The budget for this movie was $250,000 and it made over 15 million dollars. Some theaters extended its theatrical run because of how much money it made. It’s safe to say there will be a third movie and I really hope more of the lore is explained. I heard that the second movie was the actual movie that the director wanted to make as opposed to the first. He wanted an 80’s final girl hero in this franchise. I’m sure the third movie will explain more and I am stoked!!!!

Actually Damien Leone said in interviews several years ago that he had financial backers for a Terrifier sequel, but for reasons he has never disclosed he decided to crowdfund one particular practical effects scene. I'm guessing that was the bedroom scene. And, I would guess that his financial investors wanted it toned down? His fundraising goal was to get $50k from fans of the first one, to do the scene the way he wanted; they actually raised $215k and were able to do ... well ... what they did. But make no mistake, $215k was the price tag just for the bedroom scene. No way did they make this entire movie for $250k. If I had to guess it looks like it cost about $6-8 million. That's a shoestring budget so the $15m it earned is still a hefty profit.

The bedroom kill was very gruesome, and the most disturbing scene out of all the Terrifier films. I've seen a lot of torture scenes in films and gore films from Olaf Ittenbach, but this is just over the top brutal.

Honestly, reminds me of suburban moms I’ve seen that can’t self regulate worth a damn or deal with stress and end up just having constant outbursts. They have a weird brittleness to them. Not saying that the acting was stellar, but it worked

I have a theory that Art was using some sort of magic that kept Ally alive throughout that whole scene. I also think the girl is some sort of demon that took the form of Art's first victim and was also the one to revive him and give him power. Kind of like a fangirl for Art

Oh boy. Edit: at the end of Ally's death, that shot of her on the bed with Art, was inspired by one of the photos of a Jack the Ripper victim. Edit-edit: the director stated that the reason victims stay alive is because of art. It's one of his powers, so the pain and torture is felt more.

I believe it's been heavily theorized that Art has the supernatural capability of keeping his victims alive for as long as he chooses them to be; prolonging their deaths until he's done "playing" with them.

@@falcon048 I ain’t saying it’s bad writing that he can’t be killed, although I’m not a big fan of that either. I find it boring. What I was referring to is that he has powers to keep his victims alive through anything. It feels like a cope because what the victims stay awake and alive through in these films is ridiculous. I can get supernatural villains being able to withstand a tremendous amount of pain but to somehow project it on others? Sounds lame. They just wanted their big torture gorefest.

I think the reason only Jonathan, Sienna and Art can see the little girl is because all three of them are clairvoyant. If you pause the film and read the newspaper clipping of the little girl, her parents were circus performers and were friends with clowns and mimes. My guess is Art and the little girl (when she was alive) might be either family friends or Uncle/niece.

I love this movie. What I love the most is that Damian isn't hindered by Producers or Distributors or Movie Studios. So he can create anything he wants. He made the movie HE wanted to make, whether it was successful or not. The only complaint I have is that my interpretation of the story doesn't fit with what Damian has said. If I go by what was shown, I would say that Art was never human and the little girl was a dark spirit that kept bringing him back. They didn't show her repairing or healing him at the Laundry Mat. But, taking his head and making it reborn out of Vicky was interesting. My take on the series is that if there is a dark force that can create an everlasting evil, then there is an equal opposite light force that can create an everlasting good. Sienna is the anti-Art. Damian has said that there could be 4 movies to tell the whole story. I hope in Terrifier 3 he brings the mythos more into play. If you've watched All Hallows Eve, he gives some clues to what Art is a part of. I like Terrifier 1 almost as equally as Terrifier 2. I can't pick.

I definitely liked 2 better. Better story, and they hinted at some lore without fully giving it all upfront. I think Art might be a creation of their dad's sick mind, as a representation of pure evil. But in an attempt to combat this, he somehow made his daughter, also his creation in a way, a representation of pure good, and thus she's capable of fighting Art.

Watch Stitches (2012), Clown (2014). All Hallows Eve (2013) is prequel to Terrifier Art The Clown origin story. 100 Tears (2007) is NC-17 its so gory and Gurdy the Clown makes Art look like a puppy lol.

There is one more Art movie you can see right now. It's the one that started it all. It's called 'All Hallow's Eve'.It came out way before Terrifier. It's an anthology movie featuring several different short stories. All connected to Art in some way. Even the wrap around story has to do with Art. One of the stories is actually the original 'Terrifier' short movie that was done as a project by the director. The anthology seems to take place after part 2 or maybe even 3 since Art is already supernatural in it. Since it was the first movie with Art, they had a different actor as the clown, so his face looks a tiny bit different. You should check it out too.

Really good sequel even if it was a little long, I still really enjoyed it. A lot more layers this time around and definitely more gore. I agree with the Mrs. about dressing up as a real serial killer. I honestly don't think many have dawned a true life serial killer costume. However, Milwaukee had to pull a costume modelled after Jeffrey Dahmer based off the Evan Peter's mini-series because people were mortified.

One of Arts supernatural abilities is he's able to keep his victims conscious and alive through the whole process so they feel everything. And also he's the complete opposite to penny-wise in every way, that's the way Damian Leone created the character ✌🏻

Art does appears in another movie. All Hallows' Eve (2013). I don't know if it is cannon but it does feature more supernatural aspects of the character (dreams and visions).

All Hallows Eve 2013 is not cannon because as you can see. Art the clown doesn't do anything he does in any of the storys in All Hallows Eve 2013. In the movie Terrifier 2016 on the audio commentary for Terrifier 2016. With Damien Leone himself he says at the start of Terrifier 2016 Art the clown is a normal human sadistic psychopath killer. With nothing supernatural about him in any way shape or form. Then an only after Art put a bullet through his head that officially an permanently killed him. Then that wird electrical stuff in the morgue was a supernatural force resurrecting Art back from the dead. Then an only then did Art become supernatural then in the audio commentary for Terrifier 2 2022. Damien Leone. Confirms that again an states the Pale Girl or clown girl its the entity that resurrected. Art back from the dead at the end of Terrifier 2016. Just like she or it picked up Arts severed head an walks away with. It an posssesd Victoria and gave birth to Arts head once again resurrecting Art back from the dead. Basically Terrifier 2016 ignores every single story an the events that happened in. All Hallows Eve 2013 so that means that since the events an storys of All Hallows Eve 2013 are ignored. In Terrifier 2016 an in Terrifier 2 2022 an Terrifier 3 an maybe Terrifier 4 if needed. That means All Hallows Eve 2013 is a stand alone movie. With no connection to Terrifier 2016 an after. What you see in All Hallows Eve is the beginning test ideas for Art the clown. It's confirmed on the audio commentary for All Hallows Eve 2013 with Damien Leone. Because in the first short film or story in it called The 9th Circle from 2008. Art looks completely different an he was nameless at that point. It was not until the 2nd short film called Terrifier 2011 Art looks different once again an he got the name Art in that short film. So basically All Hallows Eve 2013 is not cannon.

Same here. But then once I remembered that he's undead in this film it seems plausible. In the first film he was just a serial killer but then father possessed his body. Maybe?

I think that Art used to work at the carnival and that Emily was his daughter. Some townies were responsible for Emily's death, maybe teenagers who are related to the mayor or the sheriff, and Art lost his mind with grief. She was probably all he had in the world. He couldn't take the pain of his grief, so he makes a diabolical pact to trade his soul for vengeance. Maybe there was a fortune teller at the carnival who was into the dark arts, and she helped him obtain his goal. The carnival is still there because the rest of them just ran off scared. Art judges the whole town as being guilty, because probably none of them did anything to help bring the people responsible for his daughter's death to justice. The Clown Girl isn't Emily, just a demon who takes her form to help inspire Art. Sienna's dad was maybe friends with Art or related to him somehow.

Look for "Art Ther Clown" in "The 9th Circle" Arts first appearance and "Terrifier" 2011, the movie that kicks off "Terrifier" 2016. "ART The Clown: was inspired by "Leatherface" and "Jason".

Spoiler Alert: The first Art the clown movie was called "All Hollows Eve". (There was a Terrifier short film before it) It included one of the most brutal things I've ever seen in a movie. The fact that she didn't even die made it even more completely twisted.

I saw this in the theater last year, and I fucking LOVED it!!! Lauren Lavera is fucking AMAZING, and I fell in love with her after I saw this movie!!! She is So amazing!!! But the friend's death scene almost had me gaging!!! Just a little over the top!!!

Sienna's so fucking cute 😍. Fun fact, the mom at 19:12 is the girl from Halloween 5 who was in the sexy devil costume. Cool little H5 callback. Fucking great sequel and definitely surpassed the first film. Sienna and Tara are my favorite modern day final girls by FAR and so much to explore with both Tara (Scream) and Sienna (Terrifier 2). Lauren LaVaera (Sienna) Damien Leone confirmed WILL return as Sienna for T3 and T4. She's such a great final girl and family is strength. Most gruesome is definitely Allie's death scene and the way Art slowly picked her apart and kept her alive is so sadistic. At least the girl from T1 died right after. But T2? It was torture.

It wasn’t the body horror , but the kind of 80’s hair metal, epic kind of good versus evil that made me enjoy this more than the first. It gave meaning to the actual film! Not just some weirdo going around chopping people up. It gave us lore. What is that lore??? I don’t know. Hopefully if they make a 3rd one, they make it epic… like with unicorns and shit.
