I only have the first volume and I’ve only seen the dongua. I’m probably wrong about a lot of things-
Also- idk if it’s problematic but Qi Rong is my favorite character… idk why- I don’t know anything other than he stole a kid from Hualian and he is jealous and homophobic towards Hua Cheng.
Drawing the sprites was so fun tho! I drew Jun wu mostly from memory. I think it’s pretty accurate wouldn’t ya say?

In all truth though xie Lian picked up all these kids and puts them in his house then comes to check up on them every 3 days or so after hanging out with his boyfriend and feeds them the most disgusting food ever that is so pungent it would kill them if two of his kids weren't already dead. he tries but he has absolutely no idea what he's doing

This may be a spoiler? most info should be from the first book but I have read all the books so this may be influenced by the second book as well. I have a suspicion that QR had a crush on XL but since XL never liked him (even as a family member) he became homophobic to hide it and also belittled XL to “get back at him” 😂

Novel spoilers: It's hualian that took Guzi 😂 Qi Rong is Guzi’s dad but not really We like to joke that Jun Wu wants Xie Lian to be his son but really Jun Wu has this crazy obsession with Xie Lian. I'm not even gonna go into that last bit 😂
