We are on Lesson 7 and are so happy with this unit study. I especially liked the first lesson about truth. I really hope TGATB would consider binding all the units like this, it is so convenient.

My husband is literally a constitutional expert. He can give reference specific amendments and articles in everyday conversation. It always amazes me. Looking forward to going through this curriculum in our homeschool!!

We are studying medieval times right now in history, but my family wanted to add this curriculum into our school year. We started doing the lessons on Friday and call it Freedom Fridays. Our morning time is changed up to include music, poetry and art based around early American history. Then we do a lesson of TGTB Constitution curriculum. We are loving the swap to our normal routine.

We started it last week and I am loving it!!! My kids have enjoyed it too. I am excited about it too, which hasn’t always been the case with history. We are including my husband when we can as well. Thanks for sharing with us, as always! 💜

I’m waiting for my kids to be a bit older to do this. I’m so excited to start this. As a minority I can tell you more ppl should be excited about this rather than criticize it! My husband wants to participate as well! Ty for your videos, thanks to them we are using TG&TB and is such a blessing! I’m learning so much by teaching my kids!

I downloaded the file so that I can print it out in the future, my girls are all still on the younger side (1st & 3rd & a 2yo!) Love how passionate you are about this! This is the kind of enthusiasm your children need to see when talking about the constitution & our freedom!

Yes! I’m so excited to start this course! I plan on my hubby joining in, too. I tore it apart and cut and laminated certain activities and put it in a binder. The Rush Revere book series by Rush Limbaugh would go along perfect with this course. My children LOVE those books!

I just ordered The Patriots Almanac. We are just about to begin the first lesson in this course this afternoon. I ordered an additional journal for myself to work through and once my mom saw this course, she ordered a whole set for herself. I don't know anyone who wouldn't benefit from the info presented in this course. I recently read, "The American Story: The Beginnings" by David and Tim Barton and I cannot recommend it enough. It is incredibly well sourced and a fantastic read.

So excited to purchase and teach this course! My children are young (Elementary) but it’s never to early to teach patriotism and to have a strong knowledge and love for your country!

Great video! Thank you for sharing your plans. I do plan on doing this course with my boys (they are on the younger side 8 years old and 6 years old). We will probably do it in the spring time when we have completed some other curriculum. Even though, I am Canadian, I see the importance of this course and for myself and my family. Thanks for sharing this! We have similar plans. We will be adding this a couple times a week to our US HISTORY unit study that was already planned. I also have a high schooler that will be doing this course. I am looking forward to learning from this as well. I have never fully read through the constitution and I love that we will be in this course! Keep being a light Ashlee ♥️

My oldest is only in first grade but I love this so much, may just have to get it to hold onto. Can’t wait to use this and learn as a family when he’s old enough. Thanks for sharing.

We are on our history 4 as well. I love the idea of doing this course prior to Unit 3 of history 4. Thank you for the additional book/resource ideas to complement this unit study.

We are on lesson four today and we have been enjoying it. I feel discouraged though because I’m feeling like it’s too little too late. That try as we may… we are too far past standing for and defending our constitution. Like we are just beating the wind at this point. Maybe I’m being far too pessimistic. But I’m concerned there’s no saving what America was established to be now… we are too far gone. Lord forgive me for being negative :( I’m just so beat down by all that’s happening and by the caving in going on around me amongst people I never expected to cave to tyranny.

I ordered this right away and can't wait to get started! We're going to be starting it after the holidays as well. I agree that many adults in this country could use an American History and Constitution "refresher" course. I'm excited to learn right along with my daughter!

Highly recommend 1776 the musical if you like musicals and a good laugh. Also, David McCollough’s 1776 and John Adam’s books are phenomenal. HBO’s mini series of John Adam’s is also a winner.

I’m teaching this to my daughter once a week as TGATB suggests. Some of the lessons are longer, so it is pretty extensive. I’m having a lot of fun learning this course with my daughter and hope she will retain this information for a long time.

We've already started this course. You're right that most adults do not know the information in this study. I'm using it for my 10th, 8th, and 4th graders. It's not a complete government course, but it is definitely something that you can count towards high school credit any way you see fit. ;) The novel and the case files have been our favorite components!!

We are planning on doing this study as a whole family! My husband and I both agree that we never learned anything about the constitution in depth so we both need to go through it as adults!

We've added this as of quarter two. We do one lesson a week. We've loved it so far. The novel is fun. We are on year three of history, so it goes well with our Bill of Rights game. I have one in grade 8 & one in grade 5, so I'm giving credit for a Government course. I would if my daughter were in grade 9 this year, too. Our state is pretty lenient, so no reason not to. It's a great curriculum!

We started this a few weeks ago. Using it with my K, 1st, 5th, 5th, 7th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 12th graders as an add on. My toddler and preschooler will get to color too!

I would love to hear any suggestions you have on teaching constitution to a younger kiddo. My son is 6 going on 7. I am working on teaching him some basic American history, civics, citizenship, social studies to get a good foundation. I am anxious to teach this to my 11 year old but my son isn't quite ready for this. I would love to do it together as a family. Any suggestions for modifications for younger kiddos are appreciated.

@@zovercomer I just have the littles color while I read to the older ones. They'll get what they get out of it. Once they get older they'll get more out of it and will remember some of what they heard just coloring when little.

I'm really excited about this course! I'm planning to do it next year with my daughter & counting it towards a high school credit. I'm going to add in some biographies and other resources to make it a full 1/2 credit course. Nothing I have seen so far in other high school course options appears to come close to the depth of what is being taught in this course!

I've considered doing the same and adding a bit to count as the "Government" portion of my son's Government and Economics credit for highschool. Nothing else I've looked at goes into the depth and would keep his interest the way I feel this would. I wonder if that would work.

He will be in the 11th grade and really wants to do it but his plate is full with higher level courses so I can't see doing it without giving a credit if that makes sense.

I ordered this even though my kids are 5 and 7. I know we will not be able to use it for a few years. Lol I was so curious and wanted to have it for when they're ready. I've ordered some constitution picture books to get us started in this direction.

As a kid, in public school, we were required to memorize the preamble to the constitution. I highly recommend all mamas to challenge their kids to do the same. I still can recite it..... but not without singing the silly tune. LOL.😂

My 9th grader is doing Shormann Biology this year and so far we love it! Super engaging, Dr Shormann has a gift for teaching and my son can work independently. We are going to switch to math next year!

We have already covered the Constitution with Moving Beyond the Page, but I can’t help but want to do this unit as well. I feel like our children can’t learn too much when it comes to the constitution.

I got in here late, but just wanted to let everyone know about a great Patriot's YT channel called Constitution Vet. He served in the Airforce for nine years, and since then has gotten his master's degree and teaches American government and history at a private school in Texas. He started his channel to teach and encourage citizens and students in these times. His videos are full of good information and resources. Check him out. We are using the channel as another resource for our American government course this year.

Hi Ashlee! Since your family has already completed the course could you recommend what you feel would give for a credit to your oldest for HS? I’m trying to figure out this for my own HS. Also, any other recommendations that you found helpful to round out the course for a high schooler?

Have you looked into Teen Pact? That's another option to earn HS credit for Civics.

I have an 9, 8, and 5 year old boys. Should I wait a few years to do this course or do it now and then do it again in a few years because they will learn more then? What do you recommend?
