Dude, I commented on another vid of yours a couple days ago because I couldn't believe you could get this done for cheaper than buying a new low end bass boat. I was blown away 100% and thought it was the coolest thing ever when you told me that it was done for under ten k. I'm a disabled veteran from Michigan so I've put a ton of time in fishing but could never get the bass boat I dream of on my budget. This summer I'm gonna follow your vids that I saved and have a go at building one. Thanks for the inspiration, this is really going to do me some serious good. N thanks my man. Take care

Dude you can buy a hell of a boat for under 10k lol. Alot better than a glorified 16ft jon boat. I get he enjoys doing this and is good at it. No knock on him. If you could do this under 1500 then it would be a better option. BUT 10k get real. You can buy brand new tracker with a 50 on it for that. 10k is insane.

From prior experience, I would say "no" to a manifold like that. Better to eat the expense and take all tubes to the main drain, so if something gets stuck in there, you can snake it out with a conduit fish tape later.

Great video. You've really taken it to another level. I'm not a fan of the manifold. It only takes a senko or something else to land in one of the drains to get in the manifold, then it's done. It's hard to drop something in one of those ports, but it will happen. The one in a million. We've all found a 4 1/4 senko under something in the boat that's swelled up to 8 inches and as big as your thumb. Your builds are great and hopefully they're inspiring lots of people. You've given me a ton of great ideas. I just worry about the manifold catching something that plugs it.

There’s a place here in washington that makes a sealed air chambered boat. I installed an outboard on one and the boat was the most stable boat in the water that I’ve ever seen. They are perfect for search and rescue. The company might have closed down. It was called bee safe air chamber boats.

The boat prob had bench seats with foam, adding the cross brace and foaming it don't think it makes that much diff for weight. When you start adding 3/4" plywood now that's adding weight. These are flats boats so not something you want out where waves are going to comer the gunnel anyway. Thought this was pretty well laid out. Each person will persinalize their hulls, like we do for cars.

When you pour in the foam and make your subfloors how are you allowing for water to drain down the prebuilt channels in the hull? I understand your drain tubes for the hatches but what about water getting into the foamed area? I have watched many of your videos but still am confused. Especially with one of your videos where you drilled into your subfloor and pumped the foam underneath.
@buddytheweasel
@buddytheweasel 3 жыл бұрын
@@TinyBoatNation thanks for answering this, For some reason I was thinking that the black garden hose was for draining water from under the subfloor, but now I think I understand it's for the hatches, and any water accumulating under the subfloor should still be able to drain out of the bilge hole in the back of the boat.

Hmm... looks awesome, good work! I guess it's been a while since this build. Any idea how well the drainage still works? Ever any issues with leaves, dirt or other debris clogging any of them drainage tubes over time? I just picked up an 89 tracker pro tournament tx with a 50 hp Johnson, not sure if the motor runs or not boat is still missing some stuff, started on the bow an removed the rotted wood an replaced it with a piece of 3/4 marine and re-riveted a few broken rivets to support it... just started popping rivets on the mid ship today, hopefully get that all out in the next few days... the front foam was kinda dark in color but I was fully able to stand on it without any give or crumbling, the PO said he kept it in the water docked until they moved here 5 years ago... also trying to get into the left an right rear hatches the top alum you would stand on is bowed up towards the sky, not sure what this means but I plan to dig it out if possible and replace it...

Removed the center portion of my boat yesterday, I was shocked to see someone had already used a thick hunk of alum for the main floor, but didn't do the entire floor... for some reason they used wood for the floor infront of the console and under the 2 front storage boxes there... all of it literally crumbled in my hands upon removal... so pretty much have all that alum clean already except for a few pieces then still trying to figure out how the rear was assembled, my livewell sits rectangular long ways front to rear in-between the driver an pass seats so not sure if tracker made it that way or someone cut the main support to put it like that cause I can see from your videos that their should be a support there... sorry so long winded an that things didn't pan out with the other guy, today I picked up a transom saver rod, front an rear nav light bases, and some hardware to fasten the front casting chair base, total boat foam received, 12 gang fuse panel, carpet glue, troul, an some other stuff... can't find any pebble 24x48 gator skin in blk for the bow or any 20oz carpet for a decent price, once I get that I can start to pre assemble an move onto the wiring an motor... good luck to the winner of your build l, hope they appreciate the hard work you put into every boat you touch!

He used a lot of foam in this video, and he also used foam on the subfloor. He does not need to test it. One cu ft of foam supports 60 lb of boat weight with negative buoyancy value (e.g., fuel and liveweel does not count). I think the cu ft of foam used in this boat build can keep the boat floating and two people if the boat is filled with water.

Eeee Gad maintaining the main wire and just opening the insulation to then attach a wire for a light is great but twisting and just putting on liquid tape is BAAAAAAD. You should have soldered the wires. Twisting makes a nice mechanical connection but horrible electrical connection and in a Marine environment that's not good. An even better, though more labor method is to open up more of the main wire, bend it in half, use an uninsulated butt splice, slide shrink wrap over it, attach the other end to the butt splice, solder, use the shrink wrap. Butt splices and twisting to not make good electrical connections. SOLDERING DOES. Sure it will probably work but it will result in more resistance in the joint which equals heat and heat is lost battery power and lost power to the device being powered.

@@TinyBoatNation No problem. I'm a former aircraft and auto mechanic and now HAM radio operator/instructor/antenna builder. We use mechanical connections for strength and always solder for good electrical conduction.

Of course how poorer people builds their boats is wrong compared to the best way to do things. Doesn't mean they always are dumb, and don't know what they're doing. Most know exactly what they are doing with the small budget they have. This is a rich man's channel. I had to unsubscribe. I just bought a 15 ft jon boat n trailer for $425. I'm on a fixed income that barely pays for food, and utilities. Don't know how in the world I'm going to get a motor for it, much less spending thousands to make it better. I will have to do things on it the very cheapest way possible.
