We're looking at going with roofing panels, for siding, on an upcoming project. While checking out this crinkle paint, we're already starting to hear negative things about it. One local metal supplier has already discontinued it at all their locations. Biggest complaint on it is, build up over time. As it holds the dust, pollen & sap more than regular smooth paint jobs. As the textured paint doesn't allow for the debris to wash off with light rains, like the smooth paint does. A representative for the company stated that owners of the installed crinkle metal reported double the maintenance as the regular metal roof. He stated the "few" customers that had used it as siding for houses/buildings, had reported having to wash it up to 4 times a year. Some even putting regular painted metal, as wainscot on the bottom portion, to help combat the debris on the bottom portion. We like the ideal of the extra, unnoticeable scratch ability of the metal. But are now questioning whether we should go with the crinkle or the regular smooth paint. As with, at least twice the maintenance, comes extra cost. Even more so for the Non-DIY'er. What are your customers reviews & your thoughts on this?

Will this paint slow falling snow down? Like could it be an effective snow brake?

Does textured standing seam need snow guards, or do they grip the snow?
