The Turbo Set 200 is a portable brazing kit that uses disposable supply cylinders. They are suitable for various professional welding and brazing applications such as, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning. The sets are safe and easy to transport, compact and lightweight (27 cm high and about 6 kg weight). This video goes through the setup, operating and shut down procedures of the Turbo Set 200. It also points out some important features of the unit.

i just purchased this set im a fridgy i work in alot of different places and i get sick of breaking out the big oxy acetylene rig for a few welds and welds in awkward places which alot of those are! it took me an hour playing around with the set but i have successfully brazed 7/8 pipe no worries and i have done probably 20-25 welds on pipes from 3/8 to 7/8 and going of the regulator it is now at 50 bar(full is 110) so just over half its great! i use the 2 middle size nozzles most and tried the biggest one its overkill for most things i intend to use this kit for and i work on commercial equipment. Bottom line is at the start i was skeptical of its performance but once playing with it i have learned i like a higher fuel reg setting than whats in the book and i like the flame to be noisey(plenty of heat) i would recommend this set fo anybody in my trade as a 2nd set, this set does not replace a proper oxy acetylene rig but its a shitload better than mapp gas alone! and its a welcome addition to my box!

Samuel Rule awesome mate. I'm a fridgy also. I was thinking of getting something in between my map torch and my regular oxy kit. And I'm sold on this after hearing what you had to say. Thanks bud

As a retired. Frigman its the one great piece of kit that I still own,climbing ladders onto roofs its lightweight and ease of carrying plus brazing capability is fantastic,still use it now in my man cave for building those useless projects that I now have time to bodge and bend,because I can.

In the USA we do not have that stuff hear, that sucks I would love a little kit so i do not have to lug a heavy rig around

I finally managed to get my hands on one. Very well made kit, robust, with loads of accessories. I will be doint refrigerationbrazing. Should last an entire career of cared for properly. Only downside for me will be the cost of the oxygen bottle/cylinder. Here in the UK its around £25+ on its own.

I`ve got one of these for work and it`s pretty good - Only bad thing is the Oxygen bottles don`t last very long and are expensive to replace - Is it possible get or rig up a bigger refillable Oxy bottle to one?

Mark Opie Mark, these sets are not designed to be used with any other oxygen bottles other than the genuine disposable cylinders. To extend the life of the oxygen cylinder, try using the smallest sized tip needed for each job or application. Also make sure that the fuel gas pressure is set correctly, as this could cause increased consumption of oxygen.

Its probably worth noting for anyone not in tune with hot works that you can only 'weld' steel in the true sense of the word with Oxy Ace, you can braze with propane/mapp gas and oxy but any weld would be brittle due to hydrogen embrittlement even if it looks ok. I wish you could buy a set with larger cylinders (5 litres water capacity) that could be refilled from a large Propane/Oxy bottle but I'm pretty sure you cant refill an oxy cylinder at home due to the risk of the combustion risk if contamination is present in the lines. the long and short of everyone I know who has one of these jits is that the bottle are hideously expensive, last a very short amount of time and the kit usually ends up sat in a corner unused. You would be better of with a rent-free 4kg propane and a 10kg oxy on a little trolley. cheaper in the long run and not untransportable.

+andiellio The kit is designed for welding and brazing applications. The disposable cylinders have limited capacity to ensure that the kit remains portable with regards to size and weight. Cutting with the unit (although possible) in unviable due to the larger consumption of gas for the cutting process.

Somehow these type of tools should be forbitened worldwide by safety standards lack!my minimal experience says that even in the price of 300€ that costs here in Greece safety is not included in that money.there are a number of reasons why it is so expensive to buy and work with oxy-acetiline.
