Living in Southern California and our crazy traffic and crazy drivers I appreciate the safety factor of the Cybertruck more then anything - I've had family members including my mother who have been rear ended by bigger cars and almost killed and I would feel very safe with my family in a Cybertruck!

If I was going to buy an EV truck, it would be the Chevy Silverado EV. It has 440 miles of range and a much larger cargo capacity than the Ford or Tesla. I also prefer the appearance of the Silverado.

hard to figure out your pretzel logic on this - total Cybertruck production in 7 months - 11,000. Ford in it's more rapidly developed F150 Lightning sold 12,000 a month in 2022; Ford has since cut production to 1,600 a week or 6,400 a month; or over 30,000 to be made in 2024; a decline from 2023 but still 3-5 times the rate Teslas are being made. Maybe you mean "sales" rather than delivery? Because any Sales by Tesla for Cybertrucks won't be realized for at least 3 or 4 years as the backup is supposedly over 1 million units; and at the current rate of production perhaps 25,000 in 2024?- more on the order of 20 years. Tesla must ditch 4680.

4680 is going just fine. Tesla is battery agnostic anyway. If something better comes they’ll use it.

@@chrishaberbosch1029 Yes that sounds like Tesla - things are fine with the downgraded 4680; sure we were planning to use it throughout the entire vehicle line, but right now; with our focus on the Cybertruck; we need to commit our production to that 2 million backorders - at the current production of 4680's well be caught up by , well lets say no later than 2060.

We should criticize to put pressure on manufacturers, however, Rivian has issues, Tesla has issues, things are improving and it’s the only way forward. Embrace it or be left behind. Once battery range hits 500+ miles, we will see rapid death of ICE vehicles.

Exactly. Best vehicle ever: 48v architecture, steer by wire, 0-60 time 2.6 sec, 4-wheel steering, rust proof body, enclosed secure vault in the back, air suspension, 120v and 220v plugs, V2G and V2H, charge another BEV, best infotainment on the market, it blew up the internet, much stiffer structure than any other pickup, camp mode, rear doors open up to 90 deg., it can float in deep water, HEPA filtered air, giga-castings that improve quality over "competitors," doesn't spew toxins like an ICE truck, has a frunk and under bed storage, has a full sized bed despite being a five seater, Teslas are the safest cars in the world, bullet/rust proof body, etc., etc.

The range of the Cybertruck needs to be 500 miles/805 kilometers for long trips and towing capabilities. I think it’s pathetic that Tesla has been outdone by GM’s electric truck having 440 miles of range. And, that mid gate is really cool. Unfortunately, GM uses old battery tech and I wouldn’t trust the software. Great work truck. I’m having doubts if Tesla’s 4680 battery can ever be as good as CATL, or the new Geely short blade battery that you just posted a video on. I’m ignorant if it’s the form factor of the 4680, or is it the ingredients inside that’s holding it back. The safety and longevity of the short blade battery could literally transform the EV industry! I really hope Geely will sell their battery tech to Tesla. 🤞

It won't happen here in North America with the new tariff on Chinese made parts, batteries, cars, etc. Silverado had to pack huge batteries like the Hummer to beat the tesla range, however don't discount over the air update to increase range of Cybertruck with existing 4680 batteries.

I could be wrong here, but the over the air update to increase battery range was Tesla removing the software battery restrictions put into place. This was due to the new 4680's batteries being produced in some cars but not all cars produced in different factories, and they didn't want to kill sales of cars not having the new batteries.

It's like the EV Market as a whole there are a certain amount of early adopters willing to pay those prices. It will be interesting what price the dual motor settles at. Other than the battery replacement recall, which I don't think our Lightning actually had a problem with, it's been rock solid over closing in on two years. Very easy to maintain, and we charge at home from an off-grid array, that is closing in on 10% payoff already that also powers a mini-split A/C heat pump in the garage. There are so many benefits to these vehicles, but specifically the Lightning benefits from the amount of interchangeable body/trim parts, and current industry repair methods that apply, should it be in an accident. Long term cost of ownership, I can't imagine the CT being anywhere close to the Lightning.

I’m not sure how I really feel about my CYBERBEAST. My dog gets sick when I carry her out and open the door. It’s fun to drive, I have the charging infrastructure set so I can park/charge either in my carport or on the slab where I am planning on putting a garage. The jury is still out.

Tesla should check out the Sakuu battery that Sandy Munro showcased in a recent video and if it pans out, they should swap it over to the Cybertruck instead of the 4680. Should be flat enough and lightweight enough that they could fit additional batteries under the floor of the cargo box to increase the overall range. Or maybe just do that for the cargo box floor and leave the 4680s in place. Don't know if it's possible to mix the two.

Saw one coming down a mountain road in the Inland Empire area of SoCal last weekend. It's a big vehicle. I think the styling is just weird, I wouldn't have one but I'm not the demographic for it anyway.

Won't last, Ford will crush them. Why? Because Ford is by far-and-away the biggest Fleet vehicle seller. They own most that market, with GM being #2 and they're 50% the size of Ford. Rivian is round-off error and Tesla isn't even that market. Ford's CEO just had an hour-long discussion on EV sales and he said that their fleet sales are now 75% electric and expanding FASTER than they predicted. Right now a lot are delivery vans, but their F-150 Lightnings are picking up -- and start at $54,000 USD. Once a couple of major fleets start their buying cycle then Ford's giant fleet dealer network and supporting infrastructure will be a huge accelerator for Ford. I'm already seeing new F-150 Lightnings in use by the Forest Service and local power utility in the wild, coal rolling, anti-EV hills of West Virginia. Note that I'm NOT saying which truck is "best" or even comparing them at all. You like the Cybertruck? Awesome! Like the Lightning? Great! I'm saying Ford is the 900-pound gorilla in the fleet vehicle market and Tesla isn't in it at all and once that fully kicks in...

It’s still got its flaws. But most of those are due to early production problems that you know will be worked out, many of which will be free over-the-air updates. Then, those might be followed up by styling changes that will bring it into a style that is still futuristic but more refined and appealing to those who find the original rather ugly.

The Tesla Cybertruck has the longest bed of the three trucks compared (Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 Lightning). CT bed = 6' Rivian 4.5'

In the first quarter of 2024 all sales of EVs declined to 7.3 percent of the U.S. market, DOWN from a high point of 9.2% reached in 2021. TESLA sales DECLINED from a high of 74.8 % of all new car sales reached in 2021 to 52.1% in the first quarter of 2024.

I saw two Cybertrucks yesterday. I know it was two because one was wrapped. This is a small town in Alabama. I don't know how many I have seen, because they mostly look the same. I've started trying to keep up with them by tag number. Yeah, vaporware my ass.

The cyber truck beats the electric ford 150 in 28 out of 30 specs. This is per a man with over 20 years construction experience.......using various pickups for work.......not for hauling the occasional load of gardening supplies that a surburbanite might put the truck.too..... but real construction work. U can find his report on u tube.....search.....a ford f 150 owner compares the f150 with the cyber truck. This man has owned several f150s and f ,250s in his construction career....

The Cyber truck is Musck's indulgence. Its far too big for export and difficult to manufacture in volume. tesla will have to build a smaller vehicle to manufacture and sell in volume.

I don't know why people can't figure out the range issue. for over 100 years we all know that a regular car with a bigger gas tank goes farther but some how we can't see the same thing with a battery????? are we that stupid? And yes some cars were more fuel efficient than others but they are the exception not the rule. We have made little to progress on fuel economy in 100 years!

Tesla recalled all CT built from November to June 6 to fix the windscreen wiper, total recall 11,688. Sales in last 3 weeks of June close to 4,000, early production was 30-50 a day, now 1,000-1,300 a week. CT looking for total 2024 sales of 50-70,000. Next year well over 100,000, by 2026 250,000 a year. Ford and GM combined won´t exceed 100,000 they can´t afford to because of the losses they incur.

@@robertwoodhouse-bm7kt I forgot about the second recall, so yes 11, 688 units to date, which is about the same as the number of Lightening sales in Q4 '24. Forward projections are highly speculative, so I won't comment on those. Interestingly, Tesla probably won't reveal those numbers either, as they lump the CT, the X and the S all in the same sales figures. Maybe they will be more transparent in the future. They haven't been so far, though, have they.

Cybertruck is the best vehicle ever made in the USA ever (to date) and its not even close but it has so many "firsts" not the least being made like a literal Tank hard to know how the entrance of this massive machine into upon the Global Market plays out at the moment as both Ford and Rivian have been building bev Trucks for some time now added to that GM and soon Dodge. Ford and GM are both so dominant in vehicle sales because of a World War 3 now playing out now also all "run" by ICE platforms Ford and GM are not struggling at all at the moment quite the opposite but of course neither is Tesla. The most important vehicle for "normal" people (use for everyday work) is a Ford product needs noting namely the Ford Maverick which is having a strong 2024. That is made as a hybrid which are the dominant vehicle platform in North America right now by far and not pure play BEV or ICE Platform needs noting. Still battery electrics and in particular Tesla still have a huge impact upon the US economy in a positive way and every other industry player still a distant 2nd to Tesla in every way excepting reliability.

Greetings to you Sir..with all due respect, please be careful when saying cybertruck has no issues with battery technology. Well, if you've owned 1, even for a week, you won't say that..Constructively, you have great content, but I hope you're aware, in a perfect world driving, 340miles with 120 kwh, gives you only 2.8 miles per kwh. And 2.5 miles per kwh, if you get 310 miles, which you know is almost impossible if you drive like a lunatic. Compared to Lucid, very underrated company, can get minimum if 3.2 miles per kwh, upto 5 miles. Tesla needs to make it's battery more efficient, and not dumbest way by adding more batteries to increase range..but thank you for your good content..peace.- cybertruck owner.

As far as I know the Cybertruck is the most efficient pickup truck - you can not really compare it to a Sedan like the Lucid.

Cybertruck won't be allowed in Europe due to its lack of crumple zones. Car safety is all about the inmates being protected but also the people outside of the car (in other cars, pedestrians, bikers, cyclists, scooters,...).

Even though I ordered a CyberTruck when it was first unveiled, I now think it is a really stupid vehicle and a huge opportunity missed by Elon. Tesla should have gone with a more conventional design and concentrated on what people actually want in a pick-up.. If it was a conventional steel body it could have been roomier, quieter, had a better payload, been better looking, had a longer range and been cheaper. It could still have had steer by wire and the 48 Volt architecture, the adjustable suspension and the electric tray cover. That weird shape and that silly stainless steel body has ruined what could have been a great pick-up. I think it will end up being a huge loss maker for the company when it could have been incredibly profitable. And Elon is too stubborn to admit he got it wrong.
