I know Jimmie will never see this but this is my message to him I started watching NASCAR in 2014 so I never got to see the true dominance of JJ. In 2016 I was really pulling for Carl Edwards...he obviously didn't win the title, and when I saw you celebrating your 7th, I was like "the way he did it..I'm glad he won"..I went back and watched the old days when you were absolutely dominating and it was crazy. This video is really awesome, and I love the way Gordon spoke in it. But I wanna see you win one more. You have been my favorite driver, since 2016. Even tho you haven't won since 2017, I'm glad I chose such a nice guy to be my favorite.and when you go to indycar I will be ready to cheer you on...I'm sad this day has come but it eventually had to happen..you are obviously retiring after the season...go get em JJ #onefinaltime

Jimmie Johnson went out like the way he wanted to be. As a NASCAR fan since 1988 I have witnessed it all from Bill Elliott's first Winston Cup Championship to the passing of the torch. There are so many memories of Jimmie Johnson throughout his 19 year career. 83 career wins and 7 NASCAR Cup Series Championships later he is already one of the best and a future NASCAR Hall of Famer.

@Jim Schwartz Ok I can agree with that but I have one problem. Dale Sr came from a different era. The cars and the training needed to be done are newer. The sport really advanced. Who knows how well Dale Sr would of did with the playoff format? Who knows how well JJ would have done without the playoff format the whole time. He would’ve raced differently. I have so much respect for Dale Sr and his career, but JJ somehow with the stupid playoff format won 7 titles. You gotta give credit we’re credit is due.

Seeing you succeed, and sadly fail at times, as pushed me to want to race....
