Easy for Russians, cuz we also have the sound อื in our language 😌

เมือง, too. I think the biggest problem is that many of us start learning with some kind of transposition system so เงิน becomes ngern, เกาะ becomes koh, เมือง becomes meuang, etc. and we have to forget the reflex to pronounce those letters as we would in English. This is a really helpful video because it not only shows us what to say but how to say it.

Hi James, I agreed that. Many times Thai learners fall back to the way they pronounce in their mother tongue and not so strict with Thai pronunciations. I think it’s fundamental to learn to get the right sounds from the beginning.

As a german person I seriously struggle with the “eu” but my teacher also gave me tip to “smile”..so it is getting better 555

Still looking for near and far ! For years I've just been saying either ไกลมาก ประมาณ 30 km จากที่นี้ ( apologises never learnt the tone rules properly! ) or for near ไม่ห่างใกล้จากที่นี etc Can't make the words sound right in isolation and without context (sometimes I just give up and use the Khmer words! because they are quite different: no នៅជិត (no jut) for its near or នៅឆ្ងាយ (no chhngay) for its far នៅ (no) is like อยู่

I am very tired learning Thai. When I speak Thai to Thai people, they reply in English, so I have no chance to practice. The English of Thai people is also difficult to understand. So I think no need learn Thai at all since Thai people like speak English and don't speak Thai to foreigners even if foreigners speak Thai first. I see Thai people only like speak Thai to Thai people.
