just "gloop" the gun through the bars like he could and did himself. What the Missus is referring to is often called "Chekov's Gun", named for Russian playright Anton Chekov. It suggests that every element introduced in a story should be relevant and necessary. If an item, such as a gun, is specifically mentioned or shown early in the narrative, it should be used or have a purpose later in the story. The principle emphasizes the importance of economy and coherence in storytelling, removing irrelevant details to remain focused and drive the plot forward. To "shine someone on" means to irritate someone, to taunt someone. In this case, it's being flippant and casual so as to non-verbally disparage your enemy and show you don't consider them a threat. I'm a native English speaker and I'll be the first to say English is stupid. 🙂 It's actually three languages standing on top of each other in a trench coat, beating up other languages in back alleys for loose grammar. 😄 As such, please 😀don't take any of this as some sort of slight against your grasp of English; both of you speak English incredibly well, and only get tripped over the absurd bits that trip up even native speakers. A small detail I really like that often goes unnoticed: When Sara Connor is going after Dyson to kill him, the entire scene with her at the house up until she decides to not kill him is backed by the Terminator theme. For that moment, she had _become_ a Terminator. She had _become_ the very soulless killing machine she hated and feared, who only saw a human being in terms of an obstacle whose death was necessary, with no more importance than stepping on a blade of grass. That's why it touched her so that John came for her. She asked if he had come to stop her, he said yes, and she said she loved him. He was coming to stop her from crossing a line she couldn't un-cross. He was coming to save her, because he knew the cost of what she had almost done. Also, good catch, seeing that the T-1000 had three hands in the helicopter. Most people miss it; I certainly did until it was directly pointed out to me. Now watch _Terminator: Dark Fate._ It continues on from this movie and completes the character arc of Sarah Connor, and expands on some things with the Terminator.

One of the best sequels of all time! Alongside Cameron’s other sequel masterpiece Aliens. Can’t say the same for the new Avatar movie. Glad you enjoyed this! It was a major milestone in the history of visual effects. That dog was the same one from the first Terminator movie. Belonged to the director and was named Beowulf. Nickname was Wolfie! Here’s a fun parody from The Simpsons: m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o51lf7ed2sWunIk.html

So probably all the programming in the T1000's metal is destroyed in the molten steel, but I like to imagine a story 500+ years in the future well after humans defeat the skynet machines where the T1000 is partially whole and wandering the post apocalyptic societies/wastelands with no mission looking though junkyards and scraps for more bits of himself that were forged into various products. Maybe he becomes some sort of accidental anti-hero along the way by defeating the Mad Max style warlords 😆

AD stands for Anno Domini "In the year of our Lord", as in BC stands for "Before Christ". In the past few decades it's been changed to BCE and CE "Before Common Era" and "Common Era" even though it is the EXACT same years. As in 1941 AD is still 1941 CE.
