You definitely made the right decision on mowers. I work for a municipality in my city and I have a whole fleet of Toro diesels. I would recommend a Toro Z Master 7500D for your property. The torque of the diesel is unreal over gasoline. Great video guys!

If you take the chute off the side it will discharge 10x better in the wet. Also they make a mount for a trimmer you can put on the mower to drive where you need to weed eat. Check it out!

I work at a toro dealership and the 4000 and 4000 hdx series are one of the best mower in the line excellent quality and the Kawasaki engiens are very heavy duty never go with anything else

I spent the money in 2015 and bought a commercial grade Gravely and have had to replace one spindle. This place we bought in Missouri these people when they were done with objects they let them lay. Two weeks ago mowing a small pasture hit barb wire and it stopped the blades right now. With my heavy duty lawnmower Jack and a few minutes of removing the blades I was back in business. Love the zero turns,I had 2 of them and one lawn tractor and would always go with a zero!

Don't get too hung up on the spindles being aluminum housings. Keep in mind the commercial and professional spindles are able to be rebuilt rather than replaced. I worked at a place that beat the daylights out of a zmaster and did 0 maintenance for years and it survived. Keep a spare set of blades on hand and keep up on the maintenance, including the wheel drives, and you'll get many, many, years of service from it.

Awesome job Rebekah. For the life of me, I don't know why Zero-turn mowers don't have Diff Lockers. They get stuck way to easily. You're both living the life, most of us wish we could.

Nice purchase there guys. That beast of a mower should last well beyond 10 years. Especially the way you've been trying to take care of your equipment. One bad thing about a zero turn is that usually once you start spinning in the mud you're going to be stuck before you know it.

Awesome video. I have a Z Master for 16 years and still mow great. Other than normal maintenance I have replace the center spindle. Toro has the best zero turn on the market, best warranty in the market. I retired working for John Deere and I still bought a Toro. There was no comparison.

I’ve been running a 27 acre field twice a month with mine for almost 3 years and have never had an issue with the aluminum spindles. I’ve never had any issues at all for that matter. I’ve got the MyRide version, which is the only reason I initially went with Toro, now I’m never going back!

I have a Ferris zero turn, they are absolutely terrible when it’s wet. I’ve had to pull mine out numerous times with my tractor. In fact I chuckled a few times watching you try to push it out and then ending up towing it.

You'll love that new mower, definitely have a help system handy to get it unstuck around the pond and ditches. That's the only draw back to it. Stay safe and enjoy it maybe rig up some mud guards to shield the driver. Fred

I've only got a half acre and a Gravely 42" EXT but watching Rebekah has convinced me to get up now, and go mow, just for the pure fun of being a 76 year old, outside, playing on my zero turn every chance I get. An f-16 might be more fun but I don't have one.

Me and my wife sure got a big laugh about the getting stuck in the pond. I used to have to drag her out of the pond about 50% of the time she mowed. Gotta get that last blade of grass, bless their hearts.

Mower is a beast. I think the biggest maintenance item will be keeping the blades sharp. Get a couple extra sets of blades and keep them sharp.

For future reference, good she had the wheels turning when you pulled the mower out of the mud, but if you pull out the machine as a one person operation, make sure you release the hydro pumps first. And don't forget the 10 hour oil change.

Working at a toro dealer, you can adjust the deck lift back if it makes it easier. The golf bolt can be moved to either of the two settings. Make sure you do a 10hr engine oil change and the transmission filters and fluid at 75hrs and you won’t have any issues. The 74054 toro’s are an awesome machine!

I've had a Gravely zero turn for 20 yrs. I get it stuck at least once a year lol. It has to be pulled out. It is starting to have some problems but it has been a great mower. ENJOY your new mower.

First thing I noticed, was how extremely close it could cut to your raised beds, that was actually really impressive! I bought a husqvarna 4wd front deck mower this spring, and it does not cut that close even that its a commercial mower, so that is a really nice thing! Second thing, was how it blasted through that very high grass, so I think you bought yourself a winner here!

I run an X MARK 60" mower and all summer long I sit on the seat 8 to 10 hours a day 5 days a week at the camp ground I work for and it's the most comfortable mower I have ever used

Word of advice, take a leaf blower and keep the deck of the mower blown off, this will save wear on the spindle bearing and help keep the belts running cooler.. A leaf blower will help you out a bunch in keeping the mower in top shape...

Really good choice of mower, we purchased the Toro Titan 60” last year and it is a beast. We live on steep ground and I wrecked it 7 times before I bought some Wanda ATV sand tires, it tears up the grass every now and again but I only mow about a half acre we care about, the rest is pasture. The forged deck and welded front end are seriously heavy duty. Likewise, that seat is the bomb, they call it “my ride” on the residential mowers, and I’ll mow for six hours on it with no real fatigue. Great episode, look forward to more. Cheers, Dan and Elle

Looks like a great upgrade. I did that at my place a decade ago and it was really worth getting back those hours every week. Next step is figure out the areas of the yard that are slowing the cut down and redesign features in those areas; like instead of flower beds etc with sharp corners use gentle arcs and let the wetland grow, or fence in additional areas so the animals take care of the more challenging mowing areas saving on the feed bill too.

We got a zero tern like yours last year and love it .it doesn't have a suspension system on it and man is it rough. Great video I think you guys will love the new mower

You can get really nice pull behind carts and other accessories that you pull behind for Toro's like that.

A set of hi lift blades will transform that thing into a grass cutting beast. Loose the rubber chute so it will throw the grass out farther instead of leaving windrows and loose the pulley covers over the spindles to reduce belt heat and wear.

I bought a zero turn last year. Cut my mowing time in half. Love my mower. Went with a Country Clipper, joy stick steering and can flip up the deck to clean the deck and sharpen the blades. You will love mowing lawn again.

Toro has always been a top shelf product. It seems Rebecca is a top shelf operator as well. For getting used to a new machine she really handles it well. Zero turn isn't a good fit with our property due to all the slopes we have. I know a lot of folks share by them though. Seeing it is a Toro I 'd like to share an anecdote if I may. Back around 1979 a friend d I worked with in Texas was looking at a new lawnmower for his 2-1/2"acre property. Every day at lunch for at leastvtwo months he looked at different dealers and models. He finally decided on a Toro. It turned out that the service manager for the Toro dealer lived very close to my friend so the manager said he would deliver the new mower free of charge since he would be coming home anyway. The big day arrived and this service manager was obviously very proud of his product. He unloads the machine, hops on the seat and says to my friend something to the affect, "Now THIS is a mowing machine!" and proceeds to charge across my friend's lawn. The engine roared, he moved at impressive speed, but no grass was cut. Not one blade of grass. The service manager, very red-faced stopped the machine, did a few checks and loaded the machine back onto his rig. He turned to my friend and through gritted teeth told him he would bring the mower back tomorrow and "By God IT WILL CUT GRASS!" His technicians had failed to install the idler pullies on the deck. My friend and I wished we could have been flies on the wall when that manager took that machine back to his shop. We suspect somebody, as or multiple somebodies, got an earful that morning. True to his word the machine returned the next evening and cut flawlessly. I don't know how many years of use my friend got out of it since I took another job and lost touch with him, but every time I see a Toro mower I think of him and this event. Lol

it's been a very wet spring. I got stuck in the mud & my neighbor got stuck the same day also. We had to pull mine out with a truck

The big tires on the mower is a great idea! Being it's commercial grade, that thing may very well last you a lifetime, considering its built to run almost 8 hours a day during mowing season and you only would mow not much more than 5 hours a week. Also, if you don't have your steers on any strict diet and they haven't been sent to the butcher, they will just love eating those corn stalks after you harvest your corn. Thanks for the demo on the mower. I have 1.25 acres I mow with a 42 inch rider and it takes me about 3 hours. A zero turn like that could do my yard in about 40 minutes.

Put out some temporary electrical fence and send in the goats. They can enjoy eating the grass and Rebecca can shave off still more mowing time. Just saying.

I SO identify with Rebekah's struggles. I mow with a commercial JD Z930M, and it's SO EASY to get that thing stuck next to the pond. Sometimes it just doesn't look as wet and soggy as it is, and that rear-wheel drive can really bury itself fast. The only thing I do NOT like about the JD is that it doesn't have the air ride seat. It'll definitely beat you to death if you're trying to hurry. Congratulations on your new purchase, guys. I hope you'll enjoy it for years to come!

If you mow away from the fence row you don't get all the grass clippings building up in your fence row and it just looks nicer.

My 2006 Scag Tiger Cat with the Briggs & Stratton engine was a disaster. Undersized starter would not start below 50F and then one year after purchase, factory scratch on engine split line caused the gasket to get sucked into the engine. Dealer and Scag were of no help. I ate the cost and had the local garage mechanic fix it. Gave the mower and leaf catcher to my neighbor for $1000 and he is still driving it with the starter problem. Loved the mower quality, so I bought another Scag with a different engine from a different dealer. I have a 2014 Scag 52" Tiger Cat zero turn mower with 26" tires and 27 Hp Kawasaki engine, steel spindle. Love it. Welded steel plate deck - not bent sheet metal. Tall grass - no problem and should last rest of my life. Caution: the zero turn mowers do not traverse across steep hills very well. You have to go up and down but not across (they slide).

Nice! Think about blasting the underside with fluid film, keeps the underside of the deck nice year after year.

I got this mower specifically to be able to drive it through a 36 inch door kzfaq.infoUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend or gate It is a little tight with the grass deflector installed but has more clearance with the deflector replaced by the recycler/mulcher. This model appears to be popular and a little harder to find for that reason. I can't judge the dependability as I have only mowed the yard twice but everything else on the mower is very nice and working fine so far. I added options for the run hour timer, arm backrests, recycler/mulcher, towing bracket, deck lift assist and cover.

Get yourself a set of atomic blades throws out less clumps and gives a great finish. Dont worry about the spindles we run a few of these and in 15 years i have changed 2 spindles but that was caused through operator error,have fun

Hey my grandparents brand has that and I was little I always ride with my grandparents mowing their yard and now they're getting older I run that lawnmower by myself mow the whole yard by self that is a good lawn mower

When your wife got stuck that's why I bought a john deere x700 series with 4x4 and locking Differential with 4 wheel steering worth every penny. It really gets you out of spots like that.

I mounted a harbor freight winch on the front of my new zero turn to pull myself out, very easy to put on just drill two holes in that front plate. I've been called by neighbors to pull them out

I have 2 Toro Z-Master 3000, the precessor to the 4000 series. I've been very happy with both my Toro's. One has 645 hrs and the other has 300, both running Kawi engines and no issues.

I ended up going with the Dixie chopper Blackhawk, with what I was looking for in a mower the price was about $1800.00 cheaper than the other mowers. I was wanting the ability to close off the grass shut when I was near houses and cars and that feature was standard on the Dixie chopper.

That mower is a beast but she needs to be very careful around the pond. I know several people who've had their mower slide right into the water. One nearly drown. Just be aware that the ZTR can slip sideways quick!

I am glad Rebekkah has her new lawnmower. I had suggested that zero turn last year. I have 2 of them to keep my place fully cut. Only time I see nephews wanting to come cut grass. They want keep their parents home grass cut. Must be that push mower that stops them.

We made the same major upgrade on mowers but probably 10 years ago. We ended up going with Dixie Chopper. Definitely a strong machine like yours. hard to compare apples to apples with what I have since I got mine so long ago. Great features on the toro with the phone slot. That is one thing I struggle with is where to securely store the phone. looks like a comfy ride and the commercial grade mowers are beasts for cutting both for speed and what they will cut. I was amazed. only bad thing is zero turns aren't really a fan of hilly ground.
