Captured here are different vehicles of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) responding to emergencies or on patrol. Featured in the video are Mercedes Sprinter response/ patrol vans and traffic division patrol cars such as the Audi A6 and Toyota Prius.

МиљковићSRB Thank you! That seems to be the common Hong Kong style, also somewhat inspired by British police vehicles, which also sometimes use those smaller light-bars. I guess the idea is that the front lights are visible enough due to the grille lights, and the back is more visible with a wider light-bar.

Yo do you know the hk police got some new iveco dailys to replace the aging merc sprinters. While the fire department got new yellow ambulances(4 variants, 3 different test versions A501-3, while other new ambulances are also in yellow but old spec) and RRVs(bmw)

Nathan Law Yes I’m aware of all these new units 👍🏼 But I think replacing the Sprinters with Ivecos is a very ugly choice ☹️ They could have just bought more new Sprinters... The yellow ambulances and the BMW RRV look really cool though!

Nathan Law Interesting information. I had not heard about this before. I would be surprised if Mercedes actually refused to sell their cars, since they sell all over the world (and are not weapons of course). But it could be possible. Another thought could be that after Heckler & Koch refused to sell their guns to Hong Kong the government decided to boycott all German brands for the police force.

@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses HOWEVER, this could still be just a rumor as HKPD recently now acquired a 6x6 Merc Sprinter for the Bomb Disposal team, and some Merc Vito 114cdi and VW caddy for general purposes. This could be quite conflicting

After whole year of police brutality in the protests, the approval ratings of the government and the police plunged to the bottom, including me, many of us have zero trust and respect on the police and government.

Some police cars of hong kong, including Audi A4 and Toyota Prius, are similar those of the UK, since the Hong Kong is an former british territory.

Monkey16NL Ask any time ;D I like European sirens. I’m from Europe (Germany) myself, so I grew up with those sirens. I also like variety in siren tones (wail, yelp, priority, Rumbler, Q etc), but honestly anything that is flashy and loud is cool in my eyes! 🤩

HK police cars stripes and pattern are similar like the ones in UK.

Yes, they are based on the British designs because HK used to be a British colony.
