Governments want cars off the street. Easiest way to achieve that is to mandate 10k$ of extra safety features in every car that also increase repair costs of any collision by another 10k$ due to the 100 sensors and wiring harness that have to be replaced along with the bumpers, maybe the computer too if 12/48V goes into the wrong wire along the way.

We in the U.K. used to have a car manufacturing industry back in the 70s. Speaking of increasing costs, have you seen how much a new windshield costs with all the sensors they integrate into the glass (including the ABS systems)? I got my old pick-up truck's sensorless windshield replaced for $300, took the shop staff one hour to do it. A lady in the shop got her sensor-filled Lexus windshield replaced and it cost $1600, it took three hours to install the glass and re-program the car's computer systems to the new sensors. Keeping my old truck running keeps looking better and better all the time.

So far, I haven't had any issues with the autobraking in my Ford Mustang or Maverick, which is great. And if they ever start to glitch, I can at least turn the system off. My sister; however, used to own, let me restate, used to own, a new Jeep Cherokee. While driving down the freeway, out of nowhere, it would just slam on the brakes while traveling at 65mph. She took it in for service, but nothing was ever done/fixed. After the 3rd time it happened, she forced them to buy it back.

I have that braking system now and when another car changed lane in front of my car it caused my brakes to slam on at 60 miles an hour I was traveling. The car pulled over close to my front end causing the brakes to slam on. When I went home the neighbor who works for the dealership told me how to shut it off.

Automatic braking and steering is really annoying, I just drove a base model 2024 Corolla Cross for a few days that had this feature and the car would brake on stop signs before I even touched the brake pedal and kept steering against me as I was trying to avoid big potholes on the highway. I decided to let it steer by itself after that and just a few seconds after I did that, It warned me to put my hands back on the steering wheel! And the cruise control is confusing and annoying to use. On a flat highway, the engine speeds surges constantly to keep the car speed steady.

You cant say they have triple the amount of generators since 2010 and now they made 2% less. How many more windmills were there from 2022 to 2023? Did they build any? Maybe some older ones are offline now. Either way it's stupid expensive technology for the little it produces. Nuclear is the best way.

My former commander in the Air Force was stationed at the Pentagon years ago. He told me that a contractor had been paid handsomely for years doing no work. Turns out the guy would carry a small step ladder around the halls of the Pentagon wearing a hard hat and tool belt. His scam was discovered when he fell off said ladder and filed a claim. Safety officer investigated and found out he had been paid for nearly a decade.

Haha! I don't know it might make US drivers drive more sensible like not tailgating like they do if a car has automatic emergency braking, the Mazda 6 has it get too close to the car in front and it will apply the brakes and that is without having the Cruise control on.

Im pretty sure the new ones will have all the sensors abd brakes, my 2013 ATS4 perf had some kind of auto braking for skidding and sliding, but not for objects, I planned on disabling it, if I kept the car, it would lock the inside wheel if you slid around a corner, I didn't like it, it takes over the braking too much, its actually dangerous in winter. Other than that and the shitty cvt tansmission the car was great lol

@@user-gg1qm8ox4r we are in Hawaii. Charge port rusted and had to be replaced. (No garage), charge cable also rusted and stopped working. One of the batteries died less than a year, not the main one though, I think it was a 24v battery? There was a loose part of the body that vibrated constantly that had to be repaired. To be fair Tesla fixed everything at no cost and we do love driving it. There’s been a few other issues I don’t recall.

The wind turbine and solar panel do not generate enough electricity to even justify the cost of production let alone disposal. Nuclear on the other hand is proven tech that can generate massive amounts of electricity at a far cheaper price than other "green" energy.

I'm adamant that adding all these automatic braking systems and lane control stuff in cars only makes drivers worse. The further you try removing the driver from actually driving with these systems, the more crashes we get because drivers nowadays have no idea how to function without some of this stuff, or they think it will save them.
