Maths Olympiads are held all around the world to recognise students who excel in maths. The test is offered at many grade levels and provides them with numerous possibilities to win certifications, awards, and even scholarships for higher studies.

If it is asking for a real solution x/2=x Which can be represented as, a=2a You don't even need to solve this. Only possibility is 0. Or if you really want to solve, 0=2a-a 0=a Why did you make it so complex

Could you make it even harder? Just subtract x fron both sides and then multiply both sides by 2!

even worse, you can just say that x=0 immediatly. If you struggle to see something as easy as this then you should return to kindergarten. How long would the video be for a long ass differential equation

she is overcomplicating it too much. its somewhat estimation. since x/2 = x , it shows that the value must be the same and the only possible number is "0' But, my question is, how is this a math olympiad question?

Many of the comments here show MUCH easier ways to solve the problem. This video illustrates the motto of most math teachers "To earn a name in teaching; when other roads are barred; that something very easy; and make it very hard."

This can be solved in 1-2 seconds Simply cross multiply and move the x from the LS to RS and voila! x=0

No way, I wish olympiad was something like this when I participated. I remembered even the teacher would stumble upon a solution for some past year questions (yet, they sent the students there to be annihilated every year)

she wanted x/2 to be combined with -x so she made 2/2 multiplied by x and this doesn't affect the syntax of solving the equation because 2/2 = 1 ,then we found that -2x/2 and x/2 are the same in the denominator so we combined them to be x-2x/2

Если ты почитаешь про него на вики, то поймешь, что он не был хорошим - он был мошенником (зарабатывал деньги в том числе и на распространении антинаучных теорий - даже премию получил за вклад в псевдоисторию), мизогином (до сих пор во Владике за это можно найти туалетную бумагу с его рылом) и фашистенком (разжигание международной розни ко всем не русским)

infinity is not a number, what you are trying to say is that if you take the limit of those two function, then it would be infinity. However this is an equation so your comment is stupid, and even worse, their limit isn't even equivalent
