Some coded pull stations are bigger than modern pull stations. My middle school which opened in 1956 had gray coded pull stations and when they upgraded the fire alarms to est genesis speaker strobes they wired the new system from scratch

My high school for the first year had a coded bell system like this which used coded pulls. However, the doors were side hinged and I’m assuming they were Simplex or Autocall. I know they had a central Simplex panel that carried out the code to all the bells. However not sure of the model. The funny thing however was they used a station with 3-1-3 for all fire drills and when there was an actual alarm, the coding was so different that many were confused... Sadly, they moved to a FireLite SpectrAlert advance system in February 2015

Sometimes, it usually went to a "central station" where they had a list of bell codes and when they received a code, they would dispatch emergency services
