Thames whale dies after rescue attempts fail

Күн бұрынA young minke whale that became stranded in the River Thames has been put down.
A vet from London Zoo has euthanised the whale after it became 'very distressed' and was seen trapped against the riverbank near Teddington in the southwest of the capital.

I used to work with this whale a few years ago, really nice whale. It saved me from a marine accident and I am eternally grateful. I am devastated for whale's family. Goodbye Blub xx

Do people not see the irony here? Yh it's sad to see a whale getting stranded in a river but all these people trying to act so righteous and saint like is so annoying. Litterally in this country alone thousand and thousand of fishes get slaughtered for their food but no empathy there. Jeez such hypocrites

Could of sent people in there to cut the vines.. could of used a crane to lift it out into a tanker and helped it. Not kill it just because it’s easier.. could at least sacrifice a few humans to ensure the survival of other species... we aren’t special.

Don’t understand! Why couldn’t they helicopter the whale via sling wrapped in wet towels to transport? They do this for dolphins @ those awful & cruel amusement water parks in the U.S!??

A whale weighs a lot more than a dolphin and it was thrashing about, they tried but they couldn't get the straps on. People don't realize how dangerous it is with an animal this big it can do some serious damage when it's flailing about, the last thing a bunch of marine biologists wanna do is put down a whale
