With the complexity and cost of todays vehicles all basic warranties should be 10 year 100k mile minimum

I don't disagree, we're living in an age where full size pickups are as fast as Ferrari's from the 1980s. We don't need more power we NEED things that will last a long time. I'm driving a 2011 F-150 5.0L that I bought new, it just rolled 105K miles, I bought it thinking maybe in a decade I would look into trading in on a new one, but the 2024 equivalent of my truck is nearly 20K more than what I paid for my 2011. The price of new trucks today tells me it'll be more economical to just keep my 2011 well maintained and running for as long as possible and when something does eventually give on it, it'll probably be cheaper to just replace whatever goes out at that time, be it engine or transmission or whatever.

ANdre, A couple comments for your next test- 1-SOund of the engine exhaust under no load isn't very indicative of real world sound. How about some recordings taken on the side of the road wit the truck driving by under various degrees of load or a mike onthe rear of the truck so you could hear it while driving. Would love to hear full load at both low and high RPMs as well as normal sound. 2-FOr those of us in rust country and with a truck as a second vehicle how the truck survives winters salt is important. Many trucks rust away before they are mechanically worn out id driven less than 20,000 miles per year. Perhaps you could have a Ram guy address how the corrosion protection has been updated with particular attention to the bottom of the tailgate, bottom of doors, rocker panels and over the rear wheels. Also ask them why Ram doesn't make a proper factory rust proofing system available as an option. The dealer provided system depends so much on the applicator and because it is a shitty job to do it doesn't get well trained and experienced people doing the work.

I drove the Ecoboost with my wife when we were looking and she said her minivan sounded better. This seems to have the same problem. We also drove the Ram and ended up buying a 2019 Laramie quad cab. The Hemi was one of the big reasons. The Hemi just felt and sounded right. The interior was also significantly nicer than Ford or GM. Ram/Dodge made a name for themselves with the Hemi. Will be interesting to see how they do without it especially if they don’t bring another v8 into the mix.

Really wish they would have kept the 12” screen and physical buttons. I have the 12” on my 2020 and it’s great. The comfort settings being in the screen menu is a small annoyance but I can deal. I know everyone is gonna miss the Hemi, and I am too. I have a 2018 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi and I love it. But more HP and more torque from an inline 6 than the 6..4 Hemi has is impressive. And that's from the standard Inline 6 (never mind the HO). I am really hoping the 2500 and 3500 are going to get the H.O. Inline 6 option. Or even better, a bigger inline 6 with even more power than the 1500 H.O. Maybe a 5.0 Inline twin turbo straight six?
