There's more to that than I realized it would be. Your repair videos are really good. I'm working on my 7000 planter right now. The deeper I get the more I find I need to do. Great video!

I did some work on my 7000 several years ago. It is in pretty good shape for now. I've done several videos over the years on different projects on it. Good luck getting yours fixed up.

It was a long day but not that bad once I gota system down. My son was over for a little bit and did most of the cleaning. That was a big help.

It really wasn't that bad. I got it down and found what I was doing wrong. The firming arm needed move up out of the way. Put all the new disc openers on the back and didn't have to take any of the bearing apart. Thanks for being here.

I have a 20' I need to overhaul I keep watching videos seeing how everyone else is rebuilding, I sure wish it was 15" spacing and not the 7.5" man so many parts!!
@TAHDAHFarm
@TAHDAHFarm 2 жыл бұрын
That is simple, just take off what you don't want. Plug the rows and space them out on the front and back rows. That will cut parts in half and give you spare parts. Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

Nice! Just waiting till I can afford to do mine or you know you could just come over here for a service call!

If you can afford the service call drive rate, I'll be right up after planting. But we have to do it in the summer, I couldn't handle that winter stuff up there. Lol.

Once I did several, it got easier. The toughest once were the 2 right in the middle on the front. The back row was a piece of cake except right by the tires. I would rather work on this than on a car or truck, lol.

You check it out, but I think you are wrong on mounting guage wheel on drill. It's different than the planter. Leave a nickle thickness between tire and opener blade on drill,( or 1/16 -1/8 ). On the firming wheel arm you'll find a little pin wear is acceptable with new bushings and the V8 tire. You can also cut pin off and bore a new hole in old arm pin, but that's a bit of a job. Keep up the good work.

You are probably right on the gage wheels. I have been trying to remember were or who told my that they are to rub. I thought it was in a Needham Ag video but i can't find it. Now I'm thinking it was the neighbor guy that told me that when he was rebuilding his 750. But he could be wrong too. I have looked into taking the pin out of the arms but that does look like a big job to drill out. Thanks for the info and I'm still trying to figure out whare I got the info.

@@TAHDAHFarm I have been doing like you, tire rub disk opener blade same as on the planter opener until a year ago. Phil Needham said drill specs are different than planter. I asked head of service at JD dealer and he confirmed drill specs are different than planter. I learned the tire wears out too fast.

Well, I guess I will need to change those, lol. I very much appreciate you getting the correct information. Thank you for your comments and please keep watching. I sure I have done other things wrong. My biggest problem is that I am a perfectionist. Again thank you.
