This is the Tesla Model 3 Long Range Performance! It's the car we have been been waiting quite some time for! Now that it's here, I want to discover everything that the Long Range offers, how it fairs for Canadian buyers and, most critically, what is it like to drive?

If you're planning to buy a Tesla, you still referral code for 6 months of free Supercharging: ts.la/mark75027 Side note: I send the cars through an automatic wash before I shoot my reviews. Sadly, it was such a wet and snowy day, my visit to the car wash was immediately countered by the roads... Anyways, please enjoy my review of the Tesla Model 3 Performance!

Really excellent review man - you have a “come ride along with me” style which comes across really well and you have a very natural constant delivery of information (technical as well as impressions) that have a professional feel to them. You are a natural at this and clearly love cars. It comes across and is appreciated!

Do some more 45 - 80’s for us! Great, instructive presentation, but I’m just not tempted to go electric. Lot of novelty at play here, but I accept that it really is one helluva car. I’m not a fan of the stark interior. And I’m just not ready for a touchscreen interface to set my wiper intervals. However, it’s a genuine look at the future. Soon, we will all have cars with a froot. Nice job Max!

David DiStefano Laregly true, but I think you still need to disable that feature when going into a car wash, for example ( lest the brushes rip the wipers off). My previous experience with Rain Sense wipers was on a GM car, and I found them inconsistent. I ended up setting the interval on my own.

........ no tension-related shoulder and lumbar cramping. And no range anxiety between superchargers. Superchargers are less than 200 miles apart along the Gulf coast. It's also nice to be able to avoid and/or escape difficult highway traffic situations by the judicious and silent use of instant insane acceleration.

this car should be the standard. internal combustion should not be around..the big difference between this and the Kia Niro EV is that it has the charging network and better ecosystem electronis aps and so on... still it's way way way to expensive for me here in Europe.. don't know how much you Canadians make in a month but average salaries here are under 2k and in the upper range it's 2.5 to 3k and in the upper,upper range it's 4 to 5k.. i don't see any one in the middle or low segment buy a 58K car that's for the long rage model..also here in The Netherlands you pay 4% tax for cars up to 50K above 50K you pay 22% lot's of folks seem to be disconnected with reality i guess.

An 190 PS Comfortline Passat costs around 45000 in Germany at it sells like hell. Yes, 58K is a lot of money but compared to what you get it is a fair price :)
@samdeur
@samdeur 5 жыл бұрын
@@FrozenPlasmaOfficial_YT . i can't judge if it's fair as i have never seen the numbers, meaning the cost of material production shipping and so on.. the only way for me to judge the price is looking at the promise Elon made. that is to make an affordable mass production car. i might not be a person that can fork out 58K like i'm buying a smartphone but looking at the majority of cars on the road i can say i'm not in the minority. a have talked to a few car sales people and pretty much all say the same that the majority of new cars being sold are company leas cars. meaning fewer normal folks that don't get a lease car buy a car.. now there is private leas but that's a different story...Also Germany is the only EU country that has a surplus when it comes to money hahaha.. but i do agree with you Tesla does give you a lot for your money the big thing Tesla has going for it is the charging station for when you go on long trips say vacation.. The Kia Niro EV (same range) is completely sold out here.... i guess if you have the money everything is fair at the end of the day.. nice talking to you...

My issue is that Elon said it would be a $35k car for the average person, and it clearly isn't. I understand that there is the CAD dollar conversion - so $35k USD should probably be about $47,500 CAD. However this model is $88k CAD???

35K model has not started production yet. This will have shorter range (220 miles) and not the premium interior. Should start production this year. The Tesla approach to production is to start with the most expensive models to build profit quickly and then produce the more affordable models (hence Roadster followed by model S/X followed by model 3).
@tlf361
@tlf361 5 жыл бұрын
Our Model 3 (with an additional Premium package, non-standard paint, a much larger battery than the 35K USD or 47,500 CAD base model, etc.) only came out to around 58K CAD all in, including taxes, rebate, and other fees (i.e. delivery fees). That's not bad at all, albeit the (cash) rebate lowered the price significantly. But taxes here are also quite high, which offsets most of the rebate. That's a grand total of 42K USD to walk out with the car. Not bad.
@tlf361
@tlf361 5 жыл бұрын
@Angry Trucker Not what you sure by "owe taxes"... Anyone who can afford a Tesla pays their taxes; only people who don't "owe taxes" are people who don't have a salary, or don't pay their taxes for whatever reason...
@stephen9609
@stephen9609 5 жыл бұрын
@@tlf361 $58K CAD is "not bad" but its also not for the "average" person - it's still a premium priced car and it still goes against the idea of making Teslas available for the masses like the Model T was when Ford released it (wasn't that the whole idea behind the Model 3?). And you mentioned that the $58K is after rebates - well in Ontario they removed the rebates so it would be even more expensive than that.

It's so much better to scroll through a screen with 1 to 5 steps rather than just turn a knob or just a button. It's also good to make sure information is displayed somewhere you are not looking while driving. 60K buys 3 Hyundai Ioniqs getting 58 mpg but Tesla is such a great deal. Repairs are a nightmare which makes Tesla more fun. When the warranty run out you get to either go bankrupt repairing it or get rid of it. Sign me up. Red is only 2500 dollars more. What a deal.
