@UnlinealHand 7 жыл бұрын
If I owned this I don't think I would relax. It's not really "autopilot" how everyone would think it is. It's not a self-driving car. It's assisted cruise control. You're still responsible as the operator of the vehicle to navigate it properly. Doug even said int he last video that in bumper to bumper it's nice that it will creep automatically or on super long highway cruises with no lane changing or turnoffs it's nice. But it won't recognize red lights or stop signs or cross traffic well enough to take you from Point A to B with zero driver input.

***** Take meaningful lyrics, ...... add acoustic instruments played by people who actuallly understand music, ........ and add some serious vocals by someone who casn actuallu sing ... for hours durinc concert, not seconds in studio. And now you have music for non-retarded part of population.
@Richardicus881
@Richardicus881 7 жыл бұрын
You may not realize it, but dance music is often recorded using regular instruments. Guitars, drums, piano's, anything you might want to use for acoustic music, might be used to produce EDM, or any electronic music for that matter. If you really think about it, electronic music is not even that different from, for example, rock music. In rock music, the guitar sound is nothing like what is actually played on the instrument itself, it is distorted, reverb is added, or at least changed to whatever sound the band would like to go for. That being said, you did mention that you prefer the sound of acoustic music, so this isn't much of an argument here. I do wonder though if your opinion on EDM is similar to your opinion on rock music (if you disregard the lyrics). Myself, I prefer electronic music since a lot of (mostly pop) music contains (in my opinion) worst lyrics known to mankind. Exhibit A would be Pitbull. I agree that EDM lyrics are extremely bad, yet I feel like EDM doesn't pretend to be something more than it is. Plus, I kind of like music that you doesn't distract that much. But that of course is quite personal. Of course I respect that you dislike EDM, yet I think your opinion on it doesn't give the creators (or the people who listen to it) the credit they deserve. Most of these people (creators anyway) really dó understand music, but they use it in a way that just doesn't comply with your taste. Just saying that people who prefer this kind of music are dumb seems short-sighted and uninformed to me. "sorry for bad English", must be my sub-par IQ ;).

The difference between renting one and owning one is the key to sorting out a couple of the "quirks" that are mentioned in this and the other video. One tongue in cheek "complaint" from the other video involved the "pigeon wing" doors not opening in tight parking spaces.. and you again mentioned your tight parking space. Want to solve that? Just stop short where you can actually get out.. and summon the car into the tight space. Get in? Just summon it out. I've done this many times now and the amazement of those passing by is epic.

I test drove one in the UK and you had to indicate and have your hands on the steering wheel before autopilot would change lanes. I assume it was a UK legislation thing but it meant there really was no advantage over the BMW/Merc/Audi radar guided cruise control.
@RubenKelevra

Andy C you should keep the hands on the steering wheel at all time. So wheres the trouble with just doing this? In USA there is no check for "hands on the wheel" while changing lanes.
@andyca15
@andyca15 7 жыл бұрын
Ruben Kelevra the system forced you to hold with both hands in the 10 to 2 position. The motor moved the wheel for you but it just moves your hands as well as the wheel. With power steering I just didn't see the point. We can talk about the semantics of what constitutes being in "full control of the vehicle" but if you are expecting a hands off system where all you have to do is keep an eye on the situation this is not it. (In the UK at least)

honestly even if they are manual doors, you can still slam them on fingers. I am just pointing out that finger accidents in doors are not only unique to automated doors. I don't own this car, but looking at how slowly the door closes, the fact that you have to press a button, means you should have plenty of time to react. I would assume most people would let their passengers know that 'I'm closing the door now' ahead of time before actually closing them. I would suggest that most accidents would be due to human error and carelessness, rather than the car.
@anonimushbosh
@anonimushbosh 7 жыл бұрын
Gabe Yim No, you're missing the point. It's a very easy scenario to imagine; kids are in the car and the door closes remotely and accidentally whilst a little finger is near a hinge or in a door pillar. I'm not saying that can never happen with ordinary doors (someone can bump a door closed with their ass etc); I'm saying that with better sensors it could not happen with a Tesla and I'm curious about whether or not that potential problem has been fixed.
@playerslayer888
@playerslayer888 7 жыл бұрын
I see the point you are trying to convey. I can see the importance of these safety mechanisms. Of course it would be best that they are addressed. But in a realistic standpoint, that would increase cost of production, research teams will need to be employed, and the cost of the car would probably increase. I would assume that most companies may have thought about this aspect, and considered that the risk of an accident with these doors are low enough to not have to put in additional resources and time into developing. Again, I would like to say that you put up good points, and it would be great if this car model would have better sensors to prevent said accidents. But that could be said with any mechanical machinery. There are many work related incidents in factories and whatnot that have led to limbs being lost, or major physical harm to the worker. The same can be said that they should also have sensors or mechanisms that would have protected the user from harm. It usually just comes down to human error in the end though, but there are exceptions. I just ask that you look at a bigger picture, and that not everything could be addressed. Manufacturers have probably put some thought into these potential accidents, and have determined that the small amount of risk is not enough for them to pour in alot more time and resources into. there are not enough benefits for the people funding and designing. In a perfect world though, every piece of machinery would have some safety mechanism for every possible accident, and no one would ever suffer machine related injuries. But that is just unrealistic.
