Welcome back y'all, it's another video!!! ❤️ It's on Monday today because I kinda over-estimated myself. I thought I could add a rebellion mechanic to the simulation in the little spare time I had last week... I could not. 😅 Mostly because I kept getting simulation-crashing bugs... 😓 I managed to get a simulation running to the end today though, yay! 🎉
The rebellion mechanic is very bare bones at this time. You see it happening when parts of polities suddenly become dark. The dark areas are rebelling against the loyalist light areas. I'm definitely not finished with it, but this is how far I could get in time for a weekly video.

also i feel like the culture diffusion might be too intense, it seems like the southeastern continent was all really similar even though it was divided from north to south usually

@@badusername9903 It's been a difficult thing to balance. I'd note that continent did have some big empires that brought north and south together, and a lot of overlap. It can be difficult for cultures to diverge in areas like that 😆

In some ways, yes, certainly. There's a number of (current and former) projects like this out there. Songs of the Eons is one, another is Worlds: History Simulator. I honestly don't compare myself to them because those are made by actual professionals, I'm just a hobbyist who codes for fun. 😂 Also, my approach and focus is different, for better and worse depending on what you're hoping for. ❤

Достаточно хорошая симуляция, да и твой проект в целом. Так кодить - надо уметь. А за повстанцев тоже могу сказать - ты могёшь просто! Болел за все архиепархии! Привет из России!

Copying from my answer to the other comment also asking this: The hard requirement is that a polity needs to have at least one subject (vassal or province). The softer requirement is that it's a random chance when a polity gets a new ruler, with the chance based on how over-extended the polity is. My intention is to have rebellions replace much of the 'collapse' mechanic I was using up till now. Collapse just made a subjects and tiles independent, and functioned as a way to punish polities for over-extending (meaning conquering more than they have the economy to hold). Rebellions are meant to still punish overextension, but in a way that's less sudden and makes it easier for polities to hold on to their conquests for longer. Definitely not where I want it yet, but it's a start! ❤
