This video shows the progressive acceleration of the TGV V 150 all the way up to the record speed of 574.8 km/h.
I give credit to nulos00 for the two video pieces, which I have assembled into one. V 150 stands for 150 m/s or 540 km/h. The TGV should have been named V 160, since 574.8 km/h is just lower than 160 m/s.

The perfect set of sound tracks to go with the speed of the TGV. Simply a perfect mix of music and speed. GREAT JOB!!!!

As much as I appreciate Freddie Mercury, there shouldn't be music in this video. The sounds of the cabin are also an important element of the experience.

Comparing maglev and electric traction is like comparing apples and oranges. They are two different modes of traction.
@TheNewGreenIsBlue
@TheNewGreenIsBlue 2 жыл бұрын
Not really all that different, really. It's no different to comparing jet engined planes and turbo-prop planes. They serve similar purposes, but economically, jet engines have won for longer routes. Maglev and conventional HSR are different, but so are regular rail and HSR... it's not like you can run a High speed train on a conventional transport line at high speed... even though they often share the same rail gauge. Electric traction and Maglev are *comparable*, just not *compatible*... much like urban subway trains are often comparable, but not compatible... try running a NYC subway train on Paris on Montreal's metro system if you don't believe me.

The train is not in constant full acceleration. there are phases were it lowers and raises pantographs, gradient changes along the line, especially at the high speeds (> 500 km/h). When that happens the train maintains speed and sometimes decelerates. Look for other videos about this record speed.

she is talking about the magnetic elevation train. the world record on rail (magnetic): 581 kmh (MLX01). But a magnetic elevation train + rails are a whole lot more expensive than "classic" rails... resulting in the fail of the transrapid project in germany.

nope japanese trains have max speed restriction at 300kmph for commercial passenger operations
@TheNewGreenIsBlue
@TheNewGreenIsBlue 2 жыл бұрын
@@mihirkarnick Incorrect. Depending on the line and trainsets, commercial passenger operations currently range from 260km/h (Hokuriku) to 320km/h (Tohoku line, E5/E6 trainsets). The Chuo line will run at 505km/h. In fact, the same N700S runs 285km/h on the East Japan Tohoku Line and continues on to run at 300km/h on the West Japan Sanyo line. A lot of the decision on line speed is not technical, but rather... environmental, or fiscal. The Tohoku line runs trains rate and tested for daily 360km/h operation. But due to strict Japanese noise pollution laws, increased wear on caternary wires and tracks, and increased cost to get to that speed, it runs at 320km/h. Bear in mind that there is a diminishing ROI above these speeds for conventional rail. Conventional HSR takes a long time to accel/decel to 350-360. Unless you're running non-stop over a long distance, running trains at 350km/h is a little like accelerating up to a stop sign. This is why it makes more sense on super long HSR runs in China, for example, to run trains at 350km/h on long Beijing-Shanghai runs (some of which only make 1 or two stops) even if it means it costs more, requires more track maintenance, and is louder. There are also fewer tunnels along the route... and the people in the Chinese countryside have far less say in the matter when it comes to complaining about noise. The difference with the Chuo line is that it accelerates SO QUICKLY, reaching top speed in less than 2 minutes. Even so, to get the greatest benefit of this speed, the majority of trains will make 0 stops between Tokyo and Nagoya. Also note that the fastest trains run on the Tohoku line, which will eventually reach Sapporo, which is 2nd most popular domestic route in Japan (2hr flight TYO-FUK is the most popular... as the train takes 5h). Trains need to go FAST to compete with the flight and Tokyo-Sapporo will reduce train time to 5 hours, and less if the trains run at their design speed 360km/h and eliminate some stops.

But, Japan has started constructing high speed commercial maglev line, which will be operated at 500+km/h. Not for high speed record, but for commercial use that everyone can ride.

Motors are modified, wheels are increased in diameter, pantographs reportedly are reduced from two to one as standing waves in overhead wires threaten to damage them. The train will run on a long, moderate downhill track. The Duplex train will consist of three coaches plus two power heads only....Isn't it experiment also?
