USPS Proper Footwear

Wearing the proper shoes is required by all postal personnel, whether they walk miles on a route or handle mail on the workroom floor. These shoes passed the specification of the United States Postal Service Proper Footwear. I bought these pair of slip-resistant leather Sketchers based on the memorandum they gave us during the final processing. Career employees do have a uniform program and required shoes SR/USA.

I bought a pair Sketchers work shoes for my husband but I got him steel toed ones with slip resistant and memory foam too - he loves them

For those with larger feet: I had to buy my size 16 4E shoes from manufacturers. My current daily pair are Dunham’s Service shoes. They have great slip resistance and plenty of room for orho insoles. Costs me 130 and are not an allowance item cause they don’t have the green tag :/

With as much time as you will spend on your feet, don’t forget to replace your shoes at least once per year as they wear out.

If you're walking a route and wearing the same shoes every day you'll be lucky if one pair lasts two months. I rotate through five pairs of shoes and every year I throw out all five pairs. The insoles become inflexible and contribute to knee and hip pain. Clerks have to stand on concrete all the time so they have the same problems.

I started my work right after orientation. During orientation they will give you dates you can start work. You can pick which ones you like.

Sketchers brand is available in any shoes stores. Any brand will do as long as it’s leather.

u didnt wear steel toe shoes as mha? was it danger hazard n how many others didn't wear steel toe botts n just wore shos. thinking if I should by steel toe boots or just stick with shoes

Regular sneakers are fine, the fingerprint appointment is casual.

Technically, we HAVE to wear shoes that have the SR-USA label on them. But they take such a huge chunk out of your allotment. I'd rather order five shirts than order one pair of boots. I like the Skechers shoes too but if you get injured on the job, you can get written up for wearing those because they don't have a SR-USA label.

Haha! My first pair of sketchers felt soooo good. I had a pair just like yours. But they did not hold up well at all. I started buying the generic less expensive version and loved them. Trick of the trade: if you find THAT pair of shoes that feels PERFECT......buy 2 pairs. Switch up every day so that one pair can completely dry out while you are wearing the alternate pair. You will go through shoes like crazy unless you are one who rides a 🚲lol. I buy 4 pairs at a time to save on shipping. And also to stock up before my fav style gets discontinued. If you like it buy it in bulk.

They are heavy, but they protected my feet from getting hurt getting run over by a pallet jack.
