I've also been watching him since I was in my 20's, and I think you suck. When I first started watching his videos I remember subscribing to him just because I agreed with those first few videos I watched of him, and then that is when I see that he really isn't as good as I thought he was. He mainly joins in the bandwagon when it comes to movies that are popular to hate on movies that aren't that bad, and if that movie wasn't part of a franchise he wouldn't acted the way he is. What I'm trying to say is he is a fake, and based on his review of The Birth of a Nation I won't say he is racist but his that type of white guy who is unaware of his white privilege. I now only watched his videos as more of a "if he hates it that means it's probably good." Also the BEST person on youtube isn't Jeremy Jahns, it's Brandon Rodgers. Brandon Rodgers is the creator of 4 really funny comedy online webseries that you can watch for free on youtube, and has made a lot of really funny comedy skits. Brandon Rodgers has more originality and creativity then Jeremy will ever be able to do in his life. Jeremy kind of sucks and I always believe his fanbase is made up mostly of 12 year old white boys but I also can see some weakminded adults also be a fan of his too. Oh yea Jeremy always acts like a hardcore MCU fanboy until Black Panther trailer comes out and he openly admits he never heard of that superhero, more proof that he is a fucken poser while encouraging my belief how he is possibly maybe a closeted racist.

Also ironic how it’s apparently has “woke” ideologies like cancel culture even with whatsherface bodyshaming the one trucker guy 5 minutes in. @@larryb4598 I think you need to rewatch the original movie, Leatherface were not Michael Myers. The original were a comment on how meat culture and slaughterhouses were seen by people. Remember in the beginning and the slaughter houses, they talk about how cows and pigs are butchered, and really dont care about it. Well all these methods are the way people are killed by Leatherface, since to his family, they are just cows and pigs. Leatherface actually has a fairly small role in the original. And no Halloween (or the babysitter Murders as it were originally called) were not copied from Texas Chainsaw, Halloween were inspired by spooky stories in the same vein as Amityville and such. Plus some inspiration from Black Christmas (from 1974).

It's the fact that the director of this movie has plans for sequels 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😭💔Also the movie took me really out when it tried to pay tribute in the final scene to 1974 but it just looked like a parody. They forget the original was great because of atmosphere and tension, you'd feel so filthy watching it. The 2003 version I hope gets more appreciation cause it actually did try to do something different and had tension and atmosphere but gets hate which I don't get.

But script aside, and the consistency (be it bright light through the window sill at night and day, or quiet chainsaw), the movie was very pleasant to look at from the visual standpoint.

Okay, after looking as some footage from the movie, I have a question and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way. Do a lot of these Netflix/streaming films have this sort of "uniform" look them regarding the cinematography and color-usage? Sort of like how a lot of the MCU films can sort of blend together with theirs? I feel like there's this new sort of film category right below "Theater-Released film" and "Straight TO DVD film." Like, not as good as a film made specifically for the big screen, but not nearly as bad as something put directly on DVD. Does anyone else know what I'm sayin', or am I just way off base here? Had this thought for a while now.

I finished watching this movie and come right here to listen to your review. I haven't even looked at the trailer or the ratings of this movie because I see a new slasher movie I watch it without hestitation. The ratings never change my mind and I certainly don't listen when someone tells me what movie should I not watch. This is probably why I am never a harsh critic when it comes to movies and I don't overthink them. I enjoyed watching this movie. Leatherface was never my favorite slasher but I found a new respect for the killer in the movie. Bloody/Gory scenes was something that I was missing in new horror movies so probably that's why this movie felt refreshing to me. I really liked the Leatherface perfomance in this movie. Another reason why I watch movies first and than watch the reviews. And I certainly don't get it why is fun to people to pick apart movies they hate or it's bad movie. I had few movies I didn't like and I didn't laugh at them or pick them apart. I don't understand people anymore.

Major studios knows what fandoms want. They just don't care, that's not who they're trying to appeal to. Which is why these old franchises can't re-establish themselves. Because they don't appeal to either side. That's mainly because younger audiences moved on to newer franchises, while the core fandoms won't support because they've changed too much things in order to appeal to the previous group. A lot of these franchises are also very much "of their time" and probably can't be forced back into the current era, and probably should be allowed to just rest with dignity. I feel like Ghostbusters might've figured it out, I'm assuming I haven't seen it. But Ghostbusters fans seem to like it, so 🤷🏾‍♂️

Exactly, and it just makes the viewers of the original movies wonder what kind of flashy trash is this newer gen into. I really hope that one day "They Who Suck on The Bones of Cult Films" would just stop, and realize that with these types of movies, there's nothing else to be done because they cant capture anything close to the feeling that the original had, and that most of these movies cant evolve into the new age without either losing what made it so great in the first place or without having someone with the clarity, vision, and a true understanding of what they're dealing with and most importantly, the TALENT to pull the film into the new age.

Except they don't "take the piss" in any meaningful way. It was just: "hey: zoomers, amirite? laugh." Like, you would've had to not watch any media within the past five, hell, ten years to find any of these jokes funny anymore. The set up of urban/gentrification vs rural towns was actually incredibly interesting waste of potential. Also, to the point of it being "riffing on Halloween, not copying it," it's like...what's the point? If I wanted to watch a horror movie be poorly satirical about other horror movies, I would've just watched Scream. This movie feels so specifically for people who haven't watched horror movies since they were teenagers. It's so bland and lifeless.

Haven't seen it, and never had any intention to watch it, but... This review was fucking entertaining. So, that's one thing the movie has achieved. Keep it up, Jeremy, I love this channel!

100% Dog shit! Absolutely agree! I kept thinking that having the survivor return would be an important part of the movie but she made absolutely no difference! Unacceptable!
