I feel like we are still at least another year away (most likely 2) from our recruiting wins the last couple years coming to fruition on the football field. Gotta wait for that 2023 class to at least be redshirt sophomores (true Juniors). Until then we are piece mealing this thing with the portal (and doing that well too).

Coy Eakin will be our top WR in 2024, he is the guy Morton trusts. Go look at the bowl game highlights, Morton has no problem forcing a ball in there & Eakin is making contested catches. Watching college track meets, the 400m hurdles guys are tough!

Ideal Carries: (Per Game) Brooks: 20-25 Valdez: 10-15 Dickey: 5-10 McCray/Hudson: 0-5 Brown: 0-5 Morton: ZERO!!! (Keep him healthy) TOTAL: 35-60 Ideal Passing Attempts: (Per Game) Morton: 30-40 Brown: 0-10 TOTAL: 30-50

Brooks is clear RB1 and needs most of the carries. But I'd like to see Valdez and Dickey split the RB2 carries. Then add in some WR sweeps with McCray and Micah because of their speed. Also could add in some QB runs/options with Cam Brown. Let Morton work and do his thing with 30-40 passes per game. And Cam Brown could even throw some passes on RPO plays and "trick" plays. This will spread out the carries/attempts and not overwork any one player. It will also make the defense prepare for multiple different attack styles. Anyways, that's just my thoughts and how I'd draw it up... but there is a reason I'm typing this on KZfaq and not writing game plans lol! (Also replying to my own message to add an extra comment 😉)

Nice thoughts stats and ideas. Ideal carries and pass attempts are dependent on the situation. If xyz team cant stop the run then 100-0. If xyz team cant stop the pass then 0-100. The feel of the flow of the game is one of the many important attributes an OC requires

"Morton: ZERO!!! (Keep him healthy)". Morton contributing with his wheels opens up the playbook dramatically. Play with no fear but also play smart. Michael Vick comes to mind when playing with no fear. He was not afraid to become a crash test dummy ( no disrespect intended ). 4.2 crash speed. The crash test dummy is not the route I would personally take. Be happy with yards gained with the wheels. Go down on first indication of impact or run out of bounds with yards secured in the bag. Huddle up and get ready for the next play. If the game is on the line, lets say against Arizona, time to grit the teeth and deliver to secure the win. A good QB is like an untouchable ballerina

@@WhoKnowsWhatTheirDoing Respectfully, absolutely not. The entire reason they brought Cam Brown in as a transfer is because they don't want QB1 taking hits and getting injured. Brown has good speed and can run RPO and option plays. If you are going to run the QB, use Brown as a "Donovan Smith" type QB. Keep Morton healthy by letting him using his arm. If Morton goes down this team is a borderline bowl team. If Morton plays every game, this team could reach Arlington if the cards fall right. Just my thoughts tho...

Morton will have a carry or two. Just don't want him taking any hits. Slide or throw the ball away once you leave the pocket
