The way I make the Fingerprint Shield ohko enemies is by equipping the Shard of Alexander, Godfrey Icon, the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and Millicent's Prosthesis. All four of these talismans work with Shield Crash. I have legitimately dealt over 2k damage with this setup. I'm sure monk remembers that day.

there is _one_ benefit to dual wielding shields despite the lack of powerstance l1s: it lets you use the one-handed shield moveset while still being able to block, and that means having _slightly_ better r1 framedata in exchange for _slightly_ worse frame data on the backstep and running r1s on small and medium shields ... but the real advantage is that their two-handed moveset looks kinda dumb. greatshields are appropriately just kinda worse while one-handed and don't look stupid when two-handed, so their big guard boost gets to take full advantage of the two-hand guard boost boost at no cost to style ( which, like. is basically the entire reason you'd ever put a shield in your right hand, so ) oh, yeah, that's another slight reason to dual wield shields: putting any affinity on a shield takes out a chunk of its guard boost, with the penalty actually being pretty severe on elemental affinities _on top_ of said affinities altering the damage block by boosting the appropriate elemental block ( though, interestingly, this includes a lesser boost to "adjacent" elements, like fire affinity boosting lightning and magic affinity boosting holy ) in exchange for reducing the rest. so you can try to get clever by giving your right shield an offensive affinity while picking a different one on your left to better block the damage types you expect to go up against. or realistically, you can slap a heavy or status affinity on your right shield and keep your left shield on standard and enjoy slightly high guard boost. yay.

please note the interaction of the one eyed shield with the arrows reach talisman which gives better tracking on the aow projectile!

The ants skull plate also gives you tier 2 hardness meaning that similar to when you cloak yourself in lightning attacks will just bounce off

fun thing with the ants skull plate, it has the effect of tier 3 hardness while guarding which causes weapons such as great hammers and greatswords to bounce off of it, even during the shield bash ash of war. if that happens it also secures the hit because of the stun. Hope this helps :3

Dont forget the crouch attacks of the shields. The distance you can have to hit someone is very useful :)

My Captain Kaboom character uses the One-Eyed Shield as his signature weapon. I love it so much.

If you hold block you can seemlessly go into the running attack to pressure people because the way you hold the shield is vertical like the running attack instead of horizontal. It's very powerful tech. Jumping R1s are always superior to R2 as well, you can midair block with them as opposed to jumping R2's block only when you land. The bad part about these shields is shield crash is easily backstabbed if the opponent knows how to, running attack can also be backstabbed but it is much more difficult. On running attack they would need to sprint around the attack without rolling and quick 180 and BS you with a fast animation weapon so it is risky or maybe the quickstep pivot but have never seen it happen yet. You can also cancel the special attacks of shields like the flamethrower and rocket launcher with jump if you need to reset, maybe even jump attack to surprise.

I first finished the game using the visage shield eventually combo'd with the eye shield, they cover each others gaps really well (fire giant was a bigger hurdle than malenia believe it or not)

The one thing I wish you could do is alter the visage shield and the one eyed shields that way we would have an actual flame thrower and a cannon that doesn’t look like a jar it would get rid of the protective aspects of the shield for less weight load but we’d have some cool looking ash of war guns other than the Jar cannon

Holy ground is good. Maybe not if you’re using only shields but in pvp it’s great. It gives you more damage negation for all damage types while in the circle on top of the healing.

Er... actually, the Ant's Skull Plate also counts as a tier class Harder then all the other Greatshields, being tier 3. What that means is that One handed Great Sword & Great Hammers will bounce off.

Actually we do have a golden colored shield buff called "Immutable Shield" which blocks all elemental damage and status effects.

13:20 What youre experiencing is called 'block frames'. This exists on all shields during their attacks, and uniquely occurs on the heavy attacks of the carian knight sword. The damage and stamina damage reduction is entirely dependent on the shield in question, and greatshields happen to be best at this type of trading. This is why back in the olden days some players used shields as a way to trade with a bigger weapon when the situation calls for it, since some attacks on shields have a lot of block frames. The reason why it seems to occur randomly is largely due to high latency, but it is actually very predictable, very much like parrying (in fact, they work identically on a fundamental level).
