In the ending credits of each episode of season 1 there is 1 code that is either a group of letters or numbers. If it's numbers, each number is a letter of the alphabet A=1 Z=26 called an A1Z26, if it's letters you crack it by going 3 letters back for each letter ex DOO = ALL. The code for this episode is: 14-5-24-20 21-16: "6-15-15-20-2-15-20 20-23-15: 7-18-21-14-11-12-5'19 7-18-5-22-5-14-7-5." Which translates to: NEXT UP: "FOOTBOT TWO: GRUNKLE'S GREVENGE." While there are also some bonus codes inside certain episodes you are unlikely to find them without rewatching each episode at least once. Season 2 has both an A1Z26 number code and another type of cipher called a Vigenère cipher which needs a keyword to decrypt. The keyword for each cipher is hidden inside of the episode and is marked with a styled cartoon key symbol. After finding the keyword you then have to consult a table of letters to find out what the message is. Ex. code is SRBZTXYZJSKZBLQCEN keyword is GRAVITY message translates to MABELEATSSPRINKLES to MABEL EATS SPRINKLES. Also read first reply to this for the third type of cipher found in the series.

I personally think that, in Truth Ache, Stan is fully aware of the magical teeth. I kinda like to think that he intentionally says the most annoying or disturbing truths he can, all to "get back" at the kids. But that's entirely my own theory. Lol. Gravity falls is full of cipher! Aside from cipher in the end credit, if you ever see string of number or random letters in the episode, it's probably a cipher. Sometimes just jokes, sometimes gives you some clue. There are different kinds of cipher too. Season 2 cipher is much more complicated than season1. Cracking the codes is fun and gives you some more mystery but you can enjoy the story without cracking them too

In the irl version of Diary 3 there is an entry about the bottomless pit! Don't read this below if you want to see it for yourself There is a drawing of how the pit works. It's like an 8, with an exit on top...and another near the bottom. The things are thrown in there usually go back to the top, but there is a low amount that don't return and go through the one of the bottom. The author believes it leads to another universe

So, in the official book 3 merchandise its revealed that the bottomless pit is an infinity-shaped hole with another hole connected to it that go to another dimension or smth. I know it sounds weird but I don't know how to explain it. There's pictures of it online if you wanna search for it. Some things just fall through to the other dimension while some things come back out because of a small smth that will be revealed in the finale

Season 1 is good, but it's really just about getting to know the characters and the town, and setting things up for season 2. Season 2 is where Gravity Falls goes from being a very good show to being a great show.
