The excess deviation is being used as the reason for the eternals to go after the X-Men. But this is another attempt to boost the sales of the eternals. But Thanos being used here is the most interesting part.

I don't think it's as much to boost sales for the Eternals as much as it is to make them a relevant element of the overall Marvel universe. So they don't have to go through these never ending cycles of short term appearances that have to serve as an origin/introduction for them every time somebody wants to use the characters again.

I personally love this story and dont feel like they are deleting the history of these characters but rather expanding them. Its amazing how the Avenger X-men and Eternal are now related in someway

Disagree Thena had a kid with Kro, Eternals did have kids and mutants were not deviant, this is a retcon pure and simple. But hey if you like you like it, but it definitely is discarding previous established lore. Oh and Ajak was a male.

I've realized that comic continuity is basically a game of telephone. Each writer seems to have heard the previous material a little differently, and you end up with each writer doing slightly different things with characters.

Appreciate it Rob,much respect for what you do from this old school collector of Marvel. It's interesting how all the stories change yet some things stay the same. And I am probably one of a few diehard collectors that absolutely love the Eternals from way back along with the Inhumans. Saying that,keep up your good work. It would be cool if you delved into the original Marvel universe,for me anyway. Peace

Man...if it's revealed that Mutants are an off-shoot of the Deviants, and Humans with superpowers are an off-shoot of the Eternals, than it can explain why peace can never be had between Humans and Mutants...cause peace doesn't exist between Eternals and Deviants

I personally didn't interpret Druig's conclusion as Kieron and Marvel changing the mutants history, more like it's Druig's/Eternal's way of interpreting the x-gene mutation. He's basically saying the only to describe the x-gene is deviation since to him they are deviating from how humans where created and are supposed to exist, especially now that they've also found a method to resurrect themselves. To Druig, any being that deviates from its original design is exactly that... a deviant.

Writing out the whole X gene seems like a bad idea, but it could be some kind of hybrid. Like the X gene gets triggers or amplified by the deviant gene or something. Or maybe just some of the mutants, like Nightcrawler and Beast with physical changes, are half deviant. Very curious to where this is going.

It is absolutely amazing, saddening, and maddening at the same time, the extent to which nothing at Marvel means anything. What you "know" about the Marvel Universe today could change tomorrow and then change yet again the day after that.

28:30 I don’t know if you’ve already read this by the time the video’s uploaded, but in Genis-Vell: Captain Marvel, Thanos shows up alive again at the end of the first issue. An alien even mentions that they thought Thanos was dead.

oh. thats kind of a weird twist at the end. I always looked at mutants as lesser forms of eternals that have not reached peak evolution, but this changes the idea. seems like a grasp at boosting the enternals interest but not a good one.

He's just been so overexposed and just been so OP-written for more than a decade now thru numerous issues and releases (case and point, Thanos Wins, King Thanos, Thanos becomes TOAA, etc.), I think it's just time for him to revert back to his old self, a powerful Eternal/Deviant with ridiculous powerset and self-righteous motivations, powerful but balanced.

I kind had a feeling that Deviants, Mutants, and Inhumans would be lumped together because they share so many similarities. Not saying that's how it should be, but the more I review all of them as a whole, it sort of makes sense instead of having to explain the differences.

This had some pretty interesting bits. That crazy Destructorite distraction. 😄 Sprite taking Starbrand their security system "offline" to go play. 🤣 The Eternals and Avengers mid-fight, then *oh crap gotta save the world* and both sides stand down (aside from Thor and Ajak). And what struck me most was Thanos, who is so powerful but _truly dangerous_ because he's strategic and intelligent, being killed by a traitorous snake who could never battle him, but instead _outsmarted_ him. 😯 Nice.
