Today I'm testing out three interesting kitchen gadgets, all of them by request, and all which seem to be pretty useful. I put them to the test and here are my results. One note: The Ninja chopper was about $20 when I bought it a few months ago but it looks like the price has gone up since then!

I much prefer your reviews than others I've seen on KZfaq. The main reasons are, you get right to the point, show what you really get and how easy or hard it is to set up, really try it out live to show how easy or hard it is to use and really show how functional it is. I find you very trustworthy and honest. I like that you don't joke around or give long anecdotes about your life. Also, seeing Bailey is a big bonus.

Love my super cube! Have been using it for well over a year. There are just some dishes you just can't make a small amount of and for empty nesters this solves the problem. Also if you have elderly family members you fix meals for, it's wonderful! I freeze the blocks, then put either in a small freezer bag or vacuum seal it for longer storage.

I have all sorts of silicon moulds of various sizes. These are far too expensive for me. Silicon is silicon. Mine's not branded, cheap, abd $2 or $3 each. I buy the cheapest I see when there is an offer online. Ricer is dumb. I use a meat grinder. Ninja's too expensive for me. Mine's literally unbranded anywhere. But cup is metal, about 2x larger, $8, and chops up all sorts of stuff, from meat, to carrots, onions, and garlic. Grinding up carrots on the manual ricer will be a LOT of work. I used mandoline, and even that was tiring. I have a dog who's now eating mostly veggies. He's constantly hungry, and when he arrived, he was so overweight his body was round like a fat hotdog. Vet suggested less meat and more veggies. More bulk, less calories. I have now switched to giving them raw instead of cooked for the same reason.
@robinbrook5624
@robinbrook5624 28 күн бұрын
@@danielch6662 - But not all silicon molds are created equal! I have many, some fir baking, some for candy making and yet more for crafting. Some of the cheapies are much thinner and don't hold shape as well or last as long. Also not all silicon is food grade, so it's important to be able to know and trust the seller.

7:30 Just skip the middleman and put the soup in the freezer bags to freeze. 1 cup of soup is not enough for most people but if that's what you're aiming for, most ladles are 1/2 cup so two scoops into a bag and presto, 1 cup of soup.

I use souper cubes, and have learned to hold the ladle over a paper bowl on the way to the cubes, so most of the drippage goes in the bowl and can be recovered. I also tend to stash the frozen bricks in a vacuum sealed bag, then heat them back up in the sous vide machine.

I have some knock off super cubes. The knock offs with more rounded edges work better. The sharp angles make the frozen product tougher to release. I used the large cubes for leftovers all the time. Thanks for mentioning the reusable bags. I am working my way through my original plastic bag supply (I wash and reuse the "disposable" plastic bags so the supply will last a long time), but once they're gone, I'll be using mainly the silicone, truly reusable ones.

Tip for long-term freezing of soup blocks: Wrap each cube in plastic wrap before putting it in a freezer bag. Your freezer's automatic defrost cycle will cause them to fuse together in a single block otherwise.

For both the meat patty and stew freezing thing, once it has froze, you can take it out and individually packed them into maybe ziploc bag or vacuum bag then chuck it into the freezer, it would take up less space without the freeze tray. Never put hot foods into silicone or wash in hot water. Wipe the food off with baking soda first, before soap and warm water. If what you have is 100% silicone, you heat it in the oven, and it will release the odors. I have even done the gasket for a thermal mug in the oven. The silicone expands when it is heated. So, the odors become trapped in between the molecules as it cools. When heated it lets them back out.

Thanks for the meal prep gadgets. I don't like making hamburger patties by hand or paying a higher price for pre-made patties. That hexagon press looked great.

Why can't you just use ziplock baggies instead of a super cube lol

A potato masher and ricer will do the same job to steamed cauliflower. No extra tools or pwer required. 😊

I might pick up that Super Cubes. Mom and I make a lot of soups and stews ahead to freeze and I think these will be perfect. Plus, I won't keep running out of dishes lol.

The burger press is pretty neat. I have one that does individual burgers, but never did my mind conceive you could press eight burgers all at once!

Never had any use for a burger press rather make them by hand and save washing a dish and the space required to store it. I have plenty of containers i could freeze portions of soup and etc without the need for a specific item for it. I have no need for the ricer as i don't eat my veggies that way.

At 1st, I thought the burger press was pretty good. It *is* if you need to store flat. Otherwise, why not just flatten it out in a pan, or even on the counter, cut in a grid, & stack with paper between or lay flat in a bag? Pretty much the same with the next one. If you have to put food away while warm &/or transport it somewhere & it has to be that shape. Otherwise, regular containers should suffice. I wouldn't want to store or wash either of those. Same for the ricer. I agree that it's good if you need to make it frequently &/or have multiple uses &/or if power is a factor. Always nice to see Bailey & always a pleasant vid.

I really like the first 2 products, I wonder if you were to spray the burger press and the ice thing with a little pam cooking spray, they may pop out easier, I like them though!! The ricer thing I don't think I have a use for, at least not yet, lol. As always, great video my friend!

I agree about the first two being the best! If those burgers had been more of a problem to pop out, I would have sprayed it, and that probably is the solution if they are difficult to remove.

Souper Cubes... I saw someone on Dragon's Den pitching frozen food like that, for portion control. I thought it was genius. Dragons weren't interested. I bought some silicone mini-loaf trays and started making my own frozen portions. The mini-loaf trays cost a fraction of what Souper Cubes wants. Oh, the mini-loaf trays don't have a lid. So I put something on top of it when freezing. Once frozen I shrink wrap them before putting back in the freezer again.

you can get like 2lbs of frozen, pre packaged cauliflower rice from sams club for $6. no extra gadgets needed, no need to have fresh cauliflower around. just need some freezer space. its great stuff.

ngl, I thought that the burger press would be a stupid idea but then the storage thing was the real draw. portions out quarter pound portions of ground meat. really useful imo.

I want to see what happens if you put soup in the buger maker and burger in the soup cuber. 🤔 Soup Hexagons and Burger Cubes. Also how many Soup Cubes would it take to make a soup-gloo

I might have to pick up that burger press, I prefer to make and freeze 1/8 pound patties but I don't see why it wouldn't work for that as well. Sure would save me a lot of hassle compared to the way I do it now which is to meticulously weigh and shape them with a ring mold on a cookie sheet.
