I flew with Etihad business Zurich to Kuala Lumpur in Nov this year. I enjoyed the flight a lot and I have no complains whatsoever with the crew. The meals were great, the drinks as well. The inflight service was very good. My seat facing forward was comfortable. The only issue I had was the Abu Dhabi business lounge, it was full to the top and only a few seats were comfortable.

Kevin, I worked in Dubai for 4 years, DXB and EK, were the airport and airline of choice. A couple of times I traveled out of AUH… really bad to say the least. As usual I love your video and review. I wanted to add a little update. Recently watched an Etihad review (let's just call it a promotion at this point) by Tiezheng. l won't mention the channel name deliberately. Anyway, he stated that "Etihad have a strict filming policy," and because of this (he is a resident of UAE), he requested to film on board prior to boarding. Of COURSE, this was granted, and with it came all the VIP treatment, priority boarding to get all the best angles, extra attentive cabin crew attending to him, fun hang outs in the galley Sam style with attractive FA and the list goes on. He still tried to add some "constructive criticism" about the food or whatever, but overall, it was in no way a true representation of what the regular passenger would experience. The reason l mentioned it is because of your HONEST content, watching that particular video was a stark contrast to your experiences, and while the content creator is very funny, the video just showed that unsponsored content is rare so keep up the great work Kevin 👌

Kevin, I'm sure you know the Midfield Terminal has now been open for a couple of months, so I'd love to see you do a review out of there! I haven't personally visited any Etihad lounges there, though I have been to the (currently) only Priority Pass lounge there, the Pearl Lounge, which is a bit disappointing imo. However I did visit the Business Lounge in the old terminal a few times and I have to say I didn't find it too bad, though it was never too crowded when I went. Now that their airport has been elevated to the level of their competitors, I think Etihad truly has a golden opportunity to re-emerge as a powerful force once again in the Middle East; however time will tell. I have them booked from Muscat to Spain this summer and find they offer lower fares than many competitors save Turkish and have a solid hard product on their 787 to compliment the amazing airport

I recently flew Frankfurt to Singapore via AD & i didn't actually think the business class price was worth it. Seat cushioning was thin & uncomfortable & I almost feel that since Covid standards have lowered for business class.

I just transited Abu Dhabi from Zurich to Kuala Lumpur. My impressions from the messy airport are exactly the same as you mentioned. I also agree with your description of the business class seat. Odd was also the lack of privacy, compared to other business classes. The food I had was quite good, especially the "sambal sea bass" I had on the way to KL was one of the best airline dishes I ever had. disappointing is the wine selection; it shows clearly the fundamental problem of Etihad: they try to be a premium boutique airline, but they economise so much that pretension and reality still produce a visible gap.

Thanks for the honest review of Etihad. Like Emirates, I always assumed Etihad provided a similar high level of service-so thanks for the heads-up on their mediocre, at best, service offered both at their Abu Dhabi hub and on-board. Once again, another great video but since you DO request feedback on how to improve your videos-here's mine : it would be great if you can either reformat that disclaimer or get rid of it all together. Having said that, you do create honest, informative and entertaining content so please keep them coming - Thanks !!

Your videos are amazing! And I agree. Every time I fly through AUH, I'm baffled by their mediocre lounge filled to brim with couch sleepers especially in the later evening... I don't think we can expect any progress until that terminal issue is sorted which is a shame😬

I agree the airport needs to be improved, although the new terminal is finished I'm not completely sure if its gonna be open anytime soon. As it's been more the 90% complete since 2019.

I lived in abu dhabi for six years until around 2013 and find it hilarious how little the airport has changed. Knowing how long it takes to build anything over there, by the time the new terminal opens, I will be dead

Excellent review. I fully agree the AUH hub and it's business lounge is awful. It's literally the same terminal I transited through as a 5 year old.. 30 years ago! For a layover longer than 3 hours I think adding 100 usd to upgrade to the first class lounge might almost be worth it.

I had a better experience than you did. I flew their A350-1000 business class and it was just awesome. On par with Qatar. Agree with you about AUH lounge though.

I still don't get the "Budget Luxury" title on the thumbnail. Was the ticket literally cheap or did the reviewer feel shortchanged for the amount he paid which would mean the price was not worth it? I agree with the sentiments about AUH having transitted there 10x in the past year. This is hardly within Etihad's control and shouldn't be scored against the airline (or any airline in future reviews). Comprehensive trip report by the way. Keep up the good work.

Harsh score for Etihad... I've flown with them a lot and their terminal in Abu Dhabi and their lounge there is my biggest complaint about them. They need to open their new terminal asap for sure!

I like your straightforward and honest reviews! But honestly, since you arrived at 11 PM and had to hang around for about 3 or 4 hours, why not just pay a few dollars and pick out a nice luxury hotel and spend the night (or two) in Abu Dhabi. And then begin the delightful journey onward, including a visit to that fabulous steamy hot shower room! 😂
