GE did not invent the 3 phase motor. NikolaTesla invented the 2 phase motor while working for Westinghouse. Dobrovinsky invented the 3 phase motor. Tesla invented the 3 phase induction motor. General electric did not exist till Edison electric, and Westinghouse merged and created GE, years after the 3 phase motor was invented.

Tesla is not having any of the problems mentioned here and proof of that is that they are already using this motor on the Plaid, and soon in all their models. Also, some of the info here is kind of incorrect, just look at the comments of some people here.

This is an amazing valuable technology. Surely Tesla is investing in hybrid alloys for making the hairpins. If they could be comprised of a borophene and copper or aluminum braided and swaged wire, who knows what the savings over solid copper could be.

Reign of Hydrogen LOL There are at most 1000 hydrogen stations and maybe 10,000 hydrogen car sales sold at best including in Japan. There 100 times more electric charging stations and millions of electric cars sold every year

What reign of hydrogen powered cars? The hairpin design could be used in a hydrogen powered car as well. The failure of hydrogen has to do with the cost of manufacture - with the energy costs to produce green hydrogen you could power three EVs. Hydrogen is a poor solution to the personal vehicle transition away from fossil fuels.
