It’s already being done in USA for a few years with Amazon supermarkets. It’s actually clever because I bet we are naturally more likely to spend more when we enter a cash free store. I went a month only using cash and not card and noticed how much more conscious I was off how much am item would cost and my spending limit.

Thank you for this - I shall give it a go on Monday. What was unclear for me though was whether you need a specific app to enter, how you are billed, how they take the money and what you can do in the event of an error.
@which

Hi Maria - definitely give it a try! The app required is the main Tesco Groceries app and needs a payment method set up on there. The money is taken from your card when you leave. In the event of an error, you can log into the app and tap a button to raise that something is wrong.

I like dealing with people. Plus i recognise that people need employment and that humans are social beings. We need interaction or we go nuts. This model is another steps toward an anti social society, where the customer is just a digital interaction rather than a person. I can see the attraction for the business owner but hate the idea.

I like the idea but don't like the idea of being followed around by cameras, particularly facial recognition cameras, if they are only there to check on products moving around and my biometric data is not stored then I'd love to try it otherwise I would honestly avoid it.

Almost every single store that you go to has cameras that can follow you around. Cruise ships use facial recognition also. Most of London is coved in cameras and you are worried about going into a store and being on camera? LOL

@@jaklg7905 sorry, what I meant is I don't want to be in a store where my biometric data is stored (particularly facial), I was assuming that the other cameras in London don't do that although your message has sobered me me in that regard, they probably all do as it is an unregulated industry.
@jaklg7905

@@zaheeraslam3166 So, as of last year, the cameras that cover London streets use facial recognition. It seems to be the way of the future. I understand your hesitation, but really, places have had you on camera for a long time. The facial recognition technology just takes the man power out of finding you on the video. So instead of a person having to watch the video to find someone, the FR program does it for them. It's not as nefarious as you seem to think it is.

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
