One more upgrade should be a flashing light on the dash at start up that says Mike lift the ripper before moving!!!!😂😂

Two things. 1. The dozer is the little brother to the 1650, a lot easier to haul, (possibly on the pintle trailer) and even more a finishing dozer than the 1650. 2. It looks like Aaron has been taking lessons from Jerry and practicing a lot. Enjoy the content.

Mike I cannot believe you missed it again. Every time you have the case guys available you never ask the most important question. With all of the bells and alarms on these machines when are they going to fit an alarm to remind the operator to lift the ripper when starting off???

I like the idea of configuring the wiring with multiple "sub harnesses" or jumpers. As Mike pointed out, too often the only recourse an OEM offers is to buy a complete master (or main) harness when the actual damage or fault might be confined to a small branch harness. But the concept needs to be expanded to include making individual connectors or pigtails available to the consumer also. I couldn't begin to count the times we encountered a broken lock tab on a plastic connector where it attaches to a sensor or electrical component, or rabid corrosion at a connector...................and then when you try to buy repair parts the OEM tells you you have to buy a master harness for a few thousand dollars when all you would really need is a repair pigtail with wire leads and a new connector, or sometimes just a new connector where you could swap your old wires into.

I forsee the D4 retiring like the 850B...then getting used just as much as it is now...just with 2 smaller dozers on site. That is a nice machine. Personally I like trading DEF for DPF. Especially in this application. Also, GET THE GRADE CONTROL! As much as you use the D4 for final grade on dams and such, I think using it on this machine may be a no brainer!
@Sjanzo
@Sjanzo 8 ай бұрын
Thats typical for the American market. Deere introduced DEF only engines for the European rental market, just too many costly DPF replacement when rental customers shut off the engine during regen.

Well done Aaron, like a Boss, drive it like you stole it, I think this little rooster is going to do grate on grading and ponds, and it looks like it could fit on the trailer that Aaron toes around with the roller, Mike I honestly think that when Aaron just gets good at it Gerry will try it and kick him off, I also think Mike you are not going to get as much time on it as you would want, between Aaron and Gerry and it doesn't seem to have that terrible squeal one of them had, god but that was annoying, Thanks also to the Case company for giving Mike the chance to try them out, really should take the other one to Captain Kleeman, he is building a road on his property that will put any dozer with rippers to the test and it is Kleeman ask Mike what he is like, use what you brought.

I have just spent the last two weeks on a 2050 (4000 hrs) and generally I was quite impressed with it. Considering that i have spent the last 20 years on D10's is quite a plus. It push's well although like all smaller dozers they tend to grab a bit on transition changes in clays. And yes I am well aware you can alter the blade pitch to mitigate this but there is no blade pitch setting that suits all conditions. That being said it was quite capable of boiling material 500mm (300mm =1ft) or more continuosly particularly if you can get it nosing downhill. Climbs well although like any dozer not happy pushing uphill. One gripe is they only have two wiper switchs. The front screen and one that controls both door wipers this is an issue if the rain is coming in on the quarter or one side. The offside wiper is running on a dry door glass which is going to grnd the hell out of it over even just a short period. Also don't use a shovel to dig out the under carriage. Use a fork, much much superior, especially if there are sticks or stones in there.

Nice dozer. I love the spade bracket. Cleaning out my grandpa's tracks was often my job. He had always had a spade stashed in the engine compartment. Something you could never do today. 😀 You barely have room for to make repairs today. He loved his Allis Chalmer 16 and 11. Later he added a Fiat 11B.

One of the last dozers I had the pleasure of was a 450 case and as for model, I only remember it was a similar drive train as in shifting and such... poorly worded for sure.. I am going on the fact that it used a 5.9 cummins engine and when my brother blew it up in icy cold weather, with all the parts we could muster, used a engine from a newer than this dozer, a 95 model engine from a pickup. You must switch a good many parts as the auto engine is too much power for their components and so the figured all of that in.. a lot of work but done in a day to do the injectors and manifolds, of course the fuel pump which is now were near like the auto engine used. Mike, I can see this being a great addition to the fleet.
