Model S by a long shot. The Model S you can tell is different than the other models and looks so beautiful. It has a presence on the road! I just got mine 2 weeks ago- I get compliments on it all the time.

My, what a difference a few months makes. I can buy a new M3P for $46,250 right now using the $7,500 federal tax credit. And the MSLR is $92,000. That’s nearly $20K less than 8 months ago for the M3P.

Ok I am confused with the model S LR. She says it is a S performance and both have 3.1 0-60? Looking at YT I have seen people say the LR is a beast at 10second 1/4miles? But again people say LR Performance Base Plaid. With both models supposedly being 3.1 0-60 is the LR really that much top end? 10 sec vs 12sec 1:4mile?

@@Murphys_Law9 far far faster after 50 mph , highway passing power puts it in the realm of 800 hp gas cars . M3p is quick to 50-60 then falls off . I own a stealth performance model 3. The moment you crack 60 the base s is so much faster it leaves the 3 for dead. It out accelerates the p100d 60-130 by multiple seconds and even has a faster 60-130 vS the taycan turbo s.

Model S looks alot sportier, Lower, Wider, more aggressive, Larger. The model 3 has always looked like a stubby cute hatch back to me that sits too high.

I have the 22' MS LR, but it feels HEAVY. The M3P is more nimble. 0-60 times are the same, but the highway 60+ acceleration on the S LR is unreal. It feels like I'm launching from a standstill...even at 60mph!

Neither car are very spacious. The glass gives the illusion that it has more room but it's not. If you want to see how much space it really have find something to cover the glass inside and reality will sync in.

Model S is a tinny bit faster, and the S gets noticeably faster on the freeway. Also more range , space , and S trunk is touring style so major cargo space like a hatchback almost . However, my model3 P has one advantage, and that’s handling . It’s not a tank like the S , so it stops much better , you can comfortably toss it around tight roads and it comes with a drift/track mode 😊. Also , in teslas you don’t actually need to put the gear selector in “park” like a caveman/ cavewoman. Simply exit the vehicle and it will shift into park on it’s own. I assume most people who aren’t clueless drive around in “hold mode” so they don’t need to keep their foot on the brake pedal.

good points however you forgot to mention that the suspension on the Model 3 is horrendous which was a deal breaker for me. Need an air suspension option.

0-60 is close; however, there is actually a huge difference in highway acceleration after 60 mph between the current S LR and Tesla 3 perf!! Tesla LR 60-130 is in the upper 7 sec Tesla 3 perf 60-130 is 13 sec Tesla S Plaid 60-130 is 4.6-5 sec (confirmed with Dragy testing) per Dragy leaderboards. There are videos on KZfaq as well. I own a 22' S Plaid and used to own a Tesla M3P for 3 years. The S Plaid is heavy and big but does handle quite well for most day to day situations. Round steering wheel greatly helps. Braking isn't terrible at sane speeds, especially if they were properly burnished. There's also the now available track pack brakes which are world class.. I like you do prefer the 3 for around town and small maneuvers. If Tesla ever comes out with a Tesla 3 Plaid, I'll strongly consider it, even if its a little slower.

When we knew we wanted a Tesla, we were stuck between these two models! They are both high end performers. However, we wanted to know which one would be the best value for us plus provide high speed and storage. That’s why we made this video! To help people in our exact situation. We ended up getting both because when we choose the Model S first we fell in love and knew we wanted the Model 3 too! :)

I understand what you are saying. But for some of us they are good comparison candidates. I am thinking of trading in my 2022 MSLR for a 2022 M3P. Mainly because i like the smaller size of the M3 and that it's sound system is as good as MS. I do prefer the exterior and interior design of the MS! Yes, a 'first world' problem!

I originally really wanted the plaid but it’s out of budget. Trying to decide whether S within budget or model 3 performance way under budget since they both go the same speed in 0-60

Teslas automated features and self driving in and all that is absolutely stellar and the best in the business but please do not call a Tesla a luxury experience. It is not luxury by any means if you take away those $20,000 batteries, a.k.a. added cost to the vehicle suddenly that $55,000 price is $30,000 it is no better than a Camry or a Ford fusion etc. in terms of both style amenities and let alone reliability and build quality even the $80,000 model X if you take away the $25,000 battery it’s 55,000 which puts it around a full-size vehicle like a Hyundai palisade or a midsize SUV, like a Nissan, Pathfinder, etc.
