*Couldn't leave a comment like this on 99 likes.* 🫡🇺🇲 I wish civilians could realize the type of hell and emotions service members had to endure over there regardless how they _"felt"_ about the war or anything... I'm a civilian, myself, so I can't fully imagine or grasp it all; But from stories, videos, podcasts, etc.: It helps to paint a real clear picture (if ppl care enough to try and learn and care *as we all should*).

Thanks for the vid. Just some suggestions about the halon fire suppression system. That system should be deactivated and bottles removed if you allow people in the vehicle who are not trained on how to get out in an emergency. Remember, Halon is heavier than air and displaces oxygen. There are also manual activation handles that kids love to play with. There have been multiple deaths in the Army and probably other services attributed to these systems, and that's with trained crewmembers. Also, at 5:45 that cap is not for the nozzle, it is to protect the valve when the bottle is removed, and at 5:55 that is not an IR light for illumination, it is a multi sensor for the halon system. I was a 19D Cavalry Scout and spent years crewing the M3 CFV (Bradley) that had these systems. They can kill you if you panic and cannot get out in time before you pass out due to lack of oxygen. As a note, there was talk way back of doing away with halon and going to C02 but the lack of oxygen is still an issue with C02 as well.

GSS is for Global Seating Systems. They were the manufacturer of the seats that the Blackwater Grizzly APC MRAPII prototypes used. The seats are heavy because they are built to be blast resistant. Blackwater's Grizzly lost out on it's bid to be selected for the defense dept. contract due to it's failure in testing on front end explosion protection at Aberdeen Test Grounds. Blackwater's manufacturing facilities in Camden North Carolina closed down shortly after building these prototypes.

You need to add it to underground bunker, have a hidden steel door that lays flat on the ground that can be opened and drive up out out of ground after an apocalyptic type event. Have a steel door going into a small tunnel to a double steel door from parking area into bunker. That way nobody could penertrate your bunker.. ;)

The spray it the undersides of trucks and whatever for bomb proofing. They also use it to line fish holds in Fishing boats. It's awesome stuff. But you need a $35,000 machine to spray it. I've sprayed it before.

Congratz on the MRAP Ron! That is a dream truck / camper. My Number is 64 and 82 on delivery on this video, 160 before test drive. Love your bunkers, I would rather live in one of your bunkers than my current house, so if you want to store one in my yard...

I was in Iraq for the first rotation when the insurgency kicked off. It was that deployment that taught me Hummv's were coffins on wheels. I was a Bradley mechanic in the Army for 15 yrs total. The IEDs were ripping through our trucks and tanks/brads due to the flat hulls. The second time I was in Iraq I was supporting the 101st ABN at FOB Normandy when they got Bradleys because they were getting hammered with IEDs and their Col requested armor. They got 13 Pre-po Bradley's from Kuwait. I was sent over to support them as obviously the 101st ABN wouldn't have Bradley mechanics. For the next 8 months I was repairing Brads and doing Recovery work. Of the 13 Brads they got 11 were coded out for IED damage. I recovered every one of them but 1. Only 1 soldier lost their life during that time. If that Col hadn't requested Armor. That number would have been allot higher. Even though the Brads were destroyed by the IEDs. They saved lives. My 3rd tour was when the MRAPs were really being fielded. My unit was one of the first in Iraq to get the Maxxpro's. Big and tall trucks. But they did their job. I don't think we lost anyone during that deployment. I could be wrong. But as far as my unit goes we didn't lose anyone to IEDs. I am grateful the Army is sidelining the Hummv's but it took far too long to make that happen. The MRAPS aren't perfect. But compared to what we had during the first two tours. The MRAPs are like tanks on wheels but better in terms of surviving an IED at least. I wouldn't put them up against an actual tank or anything designed to take out hard targets. And trust me you are all lucky you never saw the boneyards in Kuwait that held all the destroyed vehicles from Iraq and convoys from Kuwait to Iraq. The Hummv yard was one of two times I honestly cried. The first was when a civilian contractor I made friends with was killed by a rocket attack. The Hummv yard was by far the biggest and most pathetic to see. MRAPs saved allot of lives. I honestly hope it stays that way going forward.
