Man, they're so damn scary. Nice to hear someone like Niall, who closely studies and has lived amongst chimps his whole life, be honest about how disgusting and scary they are. 😅If they're endangered today, maybe tomorrow, chimps will be extinct.😁

There’s a very low chance of you ever being in a situation where a chimp attacks you. Unless you decide to keep one as a pet lol, That’s why animals like this belong with their own kind in the wild. They’re meant to be wild. Yeah they’re vicious, but like any animal, it’s natural and normal. So, how does their existence really affect you? It’s not like you have to live with them.

@@jord3000 👏👏Thank you But yes, of course, I was joking. I would have no personal joy @ the news of Chimpanzee's extinction. They are smelly and nasty, but you're right, they don't affect me. Women that adopt a baby because he's "cute" dress them up like toddlers, blink and have a 200lb alpha in their home are the ones that bum me out. Even worse when they promote it on SM. But don't hope the chimps all die😅😂

I don't say this lightly because I'm very pro-Zoos and the work they do protecting and nurturing endangered species and presenting the wonder of our animal cousins to the public but the more I see of chimps the more I think they should in no way, shape or form be held in captivity by humans. I know in the wild they can be quite ruthless and murderous of each other but that's the way they live and we should do our best to protect them in their natural environment. No disrespect to Chester Zoo and the dedicated zoo-keepers who work there. I can tell that they do their best to care for the chimps.

When the alpha male or "leader" of the group stands up, hair puffs out and he starts stomping his feet and slamming his arms, the thought of that anywhere close to a human being is insane. I see some videos where people have older chimps and they seem to be calm and mellow. But watching the group dynamics one little thing can set a chimp off, and THAT is frightening! The fact you'll not know what caused it until it's pissed off and then look out! I've studied these chimps for a while and I still have so much more I don't understand. What does set them off. I do know the younger ones get angry if they have something they shouldn't have and you take it away. Yikes the tantrums that follow when you take it can be nuts. Oh and the little cute fuzzballs, THEY BITE! AND THEY BITE HARD!
@htxtaj
@htxtaj 2 жыл бұрын
Think about it... does a fish throw tantrums? Do insects or plants throw tantrums? No. Primates are closely related to humans, and it’s evident through their behavior through speech and mannerisms. Primitive or not, you can’t ignore the similarities between genetic family. We also have tantrums & emotional impulses we act on. Honestly I haven’t seen any animal with more shared characteristics than primates. They walk and sound like us, they eat what we eat, and they learn fast & early.

many ways these fights or acts of violence play out. failure to show respect to the Alpha is likely to get a subordinate female beat or bit. a young male mating with a female in plain sight of the Alpha male may get him in deep trouble. i've seen young chimps; secure in the knowledge their mom is high ranking start crap with a junior female... knowing mom will step in and smack the female if she gets out of line with her youngster. sometimes the chimp is just in a bad mood from events that took prior to coming out in to the public view.

To: @ZARTHALAS - She did indeed. Here is a quote from a study that University of Chester were conducting on this group at that time. "The position of Vila, the newly introduced female, in the grooming and affiliative network showed strong ties to central individuals such as Dylan, and her position in the agonistic network indicated that she did not commonly receive or give aggression." Dylan is presently the alpha and he succeeded Boris.
