I'm putting my guess as this might be where the casino is in TDU SC, or Ibiza is coming as some distant update/sequel which the former makes more sense until the latter is finished. No idea, but at this point, I can't see it being some shout to fans, it's gotta be bigger than this...

If KT didn't get access to the assets when they bought the IP, why are we seeing vehicles specific to TDU2? The same year / model Beetle, 2CV, Dune Buggy, CLK55, 370Z, etc. Especially the CLK and 370Z. Both models have seen updates since 2010, and yet we are getting 2010 era cars confirmed for TDUSC. To be clear im not complaining about it, I just find it interesting. I'm thinking they did get assets at least from TDU2. Obviously the maps were built for and entirely different game engine and system, so that produces it's own challenges. I would love to see a modern recreation of Ibiza in TDUSC, and this new teaser image has me hyped.

Maybe they didn't have the finished assets, but did have research, notes, or building blocks that enabled easier assembly of these assets, particularly if some of the TDU2 Devs have joined KT to work on this project. Another thought might be that modern vehicles are so focused on assists and emissions and lap times that they are less fun to drive than their older counterparts.

@@Ryzza5 yeah exactly, could have also been they waned to add some key cars from TDU2 and throw them in with some new ones, but yeah personally I don't see them having access to the assets

@@TheAlexVII the Buggy from the trailer is literally the exact buggy from TDU2 though. I don't believe it's based on any actual real buggy, so why would they rebuild the exact same model for TDUSC? It seems to me like they had access to the model somehow. Same goes for the CLK55. It's hardly a memorable car, there were later iterations with AMG power plants and more amenities. The only thing I can think of is that it was Tess Wintory's car in TDU2. But the player won it.. so again that raises more questions than answers.

It makes sense. In TDU2 we get the map of O'ahu from TDU. The maps exists, but they only a rework. I love the Ibiza map, because it is the only 1:1 european map in all games. Hawaii and Ibiza in TDU2 was on the opposite site of the world, but the developer didn't showed in their trailer that Hawaii will be there.

Still would prefer Oahu. I always loved TDU 1 and 2 because it was a 1:1 Oahu. Maybe not all the streets and everything else, but the island was. The Crew Motorfest is just another generic shaped, wanna-be, shrunken Oahu with a volcano on the west side that doesn't even exist. Ibiza would be cool to come back with more detail than before, but I loved in Oahu. It's nice to drive in a game where you've actually lived. That's just my opinion. Hopefully at some point we could get a renewed Oahu to drive around on. 🫤

Thanks Alex ! This game is litterally a beautiful jewel, so knowing it could be more suprising with Ibiza as a DLC or a Casino Island is amazing. In real life the Casino is at Macao, right ? It can't be just a blink of an eye ... It could also makes sense that 5 years to develop 2 maps to 1/1 scale is possible. KT racing team is brilliant !! My mind is focusing on TDU every single day, that's my dream game and it's becoming a reality soon. Love you guys !!

I mentioned to another person the homage would be the Tess Wintory like player username in the trailer, putting trip to Ibiza with a decipher tool, with clearly not an irl picture and not AI either (so it has to be a screenshot of something), is sus as hell, and paying a concept artist to make a shot of this exact area for a homage? Nah impossible, there’s gotta be something bigger than that to me

It's probably be a casino place but it will be cool if they actually make the whole island and I'm don't mind if it wont be 1:1 scale. Before this info about Ibiza location, I thought that the devs can make new island dlc as Ibiza, like TDU 2 had Hawaii from the first game.

they brought up something like that in newsletter 3 with "But there are very few limits to Radiant's ambitions, and many investment projects are already being explored for future years. These projects include real-estate projects that would directly contribute to Radiant's growth and global influence of the Solar Crown and its ever-increasing number of members." so it's safe to say houses will be coming post launch

why not? a map is a map, with the resources KT has with all the tools made and such, making a larger map is possible. It all depends on the end goal for KT and Nacon, but it makes perfect sense on why adding another map makes sense, plus it's not like there are any islands that are smaller than HKI lol, HKI contrast Ibiza as Oahu did to Ibiza, and Ibiza was smaller than Oahu

Forgive me for being a buzzkill, but I'm pretty sure they are not working on any Ibiza DLC or map. They have a lot of work with Hong Kong Island and the upcoming content that will take place on the same map. It's more likely that players will just be able to find a lot of these 'easter eggs' from the Test Drive franchise, and the devs are working on a scavenger-hunt type challenge where looking for and deciphering clues from TDU origins gives players rewards.

Not something that’s easy to code on with a small dev size on a AA budget when it’s a teams first time with online tbh, maybe we’ll see it post launch. But I’m not bothered about it, and didn’t expect it either when even TCM isn’t crossplay in free roam to be fair.

Casino in Ibiza seems most realistic. Just small bay area with casino in it. Probably we would be able just to walk around that place. I wouldnt hope for anymore of Ibiza. It simply way to big. Rather other parts of Hong Kong maybe.

I want to point out, you do NOT need to use the cipher tool to decode the text, it’s literally just moving the letters one place back in the alphabet (A=Z, B=A, C=B etc)… The REAL puzzle here is, Why did they misspell the word TRIP? - That has to be a clue about something.

It is also pronounced IbiZa as per the Catalan dialect from the island area. Both versions are correct to pronounce, source: I also speak Spanish
