Bit of a yack on this video, wasn't sure whether to upload or not, but it formed part of the build so I figured might as well. Hopefully it maybe helps someone out

Just drove to OSE here in the states. I dont live far from it. I met the owner Steve, he gave me some free straps and high flow cooling tubes while i checked out his boats. I wound up pulling the trigger on one of the new Zondas he has there. He has all the Proboats and a lot of custom boats, including these TFL Zondas new in boxes. I got the black one and go back to see him tonorrow so we can get it set up together in his shop with the servo, radio, recie er and all the parts amd peices that need to get installed. Im pumped, all i have now is rhw sonicwake v2. I want a little more thrill. I want my heart to pound like it does when i do land speed runs. Greats vids!✌️

Looks good. I had my zonda upside down on a fairly shallow angle for my epoxy tips, to need as little epoxy as possible to make for them to connect over the center tunnel.

Well mate then I did what I set out to do! I should have made it clearer, but do not forget to leave the small gap between the drive dog and stinger before running!! Cheers brother!

I just bought a TFL genesis 1122 twin motor 900 and it’s the same as the zonda it has a 2 piece shaft and I can’t figure out how to grease the shaft, do I have to complete take off the strut or just loosen the collets on the inside?
@easternrc1924
@easternrc1924 Жыл бұрын
Depends on how much space you have between the motor and thr shaft tube. Sometimes you can undo the collett and the grub screw holding the collett to the motor and remove it allowing you to slide the shaft out through inside of the boat. Failing that, it's struts off to access the shaft. The zonda isn't so bad in that the strut is kind of 2 piece and can be removed whilst retaining its position

You should have left 5 mm between the drive dog and your stinger the thickness of the nylon washer isn't enough. Hope you don't destroy your flex shafts when they tighten up at full speed.

Maybe you didn't notice the addendum text I put into the video explaining that gap is required. But thanks for letting me know the advice all the same mate
@hubcityrcworx7266
@hubcityrcworx7266 2 жыл бұрын
You don't need 5mm of gap. At most 2mm, the flex shaft does not compress that much. The gap he is running is just fine

Thanks for posting. What about your teflon liners?
@easternrc1924
@easternrc1924 3 жыл бұрын
Good question mate. You can get away with doing nothing to them, but some people recommend replacing the line so that it is longer and extends down into the strut

I know this video is a little older but would anyone be able to help me with my Zonda 41? I need new propeller shafts but im having a hard time finding parts for it. My original prop shafts ends measure 103mm but it seems like online they say its supposed to take a 100mm shaft which just barely isnt long enough to work because ive already tried. Do i just have the wrong parts or did i get a knock off Zonda?🤣
@easternrc1924
@easternrc1924 3 ай бұрын
You may be able to move your collets down on the motor shaft a little more, this could buy you a few mm. Just remember that the fitment of the shaft is not supposed to be super tight. So when you slide the shaft down into the square drive end, you can pull it forwards 2 or 3mm. Alternatively, make the assembly a single piece setup
