It's our favorite Tsonga Gurl! I love what you say in the start of the vid, new month which is another opportunity to fix the wrongs, or reinforce the good habits already developed. I must commend you also for inspiring the young people also to start investing unlike waking up in their 40s and realize how difficult, not impossible it is to start thinking like this. Lol! I am glad to see that you gonna add gradually to your TFSA this year which means you will be applying the DCA strategy instead of going in all at one go which is not wrong by the way. With all your investments maybe another video idea (sticking with the new tax year theme) is how you maintain the taxes that are due on them. And then maybe do a recap when tax filing season comes around.

You can, you either transfer that FNB one to EasyEquities or you can have two TFSA’s but when you deposit money you must not exceed 36K on both combined not each.

I started investing in TFSA two years back with the bank contributing money and the interest is very low. this year my plan is to invest with EasyEquities, still contributing monthly🧚🏽‍♀️🧚🏽‍♀️

All the best with your new TFSA Moo-Tee✨ Remember that you keep the bank one while having the EE one you’ll need to insure that your contributions to all your TFSA’s combined does not exceed 36K.

Happy Tax year babes 🎉🎊 Correct me if am wrong with a Tyme Bank goal save you can't do a partial withdrawal right? So based on what you saying one might miss out on the incredible interest rates. So how will not putting the R36k in your TFSA and investing monthly not work? When you saying "Bank ETFsdon't give good returns and they are low risk" are you referring to a cash based ETF or those offered by Banks for example Ashburton 1200 is a FNB ETF?

Happy New Tax year ✨ Great points! I made an verbal error there, I meant to say bank TFSA’s not ETFs 🙈 With the Tyme bank goal save account you can withdraw your money at any point in time, unless they’ve changed the rules. Keeping the the whole 36K on EasyEquities and investing gradually will have you incur fees and gain very little interest on that balance. I personally don’t want to invest the 36K once off, I want to invest gradually per month so, if I had the full 36k already it would have been saved in my Tyme bank goal save account and I would withdraw and transfer funds to EE when I’m ready to buy some ETFs. Let me know if you need me to clarify further 😊

True, you cannot make partial withdrawals on tyme bank. So you'll have to unfix the whole amount everytime you want to make deposit to EE

Hi Tisa. Wish we could not be taxed for CGT for making R36k profit on our normal EE accounts to transfer to our TFSA. I know first R23800 is not taxed but wish government would give us a break by raising it to the maximum R36k per year.

Hey Tisa. Thanks for the great content. I a trying to take charge of my finances and find it increasingly overwhelming especially with 2 kids. However, anything is possible. I'll remain optimistic. I have 3 months worth of salary put away in my tyme bank account under emergency fund. I recently made that deposit from an absa depositor plus account. So much time and money wasted. I also have a standard bank tax free savings account. The normal one. I've managed to save R15000 in that account. Yesterday I registered in Easy Equities but have no clue how it works. Would it make sense to transfer this money to a TFSA or Easy Equities or just a small portion of it while I learn how to invest? Also, I already have a retirement annuity for additional supplementing to my pension fund, so does a TFSA even make sense? I really want to start investing, just so confused as to where and how? I'd really just love to earn some dividends on a monthly basis for saving and reinvesting, especially towards my kids education. Please help. What would you do??

Limits on those accounts depend on what you filled in as income when registering. So everyone has a different limit. I stand to be corrected ☀️

I hear you say, your TFSA is for the loooongest term. So I want to know, what happens after reaching the 500k limit? Do we have to withdraw the money? Or is the money just going to continue growing with/out being taxed?How does it work?

Hey Dineo, after you teach your limit you just stop contributing to the TFSA all together and watch the money grow, I can still sell the ETFs I want to sell and use that money to buy new ones etc. You don’t have to withdraw the money.

Yes it’s completely okay, it doesn’t affect you, but you can’t catch up by adding double the amount the next Tax year when you have the money. Some TFSA providers require and regular amount deposited.
