Iraq as a country was never affected by this conflict. Everything was functioning normally. No bombs or anything of that kind was heard by citizens unless they bordered Iran. However, many Iraqi soldiers were taken hostages for a decade so that was a great loss. The man being interviewed was spot on, very intelligent and eloquent. I wish I could say the same for the current so called Iraqi politicians. Unfortunately they fall into the retarded category. Iraq has indeed gone back to medieval times in contrast to that video which shows a civilised peaceful society.

Its sad what so called democracy did to many nations.
@jakel8627
@jakel8627 2 жыл бұрын
That's a gross oversimplification. Could Iraq have fallen even if the US and allies didn't invade? Ask yourself why couldn't Iraq successfully rebuild itself in 2005? Why couldn't it handle democracy? The most likely answer to that question is it already had problems with corruption and the country was already deeply divided. Many different people live in Iraq, Sunni's and Shi'ites, Kurds in the North, and many of these didn't get along before the war happened. Iraq was held together by a powerful dictator. All the US did was speed things up.

the only reason there hasnt been an American military interference in iran is due to Irans harsh geography. Mountains are covering the west side and deserts in the south. and sea at the north it would be very difficult for the military. So its not due to Iran great diplomacy or whatsoever, its due to the harsh terrain and geography.

I think saddam's two mistakes were, that he lived in the past, and his pride. He was a dreamer, living in the antient times of arab and islamic history. He was dreaming about greatness of his nation, and of himself. What a nice dream. It just didn't fit in the 21st century. He was too stuborn to realise the reality. In a way, i think that he wanted to end the way he did. So that he will become an immortal hero of arabian history. Well that worked good. The amaricans granted him that wish indeed. The only question is: was it worth it ? I think, he was a good man in his heart. As tough of a ruler as he was. And i think he was inteligent as well. The problem was, that his delusions overshadowed his clear mind. I think, if his plan would work, iraq would be great. Bagdad could be a mix of middle eastern washington and dubai. I mean a mix of power and a fairytale greatness combined in one. But the way he saw it, just wasn't possible to make it, in the modern days. And this delusion of his, destroyed iraq for decades. If he only played nice, just like the other arabian countries like egypt, jordan, u.a.e. or saudi arabia, he could lived up to his dream about the greatest modern *living* arabian ruler. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that the war was justified. No way. We all know by now, that it was a fraud. All i'm saying is, that bush wouldn't have no fake reason to destroy him and his country, if he stood a bit with his feet on the ground and if he played nice. He was just too much with his head in the sky, and too proud for diplomacy, bcz he saw all the western politicians as clowns and snakes, and he believed in greatness and superiority of his nation. And he was right. They are all snakes and clowns indeed. The catch is, you can't win alone against the whole world, twice when your enemies have a modern technology.

@@beed4444 plus, i think, that mubarak had it ordered to step down, to encourage people in the other arabian countries (mostly in libya and syria), to begin with uprises, in a way, to show them, how easy it is, to topple a dictator. But in fact, the egyptian regime remained the same (with poor mursi thinking he was a president for one year). Just think of the fact, that mubarak was only "housearrested" for a short time, while mursi had to immediately go to prison, and to die there. To be honest, i have no clue about mursi's politics, just this comparsion seems too obvious to realise, what was going on.

@@chainzaxefame9829 Are you jealous that Iraqis are first civilisation of humanity and that Summers first invented writting and circle? Summers were conquered by Semitic Akkadis and Akkadis by Arabs. But Summers weren't killed, so blood of Summers is in every Iraqi! Maybe that's why Saddam Hussein was so great romantic, idealist and patriot, because wasn't only Arab? Saddam reminded me film hero, this was unique see so hero in reality. He is the greatest Muslim hero in history of Islam, for me he is greatest than Salah ad-Din. Saddam is for me like imam Ali for Shiites. This Iraqi President sacrificed for his nation, was murdered by Americans and Iraqi traitors and gave example how need behave in critic situation. Yet before execution Saddam shouted: "Allahu akbar! Long live Ummah! Palestine is Arabic!" I don't think that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei or some Iranian would be so brave and noble in last moments of life. I compass Iranian killed in war Iraq-Iran, but I love Saddam Hussein and also Muammar Gaddafi and I won't stop love my Heroes and idols only because of this that someone want this. Of course I love also Ali Khamenei and support Iran against America and Israel, Khamenei is good man who helps Palestine, from other side is ruthless man who occupies Iraq. Saddam also wasn't saint, but all his actions were because of this that he defended against enemies... he attacked Iran, because Khomeini financed Iraqi Shiites to kill Baath and also financed Kurds of Barzani to smash Saddam Hussein country! So Saddam attacked Iran to force Khomeini to pick out from Iraq. Now Iran seize all in Iraq and Iraqis fight since 2003 about their freedom from USA and Iran (Iran cooperated with CIA in Iraq and murdered Iraqi patriots from Baath Party, this is fact which I can't forget Iran). Iraqis did national uprising of Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri in 2012-2015 which was bombed by Americans and Russians and Iranians in 2014 and I cried then, because I love Iraqis all my heart and soul. Iraqis also did massive protests against Iran since 2019 and Iran killed 800 protesters then, putting snipers on the roofs and shot into innocent people with cold blood and also Kataib Hizbullah and Iraqi goverment of Nouri al-Maliki (puppet of USA and Iran) murdered peaceful protesters. Iran also murdered 25 thousands of Sunnis in Iraq since 2014, this is genocide. I supported Iran very since January 2020 when USA wanted bomb Iran for oil, but recently I read article on Diyaruna that Iran did genocide in Iraq and that in January 2021 Iraqis found mass grave of murdered Iraqi civillians farmers and common people, Kataib Hizbullah didn't want allow investigate this place even. Victims had hands tied behing back and were killed by shot in back of their head! I don't want have nothing in common with Iran anymore. It made me sick. I have fiance from Iran, but I don't want live with him there... I couldn't live in country who kills its neighbours! I'm Polish woman from Poland who love Saddam Hussein and Baath Party and Iraqis and Iran murders them, so... I can't and won't be this like Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He can has grief toward Iraq for old war Iraq-Iran, but this won't give him right to killing people in Iraq! This is bad and if he doesn't understand this, he is... Iraqis and Iranians should recouncile and be brothers like Saddam Hussein wanted in 1991 when he proposed Ali Khamenei common alliance against Americans, but Ayatollah rejected this. But in way that in Iraq should rule Baath Party and in Iran Guardians of Revolution. This can't be "friendship" by force that Iran took away from Iraqis all, their patriotism and their dreams and force them to obey. I understand that Iran is alone in the Middle East and afraid of Arabs who hate it, but can't do things like Iran is doing! Behaving of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will lead to yet more hatred between Iraqis and Iranians. And Arabs and Persians should live in peace, because companion of Prophet Muhammad, Salman al-Farisi was Persian, and autor of Haadiths, Bukhari, was Persian. Islam orders love and friendship between all Muslims despite of race and genetic origin.

Like female position in the West is better? The only reason women got "more freedom" in the West is to be put into workforce and slave away till 70. While true women in East got less chance to generate wealth themselves they got lot less stressful life. In the end it's not much worse and for many it's better. While true that Eastern system is outdated and can never hope to compete with Western system mainly because first and foremost they got 50% less workforce it is debatable does wealth actually equals happiness and well being. Who doesn't like it can move to West and slave 6 days a week chassing numbers on their bank account. Whoever doesn't like traditional values can move to Netherlands and live like Westerner. Work 5-6 days a week get a day off to get drunk on weekend just to go trough your mundane existence, what a heaven...

It's interesting how Iraq was shown in such a begin and civil light in the early 80s versus the early 2000s when Bush was getting ready to start the war. Propaganda at its best.

The west was staunchly aligned with Iraq, Saddam and the Ba’athist regime during this war. Just as the lead up to the 2003 invasion was drenched in negative propaganda, Iraq’s war with Iran was filled with just as much propaganda but instead they painted Iraq and Saddam in a positive light. I remember seeing a clip of protesters marching against the 1991 gulf war. The lead protester shouted “it was you Mr. Bush who gave King Hussein…”. I paused, for a moment I thought they were referring to King Hussein of Jordan. Then it hit me, Americans were still influenced by the pro-Saddam propaganda from the recently concluded Iran-Iraq war. At the time, Saddam was often referred to as “King Hussein” in the western media. “King” is a word that westerns perceive positively. The media used certain language to steer the viewers bias where they wanted it to go. It’s all part of the process to manufacture consent and deceive the public.

Yes, I agree. But Iraq is friend of Iran now. Middle East should unite and get rid of zionist occupation. They want us to kill each other.

@@dhruvadrhu3991 No Iran didn't get help from no one except some political support from Syria and Saddam didn't won. There were at sometime some weapon delivery from contra affair, I think you are confused. That war was Iran vs US, just like the war of today Saudi vs Yemen, Saudi is just used as cover. Its all US.
