This really summarizes how I feel about the cosmetics that have been released the last few years. Just stupid garbage that’s a copy of a hat we already have in the game. Or boring bland hats no one will wear. I really wish valve would stop releasing Halloween and Christmas crates. And just release a yearly crate of solid well made hats. Great video!

The editing of this video is great. And you’re absolutely right. QUALITY CONTROL!!! Zesty has been preaching this for a long time and he gets a tremendous amount of hate for it. Buts he’s right. Getting the same kind of cosmetic, just a little bit different, is not how this game should handle cosmetics. There’s no heart and soul in most of these cosmetics. Fucking waste of space for real talent.

A game I once greatly admired the design philosophy of, has turned into a clusterfuck of visuals with no coherent theme or standards. Half of the stuff added is ugly, lazy or downright stupid. The amount of genuine creativity that gets pushed aside for some random bullshit is just infuriating. Honestly.

I think this year's scream fortress hats are a huge step up in quality, with actual hats you can wear year round and not just random funny items on the merc's head- for example the more gun marshall and the propaniac

6:32 The "Forever!" effect illustrates this as clear as day. Before it got added it had literal little to no views or favorites on it, three different variants for no reason, and the gimmick of this new gen of energy effect was: it has a spooky face on it. It lacks creativity yet got added no problemo.

I am doing my part! actually voting on the workshop and comment on items i think are good, yes it does work. it mean items that not bad can surface on top of the workshop. so maybe the valve janitor may pick one. just have standards when doing it and up vote items that are tf2 theme.

Winter 2022 and Summer 2023 (especially this because Summer 2023 probably had the best war paint case in years, Steel Brushed and Pacific Peacemaker my beloved) were steps in the right direction, so I had no idea what happened with Halloween 2023.

This is a good video I hope for next crate update we actual get something good and the summer crates gave me hope for good cosmetics and I do think unusuals should try to be more unique but I can care less for unusuals

The unusual fireworks effect that has 7 variants was uploaded a good amount of years ago and thus had some original problems with it as the creator was semi new to the editor. That being said, it originally had 3 variants but when valve tried to implement them, it broke and they just compromised on making 7. So that's valves fault, similarly to how they fucked up the importing of the new maps and cosmetics this Halloween

This scream fortress case did actually have some good ones this year, but not all of them are so A good example is the nightmare brim, or the cabinet mann, they've been getting better One of my favorite cosmetics came from Christmas 2021 case, the El fiestabraro, I agree that the other cosmetics were weak as of recent, but when it's good, it's really good

I just skipped through this video, so sorry, but I don't think you've mentioned the sheer amount of plagiarism or soft-plagiarism that the workshop experiences. Like, seriously, there's so many copycat cosmetics but also effects in the game, it is sad to behold. The saddest examples are probably the slightly bigger eagle for Soldier's shoulder and the xmas present effect from 2021, which is the same idea as the xmas present effect we got in 2019. If you did mention it, good, I just skipped through the video. I am just sad that people are seemingly okay with all of this shit, from the bots since 2017, to the lack of proper updates/fixes and just the shitload of horrible, disgusting cosmetics we've received over the past few years. Also, I do know you mentioned hat effects being stale, but I am specifically talking about taunt effects, earlier when I mentioned the present effect.

Being a big horror fan and halloween being my favorite holiday I'm still annoyed that Halloween restrictions still exist but you're allowed to have ugly ass festive weapons and Christmas cosmetics all year round that stick out like a sore thumb. Why not just give an option like some kind of checklist setting that let's you visually disable cosmetics for your game? (*Disable all smissmiss*) (*Disable all screamfortress*) (*Disable all unusuals*) (*Disable all cosmetics so everyone shows up as default*)

Games a free valve money generator, you get attention and updates when the game starts dying, but it's so into everything that even if everyone that talks about it leaves it'll still have enough casual people there to feed it for years to come.

A silly hat once and a while being added used to be the exception (with the exception of halloween) back in the day. Now it seems like it's the reverse with constant tacky trash flooding the game instead of widely popular clothing that fits all year
