Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball and other influential series, has passed away on March 1st. This information was only made public in the past several hours.
As someone who grew up watching all of the Dragon Ball series; his works have influenced me a lot. Maybe not in my art style or videos, but just with pleasant memories of playing around as a kid and having something to look forward to (a new DB movie or show...or even the abridged series and a couple of video games). God gave Toriyama such a fun idea--so many fun ideas and has influenced people around the world and throughout time.
So I just wanted to say: Thank you, Toriyama.
Everyone, please pray for his family and loved ones.
May God bless them and you all as well. Amen.

My name is Aloubell and I am a hobbyist digital artist as well as a published children's book author. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and, thanks to the Lord, my art journey continues! As a Christian, I give full acknowledgement that all success I get from art and life in general is thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm proud to say He has helped make each and every art piece of mine possible.
My dream is to have a career where I can be creative. This KZfaq channel is a means in which I can achieve that dream!
I have a lot to talk about whether it be anime, cartoons, books, or just me retelling stories from my own life.
I'm very much still learning how to be better as an artist, so I appreciate your support on my journey!

Even as someone who isn't really into the manga or anime world, the incredible impact Dragon Ball has had in the world and culture as a whole is undeniable. Even as someone who's never watched it, I know for a fact it's been a great source of inspiration and influence on people that I admire and inspired me, so it has indirectly been influential on me as well. As well as many many of my friends. This really is such a great loss, but Toriyama's legacy, his characters, and the world he imagined will live on forever. May he rest in peace. 🖤🙏

The Dragon Ball series really made a huge impact towards anime and pop culture as a whole (same can be said with his other work like Dr. Slump, Sandlands, and his illustrations on Dragons Quest and Chrono Trigger), and finding out that Akira Toriyama passed away today made me frowned. Rest in peace Akira Toriyama and Lord rest his soul.

I literally JUST found out. One of my favorite memories growing up was helping my sister move into her new home with her then boyfriend (now husband) and happened to see the show during the Android Saga. I admit, I never watched the show besides that arc, GT (underrated), and a bit of Super, but I can say with honesty that anything Dragon Ball related brought a smile to my face. Until today. Thank You, Akira. Thank You for the many wonderful memories you've given me and so many others. Thank You for sharing your wonderful franchise with the world. You may be gone, but you will **NEVER** be forgotten. May you rest in peace, enjoy your new life in Heaven, and may your family and everyone you've impacted heal and eventually find peace. 🐉 🟠

Honestly, I remember watching DBZ before Dragon Ball. The way Toriyama designed characters was very distinct no matter what franchise it was you could tell it was “His” work. A real shame hearing about his passing. Without him we wouldn’t have all the plethora of other Mangaka who would follow after he created the world of Dragon Ball 🐉 . He’s right up there with in my mind as the creator of Astro Boy.

I might not be a fan of Dragon Ball, but hearing this news on the radio was a huge shock to me. Dragon Ball was the first anime I heard about and I remember watching some episodes of it when I was younger, I even had a toy of Son Goku because my uncle (who likes anime) has been a fan of the series ever since he was a kid (the toy belonged to him if you couldn't tell). And with that, I'll always respect Dragon Ball and Akira Toriyama for introducing the world of anime and manga to me so, that's all I can say. Rest in peace 🤍

Aloubell I can sense your sadness and I can understand how you feel. Toriyama was always there to bring inspiration to the media of shonen anime as a whole and even though I didn't know much about him since am not Japanese .BUT what I do know is that the man himself wouldn't want us to grieve forever in his demise😓 Because after all he is the one that inspired authors who wanted to give up on their series like Tite Kubo for example by telling him not to stop in making his work known as Bleach and he was also the one that Inspired the BIG THREE as a whole so no matter what. We as DB fans should move forward and cultivate a future for all to blossom as an eternal dragon of hope🐲🐲🐉 💮💮💮🌻 For The LEGENDARY AKIRA TORIYAMA🐲🐲🐲

Dragon Ball was one of the first animes i have ever watched in my entire life (if not the first one, because i can't remember correctly) my brother and I used to watch a lot because it aired on Cartoon Network (at least in my country, i don't really know about the others). Dragon Ball is such a big part of my life, and a lot of people's lives too. I've been recently checking out some of other Toriyama's works like "Dr Slump" the one that Arale girl comes from and i have ordered on my birthday (January) a manga called "Manga theater" a manga full of one-shots and short stories made by him, you can tell that he was more like a comedian person, but his serious moments on Dragon Ball were also well made in my opinion. Rest in peace Akira Toriyama. You will always be remembered by hundreds of people who had loved you work.

I play the breakers online multiplayer with a couple good friends occasionally so dragon ball is still relevant even on my end. I was also one of the people starting off with dragon ball z from toonami back when naruto, Pokemon and YU GI OH were all the hype. It seems that one of the best things philosophically speaking about dragon ball is not what people may be expecting, that even if you're faced with an infinitely powerful crisis or situation that you are more powerful than you realize. Dragon ball is still fun in its own right and enjoyable to watch and read but when i see kids and adults draw the characters and make fan projects on KZfaq for the dubs there is definitely a lot more to be said than just what you get from all their anime and manageable for all these many years. Even compared to Pokemon, one piece, beserk and Jojo that is so remarkable. Anyways thanks for your own input aloubell. I guess you could say IM a long time quiet observer subscriber of your channel because IVE watched your Powderpuff girls z and miraculous ladybug videos starting off but just never felt like commenting for some reason. Your art and animation related content is always honest and cheerful, and that's the case right now too since all of your own experiences with dragon ball as well. Hoping the best for you and the bell community and a safe night!

I mean.. we saw it coming.. but not now. I haven't gave DB a chance until 2023. I was in a depressive state that time. I actually knew about DB ( DBZ in particular) when I was a kid. But I didn't gave it a chance because my cousins would make fan of me because I was a girl and in there minds "girls shouldn't watch boys stuff" But 10 years later i gave it a chance and. I liked it. It was fun. It kinda helped me out. I got influenced by his work i owe it to him. And to think that 2 months later. Dragon ball is going to turn 40. Time flys by doesn't. Anyway. My favorite moment for DB was when Goku reunited with his grandpa. And for DBZ. It was the father son Kamehameha. For some reason it always makes me teere eyed when I see those moments. I really don't know how to feel about this right now. All i could say is.. rest in power toriyama. Thanks for the memories.

I can say with kinda pride that me and dragonball are the same age (we both were born in 84) so i kinda treea dragonball as my "brother" cause dragonball was there for me when everyone treated me very bad, i was bullied at school cause i wear glasses, girls called me super ugly, but all that went away when dragonball was on Thanks to Akira i began to ignite my passion to draw at age 12, and my gosh i used to love drawing every caracter that i found cool, omg when trunks first appeared i was obsessed drawing him and my favorite hhomie vegeta, i used to draw a lot till my hands hurt, and i wasn´t happy when i saw that my drawing was close to the original, at age 14 i began to create my own silly caracters and stories, my first story was called "super dragon" and it was a goofy story about a boy with dragon powers that could transform to a dragon to save the world with his friends, hehe i remenber the villain was a mix of kid buu swag with ssj4 gogetas hair heheeh xD i even drew my caracters with db caracters, but i live in a country that i can´t have dreams so i had to kill all my ideas and stories till now :( , i think me and Akira have a lot in common, we both like sci fi stuff, space stuff, he loves robots, i also love robots and futuristic tech, he loves animals i also like animals a lot specially red pandas, he lovesss drawing cars and machines, i remenber in 2005 there was acontest in a car tuning magazine that contest was if we drew a tuning car, with fancy bodykits and low suspension and all that fast and furious nfs underground style stuff, i remenber i sent a art of a peogeut 106 lowered to the ground wide bodykit and arts from guess what dragonball was everywhere and I WON, i won a year of free magazines, i draw db caracters for 27 years now and i love it every second of it i treat them as if they were my own kids/creations i put my style and love on the arts, i can say many more stories and how Akira changed me and was my favorite male figure, that is why this hit me veryyyy hard i cried a lot i felt like i lost a long friend or a DAD tbh, and please watch Arale she´s so adorablee and the anime is soo funny and fun i love watching it take care and sorry for my long testament, take care!

I can't really understand what you feel right now, but I know hard can it be to lost somebody who ment a lot, personally or inspirational. It's oke to be sad, because death is hard to grasps. But death is part of a life, and the sadnass means somebody did something good and meaningful in their life. And such a life was a good one, and it means his death wasn't for nothing, because his life wasn't. But I hope after you get better a bit and hope you are fine, even if sad.
