Today I decided to take a test ride in the Chevy Silverado 3500HD Duramax Dually. Although it can be a little stiff ride on a bumpier roads for the most part it is a very comfortable ride.

Up until 2013 I had 9 trucks on the road, we decided to downsize and we sold the 3 3500's that we had. Seeing you drive this one makes me miss the ones that we had which were not nearly as nice as this one...

I had a chev 2500 diesel duramax! Flat out great truck . I used to pull a 26 ft toy box with a rhino and 4 quads . Loaded down it would pull it no problem. It was a long bed . It pulled the trailer with like it had nothing hooked up to it . It did ride stiff but that was due to the type of truck it is . Straight up power but a smooth ride that you don’t release your driving at a fast speed. I miss it the worse decision I made was to sell it . I paid 65,000.00 for it if I remember correctly . We would go to glamis yearly . Great memories! I truly believe chev makes the best truck for towing . Allison trans . The best ! Great review it’s a lot of truck . Have to consider Its a truck to make sure you park away from other cars and it’s long gated in length. It’s a beast . Lastly very reliable!

To really test it you should pull a house off its foundation. In my youth I "car jockeyed" for my cousin's dealership. He bought LOTS OF Corvettes from Michigan so we'd drive up there and race them back. I sometimes miss those simple days of fun, minimum wage driving...

Had to buy a Super Duty last November. No dealer stock in our area for Chevrolet or GMC to even look at to compare. Although, I have been a Chevy person for years. Now you got me thinking about trading...lol.

Great video as always Dave! Love the look and style of that truck. My 2008 2500HD (new body style) is paid off and only has 90k, so for a work truck I'm going to keep it a while longer, but love the style and look of the new HD's.

Thanks for your Videos on this beast, I have just ordered mine in the Blue color, and as I was watching you pick the truck to drive, i was like...." Pick the Blue one!..." Mine is 8 weeks left before it arrives, hopefully on time. Do you have detailed videos on the trailering system, how to hook up the gooseneck, maybe some towing tips and tricks? Can't wait to get mine in!

Excellent driving lesson on a Dually. Just wish Chevy would build a 3/4 ton or HD Suburban for the public instead of government use. The engine brake helps when pulling a heavy trailer or fifth wheel similar to a Jake Brake on a Semi truck.

One thing GM Ford and Stellantis have learned from the pandemic is never build more units than you have to sell under msrp. I used to love the end of year sales with the huge discounts. Those days are gone for ever.

Are there any restrictions on how many miles you can put on a new vehicle while still selling them as new? (i.e. customer test drives, salesperson drives, etc.)

not that I know of.. I'd say most of our vehicles are sold with pretty low miles. Especially now that vehicles are selling so fast.

Either way they both make great family vehicles. Just comes down to your personal style and bank account. I'd say the Traverse would make the better choice because it can do pretty much everything the Tahoe can do and it for quite a bit less money.

Why do Chevy dealers never order anything but black interiors? I know this is probably a customer order, but damn!

Black is a universal color as it goes with any exterior. This reduces cost and necessary inventory. Also, black hides dirt better than light colors, making it more desirable for people with pets and/or kids. I guess that's why seat covers were invented in so many colors and patterns that go with black or light grey. You can never please everyone, so cost effectiveness keeps it all simple for manufacturers and dealers. No different than painting the insides of residences in neutral colors. You can always change the colors to your personal liking. You can can order a vehicle with your choice of interior, or get interior redone at a nice fee. You look at all brands of cars and they have a handful, if that, of interior colors. I guess if you have the money, you can get whatever color outside and inside that you desire. Color is an issue in pretty much everything you want to buy like shoes, clothes, furniture, etc. ...unless you can afford custom made.
