nice to see the 171k miles. I'm getting a used one in a few days with 107k but its had good maintenance records. I got the warranty though so O\I'm wondering if I shoulda saved the money and just started buying parts instead, but the Timing chain tensioner scared me. how long have you had the stage two tune? I live in CO was worried maybe getting the stage two might throw my extended warranty.

I don’t have the q7 anymore. Got totaled in a rock/sand storm. Destroyed the whole front. If you can just run some hot shots secret stiction eliminator. Ran it in my q7 and now in my A6 TDI and it went from 2-3 second timing rattle to 0-1 seconds max. I just followed the directions. I’d do a stage 1 tune and get plugs for all the sensors that you remove.

I just did a delete on my 15 Q7 TDi. I got the tunezilla stage 1 tune and malone dpf, resonator delete pipes. It was in limp mode from a clogged dpf filter before and also had a code for the egt sensor number 2 before the turbo. It runs a lot better with the tune and delete pipes but it is sluggish when under load, like going up a hill when starting off until after 1,500 rpm. It still has a check engine light on from the egt sensor. Do you think that could be why it’s sluggish, it’s like there’s a dead spot. Thanks for any input.

If your DPF is pluged, then I can almost guarantee that your intake valves need to be clean because they’re probably almost completely shut would soot. If you’re mechanically inclined, and have about a day and a house, you can clean the valves with walnut hill on sandblaster kit for it on eBay or they use to.

I love my TDI but Carb has killed it, u should see the soot build up on my intake and egr smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

With the delete what temperature do the exhaust gases need to be to keep from melting the turbo and everything on the hotsideof the turbo and exhaust?

With my OBD Eleven tool I was at 820° up the Cajon Pass it’s a pretty good size hill. I’m sure it could see 1200° before doing any damage but I’m not too certain.

Would you recommend the a tuned Q7 TDI for a family of 5? Currently have a Suburban and 3 other diesel vehicles for the family and will be driving a lot of highway miles. How is high mileage reliability and highway fuel mileage?

Depending on the size of the people in your family. I had five grown railroaders in it and it was cramped. High mileage depends on previous owner or owners. Tuned and deleted Hwy mileage was around 32 mpg with myself and about 400 pounds of work gear and clothes. It’s very reliable if previous owners took care of it. It does require special oils with 507.00, whatever that means haha. But overall I really liked it. But now I got an A6 TDI and like it just as much.

I don’t have the q7 anymore but if I did, I would just install everything back on every 2 years.

Why is the torque gain really low? I gained 94lbft giving me a total of 426lbft

I’m not sure. Maybe a different tune. I believe the 09-13 get better gains than the 13.5-15s but I’m probably wrong.

Yes I went from 24.7 to 32.5 with the cleaning, tun and DPF delete. Tomorrow I’ll see how much better it gets with the catalytic converter deleted too. Hopefully another 2-3 MPGs.

we have a 15 q7 TDI with a malone tune for the past 95K km.. holding up fine... it's my wife's car and we get 9.4L/100km mixed driving. Emissions hardware still intact.

It’s not called deleting anymore. It’s called putting it how it was designed. Hahahaha I loved my q7 but couldn’t find another good one for the money insurance was giving me.
