I had it for a year now and had zero to no issues with the Trailhawk 2.0L I4 model. I've put 8,000 miles on it so far. Went on multiple Camping trips and played in the snow with it here in MN.

Best most useful vehicle I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned many! Love the 2019 Turbo limited 4x4 w/tech package, luxury group, priced $38k, purchased 2020 from enterprise via Jeep dealer at $18k low miles, I’ve tested in severe snow, mountain trails, towing uphill 3600lbs no tow package, no problem with heat, heavy rain / wind, and deep mud. I’ve tuned mine, but I know a guy that took the v6 to new levels with major power. Major difference, 3.2 more linear torque. The 2.4 pushed our 4x4 20’ compass no problem, the 3.6 moves the GC L RWD quickly as well. Big Jeep fan, the Cherokee has had 0 issues in 60k+ miles, 2 1/2 yrs.

Have had a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk since new. Every single option minus the ventilated seats. Has been awesome! Downside: Although it was covered under warranty, the entire driveshaft needed to be replaced (OEM) at about 30k miles. Also, the rear-axle seal rusted around the edges, causing it to squeak (at about 25k miles). This was replaced with new OEM parts under warranty, too. Other than that (and after several software updates for the 9-speed, which did help), my TH has been bulletproof. The 3.2 VVT V-6 has power, and a throaty exhaust note. FCA has done one hell of a job with Jeep. FCA realizes the value of the brand, and has poured money into it. It shows in every way. Jeep is no longer the DaimlerChrysler -- or Chrysler -- of old. It's a true, high-quality brand with a solid product. When you want ruggedness along with a capable, high-fun-factor machine, let's face it -- most signs point to Jeep. In the past, one may have steered clear, though, due to what we all remember ... how often they broke or had constant problems. Jeep is no longer that type of "Jeep," so to speak. The stuff now fuses ruggedness, practicality, luxury, reliability and quality. Having said that, I would have expected the drive shaft to last a hell of a lot longer. But, keep this in mind: Jeep really rushed the 2014 Cherokee out the door in late 2013, without fully vetting it. The 2015 largely was identical to the 2014, other than the V6 getting start/stop. So, if you want a Cherokee, 2019 is the year to go to ... we are now only two or so years away from a full, ground-up makeover. So, the 2019 is now a fully refined (and refreshed) current-generation Cherokee.

I have a 2019 Cherokee trailhawk with the sunroof, heated seats, power lift gate, and the v6. I really love the vehicle it gets reasonably good gas mileage (I average about 27mpg), and I think the redesign makes it look sharp. I’m also a Jeep Technician at a dealership and I haven’t seen many issues with the Cherokee. I would recommend it to anyone looking for smaller suv.

We just took ownership of a 2019 Overland Cherokee in the brownstone pearl and tan leather interior. It is a beauty :)We've had several Grand Cherokee but we no longer need the additional room. Since the 2019 Cherokee was restyled, we really liked the look and decided to downsize, somewhat! But, we still wanted all the bells and whistles and ordered an Overland. We really love it. The color is beautiful and the interior is very rich. I'm loving the blind spot alert :)

I'm looking at ordering the same, just different colors, I'm curious what pulled you into the brownstone pearl? I saw the tan leather in a review on here somewhere and loved it! But I'm thinking velvet red or graphite, but I'm open to suggestions!

@@doncurtis3402 In the past, we would buy white. But when I saw the brownstone in the brochure, it was a color that we had never seen on the road. So we went out of our comfort zone and ordered the brownstone pearl! It really compliments the tan interior nicely. Granted the Cherokee doesn't have to pick up that we were used to with the Grand but we are very happy driving it. We like the smaller size also. I have bad back issues and the Cherokee sets lower so it is definitely easier to get into/out. Our salesperson was wise in directing us to order the Overland package to get equal extras that we had in the Grand Cherokees. We also added the advanced safety option. I have not attempted the auto park yet ;-)

I was little turned off with Tan leather, but after short time I began to like color and get compliments on interior color to. Really want V-6 but Chrysler has lot of experience with 4 cylinder turbo engines. Surprised came with tow package because of 4 cylinder engine. Plan on a Sea-doo purchase tow package will 👍.

I purchased a new 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited a couple of weeks ago. Mine is equipped with the new 2.0 turbo 4. It performs well, and coming from a Chrysler 300 with a V6, this engine is a lot more athletic, it does have a slight lag when it is first engaged, but not horrible. My only comment I would make, the engine is slightly noisy during acceleration. The turbo also prefers premium fuel so if you don't want the higher fuel cost, then I'd say go with the V6. But, the 4 cylinder seems to be more efficient and returns better gas mileage. I am very pleased with the purchase. I reside in the upper midwest, where it is very cold int he winter and we get a lot of snow. I look forward to the 4x4 that Jeep is know for On a side note regarding the negative comments about FCA. This is my second FCA vehicle, and honestly, it is probably the most reliable, and well built product lineups I've owned for vehicles. The absolute worst car I've ever owned was a 2009 Honda Accord, so the imports are not the miraculous perfection people assume.

Michael Oehler My 2008 Civic had the air conditioner fail after only a few years (compressor failure), and there was a class action lawsuit about the visors coming apart because the glue can’t hold up to any warm climate (like if your car sits in the sun during the day at work). The engine and transmission have been great, but when the rest of the vehicle is a bit of a POS it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth...

I have a 2019 trailhawk with every single option (including factory rock rails, technology package and the 9 speaker audio system MSRP was over $45k). I had an almost fully loaded 2017 trailhawk before this with the stock audio system and I will tell you that the stock system sounds 10x better than the 9 speaker system. The stock system has a nice combination of base/mid/and treble from each speaker while the upgraded system sounds tinny with base only coming from the subwoofer and you can't even really hear the rear speakers in the front seats. I'm getting ready to change out the speakers with only 70 miles on the odometer. You made the right choice coming from someone that has had both audio systems. I think that my focus st's audio system sounds better than the Jeeps 9 speaker system honestly

I leased a 2019 Limited V6 on May 23. It has everything I wanted, so far so good. Have driven it about 1200 miles. Really like the adaptive cruise and can't wait to use the heated steering wheel this coming winter. It drives and rides nicely. Only gripe is the 9 speed auto. It is quick to upshift and slow to downshift. I would think with 9 speeds it would always be able to find the right gear. My second choice was a Ford Escape but it was a 2018 and a 4 cyl. The Jeep was actually less money. A good friend of mine is a service writer at the dealership I purchased from so I know I will be taken care of. He said the 2017 and 2018 have been very reliable but to stay away from the 2016 and older models.

First off, GOOD JOB on this review and all the different packages available. Also, THANK YOU, to all of the people who left comments on here pertaining to how their 4 cyl's are not really a sufficient power train for this Jeep, also about the recall's and glitches in the 4 cyl motors. Just like new software. That will save me the agony of purchasing an underpowered, but nice Jeep, as I am currently pricing out and trying to decide what I will need to have under the hood, when I purchase my Fifth Jeep to date. Looking to part with my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, with the 5.7 LT. Hemi, which I Love, even though the gas mileage is not great. Just hit over 103-K on the odometer, so, time to trade it in or sell it, and upgrade. Its good to hit the gas and the Jeep responds quickly, in those situations when you need that extra acceleration. I had a 60-90 Mile commutes to work, for 15 yrs, with a lot of highway driving. BUT, because of Inflation, and my Lead Foot, as the Officer in Blue told me, I need to downsize to a smaller and more efficient Cherokee. Being a former Grease Monkey, or Technician, as they are now called, I have been pricing out the Cherokee Latitude-Plus models, BUT, I am skeptical if the 4 cyl. is a good fit for this scaled down version, given its Gross Vehicle Weight. Most of the Jeep's, the one I have now is my fourth one in a row, that I have been viewing are predominantly the 4 cyl. Thanks to this video, and some of the comments I have read from people who own(ed) one, and know what they are talking about, that posted comments on here, I am now SURE, NOT to get the 4 cyl. A few extra miles per gallon is a small comfort when you need some quick response in those close calls while driving. I will be looking for at least a 6 cyl. Again, GOOD JOB, and THANKS for the Jeep Owners Feedback. Much Appreciated. Mr. Ed Ski.....

I have the early 2015 version called the Cherokee Sport, 2 wheel drive, 2.5 liter engine married to the early 9-speed trans and love it. I found 2 problems and not sure if corrected in newer vehicles ... 1) rain gutter design is poor with water pouring in the driver's window even if just cracked open. 2) the 9-speed trans shifting pattern is not set up for Canada's metric speed system ... seems to be more appropriate for miles per hour. I couldn't fix item 1) but now drive 5k over the speed limit at 50kph and 8ish over at 100kph to get the correct shift pattern. Also I find I need to shift to neutral when going down steep hills as the trans downshifts far too low. Manual shifting works for a moment but is quickly overridden. I live in the Rocky Mountains and find the 2 wheel drive more than adequate. My vehicle came with poor performing snow tires on those described cheap 17" rims and I changed these to magnesium rims and high end tires which made all the difference in appearance and traction. I hope these comments help those looking to buy an older Cherokee.

I need a good daily driver, but I do go camping a lot and sometimes the roads to trailhead access are a bit sketchy and can be washed out or rocky. Hi. Thanks for the detailed and thorough review. QUESTION: Is it true that Navigation (GPS, maps, antenna etc) is already built into every 8.4" infotainment unit whether optioned initially or not; and if that is true, can the Navigation feature be activated thru FCA at any time after the purchase of the vehicle? I was told that both things are true but I'd like an expert answer.

Now that is something. I was just looking at jeep Cherokee for the wife. We are going with the v6, comfort and convenience, cold weather, in the latitude plus package. No tow package as she doesn't off road and I have my 2018 sport ram for towing. Yes it's a hemi with a 3.92 rearend. The question is there a quick order package that covers all 3 options so you are not being charged for the remote start twice

I just leased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with the 2.0L Turbo engine and the cold weather package. It's incredible! The only complaint I have so far is when you punch it, sometimes the transmission takes a moment or two longer that I would like to find which gear it needs to be in. Otherwise, that turbo engine really goes!

I had the V6 in a 2017 and now in a 2019 4x4 Latitude. I bought the white--I know it makes no difference today in resale value BUT it looks cool and is visible--and a lot of the roads in Austin are not lit once you are out of the downtown, University of Texas area. I consider the 2019 with the 3.2 V6 almost a safety feature as the straight 4 is underpowered-- if you are unfamiliar with the Jeep Cherokee try each one, especially getting on a highway. Try the Sand/Gravel setting in an appropriate area--it makes a real difference. I suppose I have the cheaper (ha ha) interior are my sales person is the manager of pre-owned vehicles, but my last Cherokee had 4 miles on it and this one had 345--they had to get it from another dealer. The restyling really makes this look more like the older Grand Cherokee with lots of facelift, I had a 2005 Laredo (rear wheel drive) which I don't recommend--I had light gray and was rear-ended once, and the rear wheel drive put me into a 360 degree spin. I never liked the limited slip differential, and this is what happens when part of the pavement is just a little wet but not the same as the other side. I was almost killed when a state road sign stopped my spinning--forward of the driver's side mirror. "nuff said about that." Love the looks and drivability of the new Cherokee--in 4x4 you have 4 settings including the gravel/sand/snow, but the regular FWD is sufficient. I'm getting around 20.5 mpg around Austin (some highways) with the V6.

The Turbo engine is new and not tried and tested like the V6 Pentastar that has evolved in the last 10 years. Also with all economy line turbo engine's the life span of the engine is cut in half. Why do you think Toyota refuses to incorporate turbo's in there engine's. If you don't plan on owing this vehicle for more than 4 years or depending on the miles you plan to put then I guess the turbo is fine. It requires premium fuel to be at it's best. I always tell people if there is a V6 option always take it over the turbo if engine life span and reliability is your prime concern.

sconri2. I did my research for months. I took some for test drives my Jeep can tow 4500 lbs while others half that amount. Same reason here. Also, I waited until this year for the kinks to get worked out in the redesign. I think this year model is a good year. It really gets a bad rap about the mileage too because I keep mine on the fuel efficiency setting on my dash so I can keep up with it and, granted I spend most of my time on hwy since I live right on the hwy and it stays at an average of 25 and that is factoring in the city. But when I am on the hwy I keep it in the adaptive cruise because it keeps the engine going more efficiently than I can. I fill this vehicle up at the same rate that I filled up my Mazda 7 that I traded. So I am seeing no difference really and I am much happier with what I am riding in. I do find that I go slower in this car because I am more cognizant of my gas mileage. It begins to really drink gas over 75 miles per hour. But what 4 wheel drive doesn't? You can't have everything. You have to prioritize your wants. It's also the smoothest riding Jeep I've ever had. As I am getting older, that was a plus for me.

Let's see how they feel about them after the last payment is done, the Warranty is up, and the engine is burning oil, the Transmission is slipping, the suspension needs replacing, the 4 wheel drive won't function correctly, and all the electrical failures! OMG!! I'm not wishing that on anyone! However, Fiat/ Chryslers are known to be the least reliable vehicles made!! If I were going to spend that much money on an off road SUV, it would be a Toyota Rave 4! Compare the Toyota after 4 years to the Jeep! The Toyota still will run mostly trouble free for many more years! The Jeeps... Lord have mercy! Remember, Jeep is just a name, the best ones ever built were from 1990- 2004, if you had the Straight six! Those were Jeeps! Millions still running today with 4-500,000 miles with original engine and Transmission! Chrysler has gone through many changes throughout the years since! None of them good! Ask any good Mechanic and you will hear about all the horror stories! Mechanics love Fiat/ Chryslers! They keep them very busy!

Just a note in Canada the lower cost ones are called Sport, then the North, and then the Limited. A Tailhawk is also available. Also, the Cherokee is a heavier vehicle that an Escape, RAV4, and CRV. It is not fair to compare them. We found the Cherokee is much quieter inside. I would choose the V6 over the 4 cylinder, on the highway there is little difference in fuel economy.

John Hart There’s 3 different 4X4 options, two of which are optional on Latitude (only the first system), Plus, Limited and Overland: the base 4X4 has all the off road modes, the upgraded 4X4 system gives about a 1 inch higher ride height and a couple more modes. From there the Trailhawk is the only one with the locking dif.

We did get the 2.4L, FWD only Cherokee "Sport" (Canada) - for a family city use vehicle, the 2.4L seems to merge into traffic - freeway merge- just fine. My city is too Photo-radar happy, so I'll let the Hemi Ram 2500s keep collecting those speed tickets. So we save on that, plus fuel economy, and insurance premiums maybe be lower as well (an issue up here in Alberta lately) If by chance the price of fuel does spike - like war in the middle east, for instance, fuel economy may once again be sought after. I think this 2019 Cherokee is a great driving vehicle if you don't possess a constant "need for speed".

@@davidgrothen3943 What are you talking about. The V6 has linear and consistent full Torque across the spectrum @1,500-4000 RPM. Not to mention it's a proven and tried engine that lasts. The 2.0 Turbo is new, unproven and we all know Turbo's reduce the lifespan of the engine and causes more issues down the line. Just ask Toyota since this is why they refuse to build or add turbo's to there engines. Turbo is a cheap tactic to please the EPA. Ask any mechanic regarding engines in general, Inline 4 or V6 and they will always tell you to go with the V6.

@mikejones8164 5 жыл бұрын
@@davidgrothen3943 3.2 unacceptable? Then you claim it was all high end power? That is not how the Pentastar works. The Penatstar is an interesting engine since it deleivers 98% of all it's torque in the low end. Yet you claim the power is all in the high end. You realize that the power of an engine is called Torque and the hp is sort of like how fast it delivers that torque. As mentioned by Stryker, if you look at a Dyno(that is where a car is put on a device with rollers to test it's HP and Torque.) it proves that the V6 delivers 98% of it's torque across the spectrum evenly at the low end. What more could you ask for since most engines in 20-40 thousand dollar cars require that you get the rpm's up high before the grunt of the Torque is delivered. Go look at any review of the 2.0 vs V6 and you will see that the difference isn't dramatic. Also the V6 is a proven and reliable engine while the 2.0 is brand new and unproven. It took Mercedes and then over to FCA, 7 years(2014) to make the Pentastar what it is today. This is usually the same for many other engines used from the competition.

Think about that for a second Now 169,000k is nothing buddy, so I was correct in saying that it's irrelevant you mentioning that your 19 year old jeep is tip top since by now you should have well over 800,000k. Nevermind how you conventionally avoided the main points to my counter argument. You know how the modern day jeep such as the one you are poo pooping and acting like your ancient Diamler Jeep is somehow just as good overall. Your body on Frame Cherokee drives like crap on the road-FACT. I mean I could list all the reasons why a newer more innovative Jeep excels in almost every category but as evidence by your last reply it would be pointless. Oh and guess what, I too am a Jeep guy and belong to many jeep forums and I go offroading with my friends when ever I get the chance. So why again are you here making a fuss? Please tell me you aren't one of those pretentious Jeep snobs that looks down at any thing modern jeep. You know the type that goes on about there obsolete, outdated, gas guzzling and mediocre performance that even a Toyota Camary puts to shame, Straight Six AMC design. What is sad about the Jeep community is 1/4 if them are there own worst enemy. Why can't you just appreciate the brand and the fact that the Wrangler is still in very high demand thanks to the bread and butter from the SUV line

Paul J rHey man, don't tell me my Jeep rides like shit on the highway! It's as smooth as any late model sedan! It's not a Cherokee, it's a Grand Cherokee! Just because the mileage is low for the year it's because I also have a 2007 Mercury grand MarquisLS! I alternate the two of them! I'm not looking down on the modern Jeeps, I've driven many of them, wasn't impressed! My Jeep has all new suspension giving it a fabulous ride! Yes it does not have the power or torque of the new ones, but For me 0-60 in 8 seconds is fast enough! It's an SUV, not a sports car! My Jeep has been completely rebuilt and restored to brand new! I did most of the work myself! I'm proud to drive her! Quality wise, Chryslers from 20 years ago were known for their reliability! Today, mention Fiat/Chrysler to any one savvy about the business, they are at the bottom for reliability! And that's a fact! You mentioned Toyota Camry! Are you saying Fiat/Chrysler is comparable to the Toyota line of cars and SUV's ? That's a joke if I've ever heard one! As far as a "Performance car goes, I also have a 1990 Lincoln MarkV11 LSC! It's got the 5.0 Mustang engine which I've done some modifications to.. And it will go 0-60 in 5 seconds! It's a gorgeous classic rare automobile growing in value every year! I'm not knocking anyone for purchasing a new Jeep wether it be the Wrangler, Compass, Cherokee or Grand Cherokee! They are all beautiful! I wish you, and all of our Jeep loving family members to enjoy the best off road vehicles ever!

@@joelspivak6622 Ok where to even begin here. I think it's important to note that the only reason you two are even arguing is because you instigated this. The question is why come here to shit on the new generation of jeeps that are nothing but a major improvement over a 19 year old SUV Jeep. The new jeeps do in fact drive better on the road, have better technologies and luxuries, and are more comfortable to just name a few things. Even the V6 Pentastar is proven and reliable. Why do you think Chrysler has used it for well over 8 years now and it powers the majority of there vehicles. Also it has instant Torque that is linear and consistent across the board. From 1500-4000rpm you get 100% Torque and plenty of hp. I know tons of people that have done well over 250,000K without any issues. It's a better modern day engine than your Straight 6 unless your definition is purely based on simplicity and potential millage. If that is the case then we might as well talk about Diesels, all the old 90's engines and even Toyota engines. So why are you here complaining about a Cherokee model that isn't even the Grand Cherokee. Oh by the way I used to own a 2000 Grand Cherokee in Shale Green Metallic, which I sold it in 2008. The very notion that my 2000 Cherokee even comes close to say for example my 2016 Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel Overland is short of ludicrous. Even the Cherokee KL in this video is in a completely different league than that old rust bucket. Your claim that It drives fine on the road is not the same as it drives as well or to the same caliber as the new ones. As mentioned by "John Q" the very simple fact that the 2000 Grand Cherokee's were Body on Frame SUV's meant that it's driving dynamic's were severely compromised. Also since you are behind the times, you fail to understand the many modern day innovations and engineering feats have made it possible for SUV's or even Jeeps to have similar handling capabilities as a sedan. Your excuse that "it's not a sports cars so who cares about it's cornering, performance and road mannerisms etc.. is a cope out. Last but not least I got a good chuckle when you claimed that during the Daimler Chrysler era 1998-2009 that Chrysler was known for reliability. Are you aware that 2000-2009 was one of the worst era's for Chrysler. Go ask anyone that hates and despises Chrysler and 90% of the cars they talk about were designed, manufactured and sold by Daimler Mercedes. Regarding FIAT, almost anyone that talks shit about Jeep or RAM saying it's nothing but a FIAT ends up regretting it as I simply make a fool of them. See they actually have no idea what has happened during the FIAT Chrysler merger = FCA. RAM for example has very little to do with the FIAT in terms of Engineering, platforms etc...The same applies to Jeep. Now I will admit that the Jeep Renegade is a travesty since that is an example of a FIAT child with the jeep badge. However that is the exception not the rule. FIAT owns Chrysler but there involvement is not what ignorant people think, instead if you truly understand the automotive world it's rather irritating to listen to others talk with authority when in fact all they are doing is parroting what they think needs to be said. Bare in mind the Jeep and RAM brand has only improved with FIAT's involvement = MONEY. RAM right now will be #2 in 2020 for Pickups and they are absolutely killing it compared to FORD. They are #1 when it comes to innovation, features and design. The Italians are the best when it comes to interior design and you see this with RAM and even Jeep. Just wait till 2020 when they refresh the Jeep line up. If you take a look at this Jeep, it's platform, engine and partial drive train are all from the Chrysler Jeep division and share no FIAT engineered designs. The transmissions on Jeeps come from ZF Germany. So Again where is FIAT's involvement or DNA found? The only place FIAT has had influence is with the Styling and they are one of the best in that department. The Cherokee KL is made up of 87% US parts and manufactured in Ohio with the Wrangler at the Jeep Plant. The only negative I see with FIAT is there Inline 4 engine which is crap and there minor tampering by introducing a FIAT European inspired model, such as the Renegade. As you can see they have been very careful and conservative testing the market. The end result is Americans don't want FIAT European cars. Thankfully most there vehicles give you 3 engine options. V6 Pentastar, 5.7 Hemi, the new Turbo inline 4 with 280hp. The V8 Hemi and Pentastar are great Chrysler engines. We now have the Jeep Pickup which I think is really cool since there has been a huge demand for one. FIAT or more specially Sergio Marconi

I have the original 2014 model. Transaxle replaced at 27,000 miles. Defective engine harness, defective trans ECU. More issues than I liked for sure. I have kept up with all the software updates especially on the 9 speed transmission. I have the 3.2 V6. On a recent 1200 mile trip I averaged 26.5 mpg. Pretty nice. Ride is excellent. I have the Lattitude with the electronics convenience group with Nav though nav was installed later as an update. Activated if you will. Overall this car reminds me of Honey I shrunk the Grand Cherokee in its ride. It handles better than a GC and stops better too. I rented a GC Limited 2017 and though I loved its cushy and luxury feel, it just was not as connected as the Cherokee was. I still think the GC transmission is better. the ZF 8 speed is way better than the 9 Speed ZF licensed transmission that FCA builds. Would I buy a Cherokee again. Yes, the Trailhawk with the V6. But a Grand Cherokee limited with upgraded brakes later and I would be happy. Nice video Tommy!

I rented a Grand Cherokee in October 2020, and I concur. It was a great car. but when I am the only occupant of the vehicle 95% of the time, it's just too much car. The Cherokee is the right size for what I need.
