I reckon if he could afford the engines, the fuel would be the easy part, me, a 2.5 horse kicker is just fine with a 1/2 gallon tank

Incredible the technology in boats now. I'm a Marine audio installer and new boats are becoming similar to cars with everything being controlled by data and drive by wire. That active leg steering is unreal. Living on a lake, we don't see many big rigid inflatables like that. Brilliant video, appreciate the post!

The reason for the active leg steering is because of how heavy it is. It is much easier to steer the bottom end than it is to tilt the whole outboard.

Honestly a little bit unusual view to see such a big stand alone engine… for sure efficient but two or three smaller look better to me…only my opinion! Great Boat, thx for the video!

As a former outboard mechanic from the 80’s who’s day to day was OMC and Merc/Mariner 2 strokes this is really amazing. On weekends we ran the Evinrude 235 and seeing the first of the OMC V8s on the twin rig of Danny Bertels (3.5L 500HP each) was so advanced in 83. Would love to have a good look at these big Merc V12’s, impressive video, cheers. 👍

At WOT it’s 50 gallons per hour and if you keep it at it’s cruise speed of 4,500rpm then it’s half that.

I didn't realise so many boaters were this 'special': it's just 'review' after review of this engine with no clips at all of the sound of the thing when running!! Unbelievable. How do you people survive to get that old with that level of IQ?

Drinks fuel like a sailor on shore leave. 170 liters per hour aren’t as bad as a rain engine aircraft. IMO the whole idea behind twin engines is redundancy at 1200 plus pounds each, not many boat builders are going to select placing 2400 pounds on the transom plate. As they say, if you have to ask how much, you can’t afford it anyway.

Now to me. That engine looks quite small. Much smaller than a car angine of comparable displacement.. Again it looks to me. Pleae correct me. If I'm wrong. But I'm currently wandering how do I get it to fwork in a car or bike

Just think of those Yank boats pushed by 4 x 600 hp @ 185 litres/hr at WOT = 740 litres / hr @ $2.30 = $1,700 / hr... cruise at $700 / hr... ouch... ah... the environment!!!

This is impressive no doubt, but mercury how about better engineering to bring about far better quality. Leaning suzuki. Why ? Simple. I see to many Mercury's with problems. Flywheels that are soft and the starter wears the flywheel out. Overheating problems. Caused by coolant lines cheaply installed and 4 strokes that smoke like a 2 cycle. Plus motors are too far advanced. After 10 years who will work on the motors without the neccessary expensive test gear. Once the dealer wants nothing to do with you and your older boat. Hmmmm
